I’m Not Desperate To Be President — Peter Obi Insists by Kuginzi: 9:04pm On Mar 05
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last general election, Mr Peter Obi, on Tuesday, insisted that he was not desperate to be Nigeria’s President, but that he desired the country to work.

Obi spoke in Abuja while reacting to his award as the ‘Leadership Politician of the Year 2023’ at the annual Leadership Conference and Awards.

I am not desperate to be president, I am desperate to make Nigeria work,” Obi stated while adding that young Nigerians should be productively engaged in order to eliminate poverty and crime,” Obi said.

The former Anambra State governor also said it was a shame for Ukraine, a war-torn country, to donate grains to Nigeria when Niger State alone can feed the whole of Africa.

“We have no reasons to be poor. Poverty should never be part of our lives especially in the North,” Obi said, adding that with over 7,442,00 square meters of land, Nigeria can feed Africa.

“Ukraine has no reason to give us grain. Niger State can feed Nigeria, Africa with over 73, 000 square meters of land.

“The two biggest states in the North-East, Borno with over 70,000 square metres of land and Taraba, are four times the size of Belgium that is exporting food. There is so much we can do in the country if we have the right leadership.

“The more you remove people out of poverty, the more you have fewer criminals,” Obi pointed out.

Leave them to Suffer. When they start selling their children to feed, they will realize Obi would have saved them.

We have all seen that Tinubu is an empty vessel, worse than Buhari

Hehehe

You are not desperate to be the president but you were caught begging YES DADDY with your feminine cracked voice.

You are not desperate but you have suddenly become a condolence PRO on social media and keep fooling yourself on issues you are ignorant of just to score cheap political points

Shebi people are killing their only sons now because they ate their last meals and selling their children for 50k, it would have been worse if you were the president.

They packaged you this fraud for us just to achieve their evil agenda.

Then you claim to have spent 800 million naira of your own personal money for election campaign and legal tussles.

If that's not desperation, I don't know what it is. Not to mention your jumping around parties

Hypocrite and political prostitute.

This guy lies too much. He also insults the North as usual. As if poverty is not in the SE. Atleast in the North, they haven't started jumping in front of moving vehicles and killing children because of pot of soup, or selling kids for 50k.

If the North hijacks trailer of food, maybe it's because they saw what happened in Owerri in 2021 where truck of Onions was hijacked.

Same man doubled the poverty rate in Anambra according to Soludo.

Hypocrite.

Hypocrisy is when you don't see anything wrong with yourself or your support for a desperate notorious narcotics drug trafficker, a criminal whose mantra is just to grab power, snatch power, and run with it, but see everything wrong with Peter Obi, who has repeatedly reiterated that he is not desperate for power.

cheesy I can only laugh in Swahili.

All politicians are corrupt, but some are more corrupt than the other. I don't support any politician(Tinubu o, Atiku o, Obi o) because none has nothing to offer. They've all ruled one place or the other before in their 50s and 40s with nothing tangible to show for it, so I wonder how people think that in their 60s and 70s they will be able to perform magic on Nigeria.
