I am a graduate today because of my Hubby....
He trained me from purchasing my jamb form to my final year project WITHOUT EVER HAVING SEX WITH ME talk less of pregnanting me...
Today I'm pillar in his house and that singular act makes my home a heaven...We've been married for 4yrs nd very soon we'll be counting 3kids..but it all looks like we got married yesteday..Since we got married, things have turned around for both of us...I am now that classical wife even young boys trip 4..I work and earn very well...He earns very well too. Today, I'm proud of him. together we can acquire assets, pay bills and plan as 1...
My hubby gave me the rent his bros gave him so he could hussle for job for my year1 fees n slept in an uncompleted apartment, his salary was 40k and he gladly sends me 25k having nothing but Tfare and a little to eat from the bukka..He would never buy clothes nor shoes for my sake..But today we can give 40k to a needy without itch..

My hubby's friends and family envy him and wish they had me 4 a wife without knowing what sacrifice he made in the past...

Unfaithful people always think everyone is unfaithful...If u don't have sound moral principles and self control, you need to work on urself and seek God's grace...I'm 1 of the most beautiful ladies God made and after kids I am still more beautiful than you can imagine But all that is vain n a Woman that fears God shall be praised..
To ur question...no guy ever placed a finger on my shoulders not to talk about sleeping about..
I was focused nd graduated among the top 5 in Dept...

I'm not buying her into marriage with money. We've been dating since early last year and have been talking about a future together. Now she's in school but is having difficulties paying up her bills. I can afford to assist her throughout her 4 years but my friends think it wouldn't turn out good in the end. I'm considering so many things. Her mom is a widow
And what if some other guy offers to assist her - she'd definitely leave me

The bolded makes me worry about the sort of relationship you guys have. If she will leave you for someguy who buys her sorry, pays her fees, then what are u doing in said relationship?

I have a girlfriend that I plan to marry. She's a 100 Level student in UNILAG but is having difficulties paying her up school fees. Her mom, a widow, is doing her best but it's not enough. Since I'm a graduate and now working, I feel like helping out. It's an obligation I earnestly wish to take but my friends keep telling me that she would eventually dump my sorry ass for another guy before graduation, and there's nothing I can do. Very confused. I love her and I know she loves me too.
Please advice.
Don't do it! I know she loves you but don't do it if you love her. If you wanna help her sort her financial issues fine but don't do it and expect her not to leave you for a better guy after she's done with school. It is better she leaves you now than for her to leave you after all your efforts.

Op she is your girl and you have seen her condition. I advice you for the sake of friendship pay her first year school fees to show the level of your care. Then introduce marriage. If she hesitant no matter the reason, then bolt and flee from her to avoid the story that touches

Irrespective of what naysayers say, it's really a function of the type of people you BOTH are. You know who you are and you have an idea of who she is. Is she very impressionable? Does she have firm principles. What of you?
[/quote]

Cammo, The posters I quoted above expressed what I wanted to say but seeing this statement in your last post is a source of concern

"And what if some other guy offers to assist her - she'd definitely leave me"

Hope you are not assisting her out of insecurity? The fact that you even have this thought of her leaving u if another guy helps her says a lot about you /your motive and how you see this lady in question.

If you are concerned that she may leave u after sometime I may still relate with that because relationships do break but being concerned that she will DEFINITELY leave you because someone else offers financial assistance is ........

There's a certainty in that statement which I find very disturbing. You already know she will follow the tide of CASH and thats not healthy for any relationship.

Yes there's a risk in sponsoring the education of a girl you want to marry, you asked the wrong question OP.

The question should be, are you willing to take that risk?

@Cammo, there's nothing wrong in helping out a needing student. If you wish to assist her, do it for the sake of love. My only advice is that you keep a close contact. Communication plays a good role in sustaining a relationship. Don't let your friends deceive you. Shalom!

Then marry her and let her continue the rest of the education from your home, since you don't want to loose her,you must not throw party before you can do marriage, and let her know your mind if she truly love you she will wait for you or accept your marriage proposal.

Op, Love is not proud nor boastful...
Is not selfish nor does it seek its own way...
Never help any1 and rant about it...
Telling your friends your plan in the first place is wrong cos their rep 4 her might reduce...
Till today no friend or family is aware of what my hubby did 4 me cos that would have made me look like a slave before his influencial family instead of a queen..nd trust me I would have quit cos I won't want to marry into bondage...

@pet4ril I think because of what the guy did 4u, you shouldn't dump him like any other guy...He deserves explanations, prayers, patience some form of dialogue. And your quitting must not be based on other options available but because you are truly tired of his bossy attitude and if he feels sorry about it, get on track with him...Even if u no longer together, always relate with him in respect and appreciate the fact that he was there for u...Never try to bite his finger, puff urself be4 him or cause him any emotional trauma...

There is risk in giving when you expect something in return.

I don't know your plans but if you really want to get married, should you really be dating an 100 level girl?

How long can you wait before you settle down? Remember she has another extra year to spend in s€x camp?

Lastly, is she willing to get married with you? When? 3 years? 4 years or 5 years after graduation/service? shocked LOL

the emboldened got me rolling with laughter.....dude, you're funny

all the girls commenting on this thread just don't want to be truthful to themselves. i saw one saying she dumped her bf because he got too arrogant and bossy for sponsoring her education. the story is obviously one-sided....do u think we're fools? she refused to tell us what she did that made him raise his hand on her. @op, the best bait is to impregnate and marry her now. I've seen a lot of legally married pregnant students, it's not forbidden. it might be burdensome but at least you're rest assured that she's fully yours and whatever you spend on her wouldn't be a waste. otherwise, the chances that she would fvck around behind you is high. after all, you're not her first. never trust these girls enough to waste a fortune on them.......fvck love!
