The poster should know that economic hardship in Nigeria is the most salient factor most Nigerians consider before making that move. In general, handsome salaries usually make people to sit tight because we believe here that: "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."
While I've never met with the poster, my conjecture about her is that she has left Nigeria long ago. Nigeria today is not encouraging for job-seekers. Only those that are benefitting from the status quo are averring that all is well.
Those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds will always leave Nigeria to look for opportunities because there is no hope for them. As for me, I'm completely unmoved by every blandishment the poster is trying to use in her desperation to stop me from immigrating to the west if I see the opportunity.
There is a growing consensus that the situation is dire-and looking bleaker everyday. When it comes to making decision that affects other people, you had better base those decisions on consensus reality. The only way to escape the economic hardship in Nigeria is to leave Nigeria at all cost.
Come back to Nigeria you will see that our government's ruthless policies have caused the population to try any available wild escapade. It is better to receive execrable treatment outside than to receive it from your own people. If only you have searched for jobs and did not get it just because you don't have anybody at the top to help you, you will understand what I mean.
If only you have paid for electricity bill that you did not consume you will know that it is better to stay in a place where you will be paying as you consume. If only you have lived outside your state and you got a treatment that placed you as a second citizen you will understand what I mean.
As I'm typing this, my continue stay in Nigeria is contingent upon my ability to raise what will take me out to any first world country. Even though it is to enter into servitude and work as an unpaid labour for sometimes many Nigerians are ready to do it. Here in Nigeria, we are ready to work but we are not offered work.
Couldn't agree more

Especially the part about draconian government policies

And

The willingness for the youth to work but no opportunities

Who said she can beg for food? If she has friends, they will certainly feed her FOR A WHILE? Students do it all the time both home and abroad.

I am going to restate this, pay attention before calling her lazy and deceitful.

For someone who is not American citizen, who has loan to be cleared, who is probably paying her accommodation and feeding herself.....it is possible to hit a low. It happens all the time to foreign students and even locals. It doesn't mean they are lazy. It means that they have a can do attitude to forge ahead in spite of so many challenges.

I have seen it happening. I know those who are currently facing those challenges. They are very hard working. They could prostitute or go into crime but they choose not to.

franchasng:
Not true. You can't beg for food in America whether as legal or illegal unless u are very lazy and not ready to take on menial jobs that full everywhere.

She can work in African restaurants, etc.

She must be lazy and looking for free food, free shelter, free education, free money maybe as she gets free things from her sugar daddies and toasters back in Nigeria.

That girl is a liar. A lazy girl and a deceitful human, quote me anywhere angry

What do you mean by this statement sir? That Arabs and Asians are more intelligent than Africans/Nigerians? Are you mad? Empowered with the same conditions and environment will it be so? What makes Nigerian graduates “unemployable”? The only reason why foreigners have described us with this clause is that we don't have and has never a government. That's why our educational institutions and indeed all institutions nationwide are in a mess!

I found it annoying that a fellow countryman is upholding this same idea at the detriment of hardworking Nigeria students angry

That can be ...and is usually the life of one who has no support/connections....is broke and do not have papers. It is worse in the US...I can say for sure in NYC.....being in such a situation than being in Lagos. I believe this is her situation. Why?..if she got student loan...it means she has papers. If she has papers..she can gain access to Shelters...which will provide her with overnight shelter...bathroom and toilets. She is likely to get 'food stamps' to allow her to feed daily.Who goes homeless in their bid to repay student loans?...not even doctors...let alone those who took the loan but never even completed the course. But indeed.... you are homeless...without papers...and friends....you can do wayyy better in Lagos. To pee is a problem...forget the about #2....or taking a shower.... place to sleep...food to eat...these basic stuff can be taken care of wayyyy easier in Lagos...than in the US.

It is not dat bad bro. There is alwayz light at the end of the tunnel. I have alwayz believed that you can make it anywhere in life, it all depends on the mindset and mental conviction.

I lived in Benin City where every average guy thinks he must jand b4 making it. But for me i just grew up with my own conviction that hustling abroad is not mine but with strong conviction that i can make all my cool cash here and go any country for vacation only. Bro, it is working for me, there is no cooler place than home (my Nigeria).

You must not be in USA to be a millionaire. Rich people are destined and believe to be rich in any environment.

#Prosperity is more of a mental thing than environmental

If in doubt ask #Adenuga, Dangote, Otedola, GEJ, Igbinedion, Danjuma, Alakija, Cge, and the list is endless.

#Peace

some Nigerians get foreign jobs from Nigeria... the person you quoted is not exposed and is also filled with self hate.

another reason why foreigners have described us with this clause is that they try their best to demean and discourage Africans and make Africans look to them for help and also make people like CanadianEnginee repeat it to Africans..

CanadianEnginee may not be Nigerian or African..
I believe you. Most times, once they get permanent residency permits that begin to think they are no longer Africans or that they are now better than Africans living in Africa. That's what gives them the impetus to spill trash about online about Africans.

http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.186.102&rep=rep1&type=pdf

THIRTY YEARS OF RESEARCH ON RACE DIFFERENCES IN COGNITIVE ABILITY:
I know this is a taboo topic but people need to face up to reality so that we may at least attempt to adjust our current social systems to accommodate different people with different cognitive abilities. No point disputing against facts. We can stick our heads in the sand and pretend that all the scientific researches done are fake or ideologically driven and let our social problems worsen until it's irreversible, or we can accept the facts and start planning ahead as early as possible.

Reading through some emotional answers I decided to give my own opinion on the topic:

As far as I read many studies did show africans are less intelligent by quite a margin in IQ, without definite explanation of course.
The average IQ seems to differ by up to 40% in comparison to the best ranking countries. Some asians are leading then europeans follow
.

There is a lot of hard evidence that africans are way superior in sports than europeans as well, afaik there is not even a single records being held for a single non african in any running distance competition. Last time I checked there was only a single white in entire running history for a short duration.

There are very clearly major differences.
You can already see massive changes in nose, hair, colors, facial structures and see the constitution difference.

By now we definitely know that non africans have quite a bit of non homo sapiens DNA from mating with Neanderthals aside of a giantic trip by foot through the whole world which means massive evolutionary pressure and adaption to some quite hostile climate changes originating from a very stable climate.

It’s beyond naive to believe that the DNA differences are only of optical and muscular nature.
By now we even know that aside of the natural selection just the neanderthal DNS on it’s own does have effects on our brain with quite some studies on that topic by now.

Everything speaks for caucasian race to be of higher intelligence: studies, success as civilizations and natural selection pressure.
IQ tests I’ve seen show white people to have roughly 1/3 higher IQ than africans, some asian countries even more than that.

As we know the average white person is at IQ ~100 which is a really poor intelligence level.
Half of them are BELOW 100 which is plain stupid.

Just 2% of europeans are beyond IQ 130, which is about the level where some people seem to start thinking properly. (personal experience)

How much is social, how much is cultural how much is genetic .. we don’t know and any scientist talking about this risks his entire career (happened to quite a few).

It’s discriminating in popular believe to say a race is less intelligent, it’s perfectly fine to say a race is superior in sports. Doesn’t make sense at all.

Final words:

To say that currently the average african is by far less intelligent than an average european is not racism, that’s very hard fact based. It’s simply true.
This does not mean that a randomly selected individual from one group is less intelligent than one from the other group, it just says that the probability is quite a bit higher.

Currently most people do not need a lot of brain, most jobs don’t require intelligence.
When it comes to those positions/studies where a person needs intelligence we have to decide individually irrelevant of race or gender.

My personal guess is that the likelyhood to find a highly intelligent black person is close to the likelyhood of finding a highly intelligent caucasian or asian, it’s picking raisins anyway

if only the she would agree to read instead of throwing more insults.
