I and my husband wanted to go for honeymoon vacation in 2016 when we newly got married, but we were denied. I feel its cos our passport carried different surnames cos i was still answering my surname
Now i have done change of name ad gotten a new passport, we have a 7months old child, although we have not traveled together as a family, but ive gone to UK, dubai, china, benin ad ghana while my husband has gone to only benin. What do you think is our chances of getting the visa now. Any advice is welcomed

More info on the above post, she is single though, no kids, and has been to the UK four times with 6months visa, and 2 yrs visa b4 the freshly issued 5yrs visa which she is yet to travel with.... she has never overstayed as the holiday has been consistently 4to5wks yearly.

Thanks bro I appreciate your quick response. She is a citizen born and brought up in the US, she works at the children and family service county los Angeles. she is inviting me for a visit as well as her family reunion. We actually met in S.A 2years ago and we've been great friends even hoping to take it to the next level.please what should I do?

Actually was too tired to respond to your post yesterday. I asked myself even as a novice what could be your drive for wanting to now come out clean, I saw it, and you have now confirmed it. Well, just go ahead and correct the previous misrepresentation, prepare your grounds.

Be that as it may, hope less on being issued a B1/B2 easily even after the correction now and consequently because your next pursuit clearly is marrying an American (I saw this from your previous post way before you confirmed same, a VO will do better). Hopefully you are wise enough to to device other PATIENT means of achieving this and your American Dream....

Don't jump the gun.
Hope for the best, expect the worst. The issue of misrepresentation comes for 1st before ties and your host. Not only just filling single, you still have to acknowledge that issue. U raise it up. If the vo pities you, Ese Jesu. If not, take time out and let your circumstances change

I think it's a case of nerves. I believe your friend wasn't answering questions properly.
Let her reapply and mention her prior travel history and the fact that she has not overstayed. They will probably cross check and make sure the visa is real.
But before that, make she study the thread and learn how to answer question cos she came out sounding unsure. Hope the UK visa no be fake o!

I really don't see the issue. he is yet to use the visa and wants them all to travel together. I mean, he can still go and they meet him there and abscond.
Nwanne a far?

I dey fine my sister, good morning.

Well, they don't have a visa yet, his going and them meeting him there then absconding is a much more taller task. If I got his number 2 question right, he's asking if his having not used the visa before applying for his family wouldn't raise an issue at the interview on his family application. And I say not necessarily but possible....

Thanks lady G and all the gurus that have contributed I appreciate, that's exactly what I intend to do but I want to know if it's OK. I will raise it and explain how my information was misrepresented immediately she asked if I am married. I hope for the best n expect worse but at least I have corrected it.
What do you think?

Good day, Gurus
My question might sound kinda weird thoo but please.
I have my B1/B2 visa interview next 2 weeks.
A friend is advising me to just wear a neat native attire,
Am asking, is it better to be on suit or a native attire?

Hey guys, I am a Ghanaian and have been following your thread for a while now, b'cos Ghana has nothing like this, anyway, this is my transcript for future applicants;

Transcript
C.O: how are you?
Me: Nervous
C.O: C'mon I am a cool guy, smiles
Me: okay let's play it cool then
C.O: what's your purpose of going to the USA?
Me: I am going for a medical elective clerkship
C.O: meeedddicaal elective clerkship
Me: Yes medical elective clerkship in general surgery and family medicine
C.O: where are you going
Me: **** University medical school
C.O: (repeats name of school),fancy school, how long will you be gone for
Me: 4 weeks
C.O: why were you refused in 2015
Me: I couldn't overcome the immigration intent presumed of all applicants but I didn't have any intention of migrating
C.O: you have a sister in Virginia
Me: Yes, but she has moved to Kansas because of school
C.O: are you married
Me: No, I am a student
C.O: do you have any children
Me: laugh, no I am a student
C.O: (with straight face) have you travelled outside the shores of Ghana
Me: Yes, Germany France and Spain
C.O: your visa is approved, I am keeping your passport, you can puck your passport at this location(gives me white sheet) in two business days
Me: Thank you, Gives him a military salute!

About nervousness, bosses you can't do anything about it, but just try your best and keep your cool and answer to your best of knowledge. He didn't ask me any question from my ds-160, because my mom is a LPR and my sister is a US citizen but he didn't ask him me about my other relatives, all he asked were just general questions trying to know why I have applied and my previous refusal. I wish everyone else the best of luck

I don't know what to say except Imela Chineke!

I think it depends on you. I think the most important thing is look neat and dress smart. Mine is next week too and am hitting it hard on my native attire.

dont get upset with what I'm going to say , first you greeted him and he didn't respond? I feel either you didn't brush your teeth , or your appearance is 10/100 , because sometimes they might imagine everything when you are just stepping in . Next time make sure you brush your teeth, tongue , buy expensive cloths , expensive perfume. You will see how you will be welcomed , you can't produce tinubu mouth odor and want a visa . Thank you .

That is false, you are screened and there is no way your halitosis or body odour can be perceived. People who were well dressed were refused, people with significant travel histories not visit to morroco, Togo and Burkina were refused. You just can't understand, but just know there is always a pre-assessment of your ds-160 the day before your interview. I just checked my visa status and it states case created February 28 which was yesterday

God bless and thanks for the prompt response. The VISA is not fake, I actually went with her to pick her Passport at TLScontact. She never used agents. I want to believe it’s a case of nerves like you said, she will study the thread on answering questions and try again.
