Jay aside the port Health check, how will u rate ARIK to Nyc from 0-10? Pls is the flight like local ARIK planes and the in flight service ie food, leg room, space and d human beings inside? Pls forgive me for my plenty qts am trying to make up my mind. Tnx

Actually ooo, i seem to have been lucky with Arik o going by what every body says, all the time they were dead on time contrary to delays and cancellations that people say is their trademark, for leg room am 6 feet 4 so I ALWAYS choose d seats by the exit door where's there's no seat in front so I can literarily stretch out fully, though wen I went with wifey they said for take off and landing she had to change seats. In service food not spectacular but I bellefull, rice and chicken then rice and thick egg, plus d usual bread and butter , cake etc, plus wine if u want cool
Juice and water too dey lol
But no inflight entertainment, na only dat one pain me pass, human beings hmmm how u take know, usually 99% naijas soo.... One time three women were gisting in youba at the top of their voices, the gists were funny to me sha until I wanted to sleep that's wen it became bothersome.
Their plus is
1.direct flight
2 cheaper than most
3.friendly POE
Am not finicky so I'll give dem an 8 ooo
Port health na formality so just go early pay your 1.2k and they give it to you, make 2 copies and shikena

Thank you so much for your advice, God bless you.
You said it's better to go ahead of time if I can afford it. What do I tell them? Should I tell them I'm a foreigner who what's to come back to have a baby or should I just act like I'm doing prenatal and I'm around until I give birth ? Cos paying for prenatal sounds like I want to stay for it but I don't intend to stay(should I tell them I don't intend to stay?)
What's the other alternative to going for prenatal? Should I just contact them through email?
I can't find anything to read up so I'm highly confused.
Furthermore, a baby with US passport, how will you bring him/her back to Nigeria? Do you need to get a Nigerian visa or passport or can the baby travel on your own passport?
Nna mehn this ya question na jamb qwestion o. Anyway make I try answer you.

You said you already have the visa, during your interview did you declare your pregnancy? If no, kindly mail the consulate with a notification of birthing intent for the letter, read backwards you'll see so many mentions of it.

If you declared your birthing intention already and you still wanna go upfront, then at the POE when asked what you're here for and how long you intend staying, simply say you're here to do an appraisal of the hospital and pre register/pay all fees prior to due date. You're here for about 2 weeks. Show them your cash for payments, doctors/hospital correspondence etc.

Biko I go stop here hand dey pain me. Start from part 1 there are plenty tins to read up na cheesy

Going for my first doctors appointment at WHMC today after a long work-related training. So glad I'm finally going to see a doctor, I miss antenatal sessions grin.

Came in through Houston POE a few weeks back (on my way to Philadelphia), the experience was smooth didn't spend up to 25 mins through the whole process. Got stamped in for 6 months. No secondary inspections, only had usd 4k cash which I'd bought as PTA, the rest of my money was on credit card (since that's what the hospital and doctor preferred as mode of payment).

Came back to Houston over the weekend and my hosts have been superb.

*Forgive my abridged report. You can reach me for specific details if required.

All glory to God who grants us favour with him and with men.

Any Houston preggies using WHMC Nov/Early December? Please shout out.

Congratulations in advance for successful visa approvals, smooth poe experiences and supernatural childbirths.

Cheers.

If you find shippers who can do sea freight, it'll be cheaper for you cos they don't charge by weight but by the dimension of the box.

Just make sure you do it well ahead of time cos it take 2mths plus to get to Lagos.

OK. Thanks
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Enyinne(f): 5:24pm On Nov 10, 2015
It's nt worth it as it might cost u more buying from usa. It's cheaper in naija cos many people bring it in from different countries and they load it in container thereby making the landing cost to become low.

QueenWest:
Please I'm undecided about getting a baby crib from Houston and shipping to Nigeria. Kindly share your thoughts. Those that bought from the US, was it worth it and what shops can one get a good deal from if I decide to get one here.

Instead of saying you coming for prenatals, simply tell them you came to visit family and you will also use the opportunity to scout for a hospital that you can travel back and birth in.
Alternatively, you do not need to travel to US before getting a Dr /hospital. Simply google search hospitals in Alaska, get dre phone contacts and call them one by one to get dre price quotes, negotiate and ask for appointment letter when u get one that fits ur bugdet. Make sure the hospital is not too far from where u ll be staying. You could also ask ur intending host if they can help in getting a hospital.
After giving birth, you either apply for a Nigerian passport for the baby if u are close to/or in Atlanta,NY,or Washington or apply for a Nigerian visa on the baby's US passport if u are in other states.

Thanks again. Actually I've had visas for a very long time now. My last few visas we're drop box so do I still need to inform the embassy ?
I was trying to find out from you what I should tell the hospital not the POE. I see I confused you. Should I tell the hospital I'm registering for prenatal or I'm registering for just delivery or I'm registering for both prenatal and delivery? I heard some hospitals wouldn't agree if they know you are coming from another country to their hospital just for delivery. So they may turn me down. I'm asking so i don't just waste my money traveling in the 4th month if I'm gonna be turned down by the hospital.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your response. When I said "what do I tell them?" I meant at the hospital. Should I tell the hospital I'm registering for prenatal or just birth? If I travel in the 4th month and see a physician do I tell the physician I'm here to register for prenatal or for delivery? I heard hospitals don't agree to individuals registering for delivery without doing prenatals with them.
In my 4th month , At the POE I'm just gonna say holidays. But when I'm going in my 8th month I would tell them delivery at the POE cos I've already registered and paid.
I'm more concerned about the hospital so I don't just travel for nothing.
Also when i call the hospital over the phone do I tell them I'm coming in from Nigeria to have the baby? Or do I just sound like I'm currently in the US and I'm just booking?
