well what a guy earns before you marry him does not matter but how you see the person you want to get married to..Where will he be in the next 2 to 3 years if you are together. Your support, encouragement, Management etc as a wife will either motivate or downcast him while you are with him. Both of you should know why you have decided to come to gether and build a home and family.

I got married in the year 2012 when my salary was 60k/monthly. I was leaving inside a room/Palour with shared kitchen and the house rent was 36k yearly. Sincerely, I never taught any woman will agree to date me not talk of marrying me. but a lady I met online from Surulere believed in me, married me and moved in with me.

I planned, organized, paid and did my wedding myself without no financial contribution from anybody. All my wedding cost was just 50k (not white wedding) but we have our wedding certificate. I got married at age 31yrs and she was 29yrs.

when we moved into the apartment, we only have bed, and my tv only.

Today, we are singing a new song entirely. That is why today if my wife does any funny thing to me, I don't have choice but to let go.

We have 2 kids. Marriage is not rice and beans....it is up and doing....That is why I advice people. If you don't have the heart of forgiveness plz don't marry. in Marriage, you have to let go a lot of things..I mean senseless things.

Personally me as a Lady I can't get married when what I earn in a month is below 50K. I want to live more than my parents and not far below them
If I have a fiance that is earning such amount I will advise and support him to start a business of his own that will bring more income

You are the one who needs to explore more and read more. What else provides good living if not money? You are a fool if you think any couple living in Nigeria would be happy under a 35,000 a month budget.

This isn't about being rich, this is about living a comfortable lifestyle. 35,000 a month can't give you a comfortable lifestyle.

I wonder what kind of poverty mentality most of you have on this forum sef. See this one talking about exposure. In the same Nigeria we are talking about, there are people who spend hundreds of thousands at clubs and restaurants per day. And this one is talking about living good with 35,000 a month, lol. Even ordinary tecno phone is more expensive than the monthly salary you are comfortable with.

Hey op, I like your topic and even though I did not want to respond, I am compelled to.
First off, the ladies that made those useless comments and some saying trash here on nairaland are kids.
Secondly, a man with drive and ambition is better off than a man with millions. Why ? A man with drive and ambition can take almost anything at his disposal and turn it to something but some idiots even with heavy salaries can't do nothing with them.

I don't know your story and you don't know mine but we all should learn. Cash is not always the first thing. Passion and vision is.
I use myself as an example.
First job - 51k - left to complete school
Suffered very well before I got another
Second job- 67k
I was wiser now.
I resigned and took a third one which aligns with what I was chasing
Third job - 15k (LoL) call me crazy.
I left and hit Benin for a fourth job which also aligns with my business plans
Fourth job - 50k
I worked 9 months on fourth job and I left and took a fifth job also aligning with my plans
Fifth job - 25k
Left after 7 months and got a sixth also in my line of view.
Sixth job -25k
And after 4 months, my training was complete.
Started my own business
Initially, I was making 25k per day and I doubled my hustle, and make on the average 50k per day and I know I can get better if I try more...
I am really trying hard.
So those stupid girls that made the kind of comments in your topic and those making silly comments on nairaland don't know what life is talking about.
I can fly to the US and back when I want.
Same as my mom and sisters because I am a self made man now.
