In my case, I reapplied after a spell and got the visa. I didn't change a thing from the first DS160 form (except to explain why I was denied initially ).

I'd just advise you work on ties and reapply.

With enough ties and show you would eventually return to ur home country after the visitation.. Let them know u av things on u would never wana leav to run to u.s ..

I was denied on 3rd of tnis month at US lagos embassy at 10:45.am.i have all d document send by my brotherinlaw he is a Citizen while my elder sis is an LPR holder.there two kids are citizen too infact im so confused .i was denied at abuja 2016 3rd march because is based on tourist visa now i was invited for my nephew baptism and christening because im her God mother.my brotherinlaw is my sponser and also im to bring her mum who is 80yrs old to the US.now i do hear i can reapply immediately and i do hear 90days so confused.some say reapply at abuja where you apply before or lagos plss you guy should help me and tell me what to do.im self employed i have Good business that fetch millons every 6months in my current and savings also i have a young teen daughter who is in secondary school.i know thats my strong ties to my own knowledge.i have used my passport to travel to west africa countries only maybe thats the reason why.

All other important documents you deem relevant. Although documents are rarely checked but make sure you have the first two above during your interview.

Having a relative in the States is not a guarantee you will get the Visa whether a citizen or no citizen. In fact having a relative there means you really have to demonstrate strong ties to Nigeria.

Based on your info, your only strong tie is your daughter. Maybe you can reapply when your condition changes eg. more kids, business growth, marriage, more travel history, etc.

It doesn't matter ... if you go through the entire thread, you will notice that even people with no travel experience have been given visas. Therefore, no one can predict your chance of getting a visa. To maximize your chance, all you have to do is to apply for tour visa and be honest in your application

Sometimes I just wonder why the insults when giving out so called advise here under the pretence that, if the so called "refused or banned candidate don't learn the hard way they will not learn." And so? Why don't you just read their experience and give your views without insult? Abi na you pay their visa fee? If VO refuse them so what? If they are aiming for refusal/ban does it affect you?

Some people who are fortunate to be granted visas come here to brag and crucifies people yet they and at least a member of their family migrates illegally abroad (just becos this a faceless forum). You have an equal chance has everyone.. All you need to do is fill your ds160 form with sincerity and by yourself.. Prepare for the interview with necessary documents.. Pay the fee..go for ur interview and be confident.. You can surely get ur visa.
You can as well read and digest this thread well..you will have enough knowledge about this.

The little knowledge I have to be answering some questions here was absolutely gotten from all the previous posts I read..and now I can at least boost of been a little educated about the u.s visa ish..

Re apply after a little while, build more ties ..and try going for ur interview alone.. Ur sister been a u s green card holde doesn't qualify u for a visa..so try and re apply ..bring up good travelling reasons. Going for ur nephew's baptism is absolutely off point.. Its noting important to attend by you wen his parents are there..u can simply put up a form to visit them maybe for a vacation and just be sincere with your application .

U.s visa is not a do or die affair..

If it doesn't click, i pray it does tho..

Just calm..travel to other countries.. Have fun..then later u cn reapply when ur situation changes..thank you

I advice you reapply once there's a change in your situation. If not you'll most likely get the same response.

Mum got her Visa cos she's got greater ties here in Nigeria: Her Age (VOs are very knowledgeable of our tradition and they know every aged person wants to be close to his or her home before their demise) and Her family (children, grandchildren and great grand-). She's more likely to come back to Nigeria. That's why she got it even without going for an interview. But for you, they are not sure you'd come back.

Travelling to the States shouldn't be a do-or-affair. I recommend you follow Mayorr89's advice.

My dad...but I didn't bother cos I heard Embassy doesn't ask for statement..the VO was so lenient to tell me to reapply and provide statement of sponsor

Is it a must to use myclearbag to file documents while going for interview? Can one use flat file envelope?
