Thanks for the prompts response. You are very correct, it is the Nigerian bit that is delaying..........Not so much fun for the wallet.

damkollins:
Please use WES to evaluate your UK Msc degree as it will take no time to complete it.
It is accepted as your Bsc is expected to be pre-requisite requirement for your Msc admission and the verification will show it.
I'm sure it is your Nigerian Bsc that slow down your CES evaluation.
Cheers.

If you want to use WES(www.wes.org),evaluate only the highest (Msc) but if you are using others like ICAS or CES,you may be compulsorily required to evaluate both degrees. In times of cost, its the same amount that you will use for one certificate that you will use for multiple certificates provided the request is at the same time and by the same candidate.

Evaluating only your Msc in nigeria does not guarantee a faster evaluation time as it solely depend on how you can follow up especially during the verification communication between WES and your school. An applicant evaluate both degrees who is proactive enough to manage the verification time will get it done faster than an applicant with only one degree who waits for WES and his/her school to complete it at their own timing.

Your Certificate MUST be sent by you to WES.....it's part of the document requirement specified.Sending the Transcripts by your academic institution is another document required by WES in conjunction with your degree. You may not be able to progress if you skip it.
The photocopy of your degree certificate(s) you sent to them is what WES will send to your school for verification purposes.
Cheers.

Yes you are right.
A closer(see link and pix attached) look suggest that the only meaningful update is the fee payment form which have the date updated at the footer.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp
*Documents Checklist doesn't have the date reflected at the footer.
*Additional Dependants form doesn't have the date reflected at the footer...besides,80% of applicants doesnt need it.
*The Fee Payment form have the date updated at the footer.
Cheers.

Hi Damkollins. you are doing a good job here.
i need your honest advice here as i am already getting confused. i noticed you told some pple to verify both msc and bsc to get maximum points.
does it mean if i also verify my Msc which is from a uk university alone i may nt get the maximum 23points?
pls also advice on the possible point for either i or my wife so we can decide the principal applicant

ME
Msc from UK
Bsc From Nigeria
ielts- not done yet
age-33yrs
profession- Property administrator
years of experience- 7years

SPOUSE
bsc- Nigeria
other qualification- ACCA
ielts-not done yet
age-28yrs
profession- Chattered Accountant/banking
years of experience- 6years

to also add my wife has a brother who just relocated to Canada last month. is it possible to claim point on that as well.

and i hope it is not too late to start the process

thank for your anticipated response

First and foremost ,let us get it clear on this academic evaluation......the quantity of your academic qualifications does not mean you will have higher number of points. What actually matters is the Canadian equivalence of your degree. If the equivalence of your degree evaluation is Master's degree.....you will have 23 points. If the equivalence of your degree evaluation is Bsc degree........you will have 21points.
There are cases where equivalence of the Msc degree does not equal to Msc......for such candidates,it's 21 points instead of 23 especially if only his or her primary Msc degree alone was evaluated.Such candidates may qualified for an additional 1 point......22points if only he or she evaluated both Bsc and Msc degrees and have both equivalent to Canadian Bsc because of a clause which states that if one of the Msc and Bsc have a duration of 3 years minimum or more.
From my experience, all regular Msc and Bsc degrees in Nigeria will give you 23 and 21 points respectively after evaluation its better to evaluate the highest to reduce evaluation duration which may be more if both are evaluated because of the evaluation requests to 2 schools coupled with the response time of our schools to such requests which is not impressive .
I have buddies who evaluated 2 degrees but were delayed by the lesser awarding institution while some delayed because of the higher awarding institution.
The lesson learnt and reality is that evaluating both does not positively affect your application with CIC while evaluation of just one does not negatively affect your application processing with CIC.It's just different of 2 points for you to be eligible to send your application.
After all my stories and elucidations above,I'm confident that if you evaluate only your Msc from UK,you will have 23 points.
Just to be sure ,check WES website and do a dummy virtual evaluation of your Msc degree to be sure of what you will get in reality.

Both of you are good enough to apply as primary applicants but you only have an edge over Wifey coz of just 2 additional points of your Msc which may change if she passed her IELTS exam than you.As it is now,you only need 17points in your IELTS while Wifey needs 19points in hers.......so ts relatively easy for both of you.Wifey may not be able to claim 5 points yet from her sibling who just relocated as he needed to have stayed longer for your wife to claim the points.........she doesn't even need the points from him if she did her IELTS exam and score 19 points.
It's not too late to apply but i feel your NOC is more favourable ..........and Wifey NOC too seems okay .
April 30th,2015 is the last day so i believe if you start now,you can apply or send your application latest December ,2014.....which is fine.
The decision is entirely yours.
Cheers.

Hello Uncles and Aunties,

I beg I need una help for here, you guys are really doing a great job on this thread with a lot of information one can't find on the CIC Page. I have a relative who is a Nurse Manager in the US, NY to be precise. She came to the U.S at age 12 or so, went to High School in NY, got her Associate Degree in Nursing and just have 3months to have her BS in Nursing. Please she only has like a work permit, she has reviewed the requirement on the CIC official FSW Page and likewise myself has gone through that page. I just have some question on of her:

1). Is she qualified to Apply from the U.S?
2). Does she need to write the IELTS Exam since she grad from a US High School?
3). Does she need to convert her Associate Degree awarded by a US College by WES before she can apply?

Please Note: She has been a Nurse for 7 years, she has the work experience and some other stuff. Please I need guidance on she can apply for this FSW Program. I will be grateful for any vital information that is made available. Thanks to all forumites

House,

Please anyone with experience with payment with Bank Draft should advise me. I am the principal applicant and I got this Bank draft from GTBANK.

In the CIC payment form, it was stated " Name of Payer (if different from Principal Applicant)" and "Address of payer (If different from Principal Applicant)"

My question: Am I the payer? I am asking because there is no place on the bank draft where my name is written.

Secondly, The letter from my employer does not have any e-mail address or phone number. Will this fly?

Email and phone number are essential in a reference letter. if it is not already on the letter head, it can be written on the body of the letter
e.g should you require additional information, you may reach me on Tel:......, email: ........

Hi. I finished from UNIBEN. I will advice that you send someone to monitor the transcript process because they are usually slow in it. Depending on your department though;as some could be more difficult than others. I am from the Engineering constituency in case you are too. I've got a contact in that section. Hope this helps.

As for ETX-NG, they are only good in fabricating lies to make it look like they are working.........Result being collated, Result verification........all lies. All they do is to apply like you would have done yourself online (or through any other medium) and nothing more. Conclusively, you are better off applying yourself or get someone to do it for you..........This is from experience.

1.)Applicants are welcomed to apply from any part of the world including those living in U.S....She is eligible to apply from U.S.
2.)Yes...she needs to write IELTS(general)...realistically,she can't meet the 67 point minimum eligibility passmark without IELTS scores.
3.)She needs to evaluate it with WES to know the Canadian equivalence standard before she can apply. You can use or let use the link below to do a free degree evaluation to know what it will be before registering with WES.
http://www.wes.org/ca/evaluations/preliminary.asp
Her 7 years experience will earn her the maximum points of 15 in experience factor.
Alternatively, she may decide to wait till after 3 months when she will get her Bsc to evaluate it if her points will not be ebough after using the link i gave above.
Cheers.

Try to check your result online via the link (https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/checkresults.aspx)....i know a lot of buddies with same timeline as yours who have seen their results.
For your transcripts, its always better to manually monitor the progress yourself.
https://www.etx-ng.com/ is an official body with their own bottle necks too.If you check their site also, they already notifies applicants that it will take time(see pix attached).

In the section A of the fee payment form, just write/type your given names and surname in the requested column.leave Name of payer....address of payer blank.

I am sure the letter is on a letter head paper of your company which i believe should have those info.If it is not there, tell the person that sign it to write those info by hand beneath his/her signature.

Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by meta4(m): 11:53am On Aug 07, 2014

How do you apply for remark, how long does it take and whats the cost for remarking one skill?
