ohh,ibadan is decent ?
But we thought it’s a city covered with 99% slum
Bro, what is happening this morning is nothing short of miracle

Since I joined nairaland, igbos have never confessed that
Ibadan is decent before and that their people are doing menial jobs here before

All these while:

They are all billionaires that can buy all our generations even the ones yet unborn

They are the ones building the best buildings in southwest

They are all landlords and the yorubas pay rent to them
To mention but a few

Never knew I would live to see this day😂😂

To Igbo, all Yoruba's are ewedu eaters😁😁

And bro, please lie small, there is nowhere you will take bike of #20 in the whole of southwest.

At least, lie reasonably na!
Last year when I was in Lagos,my friend would beg me to send 700 naira to his wife to cook “Soup”
I was always suprised because in igboland even Okporoko costs more than that

This is a city called Plovdiv in Bulgaria, it is the oldest city in europe still standing, established in 600BCE.
if your claim about age of southwest cities is true, then when is Plovdiv looking better than Ogbomoso even as Plovdiv is 100 of years older?

The answer is probably that the people of southwest dont have enough resources to renovate their houses. It is a good marker for poverty and the ability to modernize. if money were made available to most yorubas, do you think that they want to keep living in cement-coated mud houses with leaking brown roofs?

There is no excuse for southwest towns to look so godforsaken, it still reinforces the fact that standard of living in better in southeast then any state in southwest outside of Lagos
ibadan is far develop6 than any southeastern city... Fact..

I don't think it's by size.
Majority of those inhabited places in Ibadan are huge slum settings with rustic roofs. It's large no doubt but how significant is this. It's like quality over quantity. A huge part of Ibadan is not economically viable enough.

Kano as a place, even though is smaller by landmass is more economically viable than Ibadan.
this is the same thing I keep telling u, I can bet u have never been to Ibadan before

My customer at dugbe who is igbo can’t say this cos he know there are 2 types of settlements in Ibadan n he knows nobody dare demolish family house

Let me burst your brain, every governor every senator every big man from Ibadan can trace their root to those same brown roof , so are u telling me none of them have money to rebuild d house?

My grandfather get houses for there n I don’t even know the location they just tell me, see in Ibadan u can have 500 houses all built on virgin land without demolishing any house

U igbos who have never been to d south west before are very easy to spot with this your brown roof rubbish

Many of u igbos who haven’t been here even believe we are typing from inside d brown roof

And your people don't collect owoda at Onitsha?
The agberos in Onitsha alone is worse than that of Lagos, just that they are grossly underreported
And we all know why
Guy, you're not the only one who have travelled round o😀

Who collects #5k as a teacher?
Even a poorly established private school doesnt pay that small

Guess what?
Some of your people are even looking for that in our towns , they can't find, thereby shouting tribalism and forming victims again

More than 60% of Ibadan is a sea of rustic dilapidated houses.

I think it's natural for people to relocate closer to the economic hub of a country which is Lagos. It's the same reason why many Yorubas also relocate to Lagos.
If you remove Lagos, I don't see any difference because I have toured both places
so are u telling me there are no igbos in other south west states?

Guy there are igbos in virtually all nooks n crannies of south west, Ibadan for example u see them selling phone casing, cds in traffic, phone accessories, some building materials

The thing is many of u are not well travelled, u rely on hearsay

Igbos are many in Ibadan not to talk of other south west states

They even hawk bread n akara self

Igbos willl naturally migrate more as a result of the war.

Southwest was very more developed after th war but southeast has caught up significantly. We know the truth but we keep telling ourselves lies.

Southeasterners make money in southwest and North and then send them back to the east to develop their places. All these are evident

Look at a mad fool talking, the people have high disposable income yet Alaigbo remains the most wretched region in the south.

The Chinese n Indians you talked about did they leave their own land wretched to go anywhere to develop that of others.

itsIYKE:
Your generation is obviously cursed with Illiteracy since you believe the sole determinant of migration is standard of living, the Chinese, Indians and even Europeans scattered around the country are here because we have a better standard of living compared to their country?😂 what a gob

There is no fee land available in the south East, massive forests all parts of the east, The people just have a lot of disposable income I.e high purchasing power😂 the south west does not have this and even the ones that have are not interested in anywhere that is not Lagos…….leaving the towns and villages to rot with little or no investment

Imagine a guy from Somalia or Niger republic who came to hustle in Nigeria telling us his country is better than Nigeria

The argument is what is the proportion of these fine places as against the bad places?

this is clear to see if we dont cherrypick certain parts in ibadan but post the whole landscape of ibadan.
one thing I can’t forget about how igbos are described is that they are ignorantly aggressive
An igbo person will b talking rubbish n he will b saying it with confidence

That was how one created a thread n said for every 3 houses in south west igbos own 1
