Common sense target for Veritas Kapital Assurance is N1.20. Good buy at current price of 0.55.

0.31 x 4 =1.24

Target Range N1.24-N1.55

Better still if they pay a dividend of 5-7 k in which case could target upper range.

Please do your DD.

Even with RED across board, EPS is King. Stocks hardly fall below EPS x 4. That’s the beauty of the strategy. Any one significantly below that is a BUY. Just Common Sense.

Kudus to you.
Is the 0.31 Eps not for the group.
I suppose 0.2 Eps is for the Insurance subsidiary. undecided
Please enlighten further.

Mankind2024:
Fact: it is difficult to time the Market.
We know the bear would come but noone knows the hour, the day, the date, the month and the exact time.
It was bullish at the opening of the market today before the massive sell off of volatile, ant-devaluation, and anti-inflation assets.
The equity market is a place where wealth is transferred from the impatient to the patient investors.
The intrinsic characteristic of the equity market is volatility.
There is no cause for a false alarm yet.
What the market shows us today is volatility, the same market that returned 236% YTD shed 1.49%.
Who are the sellers?
It has been shown that the institutional portfolio's investors are always the first to ring the panic buttons, they have nothing to loose.
For the record,
A bear market is a period of prolonged downward trend in investment prices, typically defined as a decline of 20% or more from recent highs. It's the opposite of a bull market, where prices steadily rise. Here are some key points about bear markets:
Definition:
While 20% is a common benchmark, a bear market can also be characterized by widespread pessimism and negative investor sentiment.
It can affect an entire market , or individual securities listed in an exchange.
The decline usually lasts for at least two months, and on average, a bear market lasts about 10 months.
Causes:
Various factors can trigger a bear market, including:
Economic recessions: When economic activity slows down significantly, it can lead to decreased corporate profits and consumer spending, negatively impacting stock prices.
Interest rate hikes: Central banks raising interest rates can make borrowing more expensive and slow down economic growth, potentially triggering a bear market.
Geopolitical events: Events like wars, natural disasters, or political instability can create uncertainty and risk aversion in the market, leading to price declines.
Asset bubbles: When asset prices become inflated due to excessive speculation, a correction can eventually burst the bubble, resulting in a bear market.
Impact:
Bear markets can cause significant financial losses for investors, especially those heavily invested in risky assets.
They can also lead to job losses and decreased economic activity as businesses cut costs and consumers tighten their spending.
However, they can also offer long-term buying opportunities as depressed prices can present attractive entry points for future growth.
Remember:
Bear markets are a normal part of the economic cycle, and they always eventually give way to bull markets.
It's important to maintain a long-term perspective and not panic during market downturns. This is the best time for patient investor to accumulate and build a generational wealth.
A diverse and well-balanced portfolio can help mitigate the risks of a bear market.
NEVER RUN AWAY WHEN CUSTOM STREET IS BLOODY.
RED DAYS, VOLATILE DAYS ARE HERE, IT WOULDN'T LAST LONG. THE MARKET WILL RISE AGAIN.
SHARPEN YOUR CUTLASS, BUY, BUY, BUY.
THIS A POLITICAL VOLATILITY. THE CBN CLEARED 2 YEARS OF UNPAID FOREX, THE SABOTEURS, THE ANTI NIGERUA DESCENDS ON THE MARKET TO CAUSE A PANIC THAT GOT NO ORIGIN. THE ENEMIES ARE FIGHTING HARD.
NAIRA WAS BEING HOARDED.
ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY OF FOREX, and the $US IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY.
BANDITS, UNKNOWN GUNMEN, DEVALUATION AND INFLATION MIGHT BE THE UNDERLYING RISK FACTORS FOR TODAY'S VOLATILE MARKET.

You just share links without doing the maths .I believe pwc was using official price in that article. And seven months ago official price was around #464.So what is 98% to that figure.Does it arrive to the #1300 plus they posted today.Based on 98% it should still be below #1000k

I will go with the cbn governor who said naira is under valued while fluctuations in the official window happens just like stock market.

And remember me I no dey fight anymore for here as you no sabi me for real life .For now I must defend my country as I no get another country and have no plan to leave naija too

Why did you multiply 0.31 by 4.
Is the 0.31 not for the whole year?[/quote]

Profit will come when it is time and shareholders go rejoice again

Guiness
Guinness results are not bad. Revenue growth plus the marginal costs are well managed vs previous year considering the operating environment.

The loss recorded in Guinness is as a result of re-measurement of foreign currency balances and exchange rate differences on foreign currency denominated loans.
If the naira depreciation does not exacerbate or if naira begins to appreciate, Guinness becomes a huge buy from that point.

IB

IB is in a better situation. It has hedged its cash flow against the currency fluctuations grin grin an estimated N65B enough to turn the result into profit!!! ....impressive! And a well managed marginal cost.

Q3 & Q4 BUY i think, just my thoughts

Just tried searching for the official announcement and couldn't find it.......
I think some people are just bent on dragging the market down by all means possible...
We can see how the bull had defied all their theories and charts for the past months, so they needed to come up with something to achieve their panic mission.

* One of the consolations is that the Locals still control majority stakes in this market and companies will still declare dividends either they like it or not.
* Bull or bear, investors and traders alike will still be trading and making profits in this market........In fact, some of the stocks are still undervalued if we consider the good results some of them are releasing now.
* Those in market just needed to control emotions during this period. It will also pass.

Yes.

You may need to read through my earlier posts to get a hang of the strategy. The figure is derived historically from over the years studying the NSE / NGX stock price behavior. It harbors our average collective investment goals of at least a 25% return on investment. This is largely the case except when in an unforeseen economic recession/ mayhem.

I have read your earlier posts on this.
What you normally do is to multiply the best quarter earnings(eps) by 4 but in this case you are multiplying the full year eps by 4.

BETTER TIME TO BUY INTO THE MARKET - THE TRANSCORP EXAMPLE
Transcorp's stock price has recently entered the daily value zone, coinciding with the NSE sentiments turning negative. This presents an opportune moment to consider accumulating shares, but conservatively. A Transcorp stock price at or below 13 Naira is particularly attractive and represents a potential bargain.

The transcorp power segment continues to be the engine power of transcorp plc. Figures from them beat Geregu hands down. Imagine having a revenue of #151 billion against Geregu #82 billion and a profit before taxation of #50 billion against #24 billion. If not due to excessive os, transcorp plc should not be trading below #100. Their result is awesome.

Transcorp EPS grew by 195%. It has a return on equity of about 19% which is quite good.

I expect between 60% to 100% earning growth in 2024 for Transcorp.

Based on the current price of the stock at recently released EPS of 56k. Transcorp has a PE of 26.

Transcorp is still very good to accumulate for the long term and N11 and below

Transcorp Hotel made EPS of 60k.

Return On Equity of 9%. Based on this it should be selling below its book value.

Transcorp Hotel currently has a PE of 162 based on its current price.

That should be the highest on NGX

Market priced in the growth potential of the stock

80% of the time we are too optimistic about our growth projections and valuation based on expected growth.

That is why I look at Growth At a Reasonable Price valuation model.

Invest with figures. The current average EPS on NGX is about 14.

The last time the market crashed in 2007, the average EPS was about 20.

I LAUGH READING ABOUT MARKET TIMING! cheesy
Can you really time the market? Yes, to some extent. Stock markets, especially those with various measuring tools, can be predicted to a certain degree, but not with absolute precision. If you're expecting to pinpoint the exact hour, minute, or second etc., I'm afraid what you are searching for is nothing but insider manipulation.

Over the years, technical analysts have developed numerous tools to help assess the stock market, figure out when to buy or sell, gauge risk-on and risk-off sentiments, and one of these tools is market breadth.

Just last week, some of us here on this forum raised a warning flag about the possibility of NSE ASI experiencing a dip (refer to posts on 20/01/2024), suggesting that we prepare for a buying opportunity. The fact that it didn't happen right away doesn't necessarily mean the timing was incorrect; it simply calls for caution, as all indicators are hinting at an impending dip.

Furthermore, there's no sign of a bear market in NSE; the market is currently taking a pause and is likely to resume its bullish trend in the next few days.
