All these guys here telling op that the guy is using her for papers pwease and pwease dont spoil a nigga's hustlecheesy.

Since you...and others think it’s so funny can you explain to me WHY men would choose to “hustle” this way? By preying on someone’s desire to find a help mate? Is that not cruel? Could life be that bad you would exploit someone’s emotions for a dollar?

I’m just wondering where the mindset comes from and why men who choose to do this think it’s okay??

Not everyone is bad don't believe what these frustrated asshats are telling you. There are lot of good men here.

Well I do love international dating of a thang just that the chance hasn't come yet.
However he could be real, just try to play along and be careful.. that's all

Not everyone in this country are bad. Even in your country, a company scammed me. Will i say that everyone there are scammers?. The guy might mean well. My advice is this, do not allow love over take your sense of reasoning in the dealing with the guy.

If you are into him, give him a chance.

All I can say is: I'm an admin of a Christian Singles dating group on Facebook and I have had to expose many Nigerians just to keep sanity alive in that group. Most ppl in the group are Americans. Some of these my Nigerian brothers come to my wall and issue all sorts of threats that they'll find me and...
My advice to you is to do a thoroughly detailed research on the dude. Take every and any red flag you see seriously. You know him better than we all do and some ppl are genuine. Just be very careful

Thanks for your comment. I actually did do as much digging as I could. 1) to make sure he was real and 2) to see if I could be being played.

Through his Facebook I was able to see he interacts often with family and friends. Lots of tagged pictures with him at school (which showed he’s being truthful about college) lots of religious post (which makes sense as to why he was on a Christian site) and political things too. So all of that checked out to be normal and let me know he’s real.

I did notice some of his friends joke about this whole “yahoo boy” thing which was concerning. There’s a girl he’s tagged in a lot of his post and pictures that he says is just a friend and that language there is contextual. Calling a girl the term “girlfriend” doesn’t mean that’s an actual girlfriend. Lol I call BS but then I’ve continued to deal with him. Trust me. There’s more to this story and once I find someone with a comment and feel I can trust I’ll message them privately to open up more.

If you want to know the the truth then My Advice is:
1. Go to google search and type in " Download This is Nigeria by Falz mp3" without quotes.
2. Get a fresh set of headphone and plug it in your phone. Make sure to tune it to the highest volume.
3. Open a fresh tab in your browser and search for the lyrics.
4. Play the music and follow up with the music.
You can come back for interpretation if you still dont understand.
5. Now, if you can deal with that, go ahead with the relationship but if not dissolve to infinity now while you still can.

I get it...but America or any other country doesn’t guarantee anyone instant success. I think that’s what people who choose to use people for a green card don’t understand. When he and I discuss how much things cost here he’s always shocked.

America does not necessarily equal greener pastures as to succeed you must work really really hard and I think that goes for WHEREVER you are.

Now that I have your attention lol. I knooooow you all are probably slammed with these questions all the time but I thought I’d give it a shot.

I’m from America and I met this guy...he’s Nigerian of course...completely random...on a dating site (a complete random Christian dating site at that). Initially I didn’t realize where he was from until he asked if we could talk via Facebook. SO I was like of course...he gave me his name and though it was a common Nigerian name (I learned this AFTER getting to know him) I still didn’t realize he lived in Nigerian until I asked him where he was from and...bam! He’s in a whole other country.

So here I’ve been getting to know this guy...I’m really into him and he’s in another country. Of course as soon as I google international dating regarding someone in Nigerian NOTHING but red flags pop up (which is so unfair that an entire country has such a bad name when it comes to dating internationally) BUT I am 7 years older than him, he is still in college and it makes me wonder...could this be a scam? Is he going to eventually ask me for something?

My question is how in the world do you really know? Is there anyone currently dating internationally I can connect with? It would just be nice to have someone who can relate to my situation and also some insight on what to look for if one thought they were being scammed. All I’ve seen is they ask for money, they won’t talk to you on the phone or video chat and they use fake identies BUT that’s literally not the case as he doesn’t ask for money and we talk on the phone as video chat frequently. THE only odd thing he did was tell me he loved me VERY fast because he “wanted to make his intentions known” (that’s when I began my googling and found this site).

HELP A SISTA OUT!!!

And a white lady from Texas is disturbing me online to be friends!!. I had to tell her I am from Nigeria to see whether she'll profile me as potential scammer but she won't stop.

My only worry is that you could damage the whole relationship just by what you'll read here. The guy could be none of that, but even if he is, all you have to do is don't send him money if he asks. But then you can't tell me you two would be true friends without helping each other in some ways at some point.

You could send him link to this thread and let him know you read what people are saying about dating Nigerians or maybe if you have other ways of putting it.

Good luck.

WARNING: You could expose yourself to real scam right here on this forum. If a good scammer get you here he'll still scam you. The only time you'll realise you've been scammed would be after its done.

my dear you will not understand. You can work really hard here and at the end you can't really feed.
Go and research a story of a Nigerian man that was repatriated from Libya he said Libyan at war is far better than Nigerian at peace.
We are suffering here unless you are from the ruling class.you don't need to blame him.

Op Not all Nigerian men are bad in fact majority of us are honest, hard working guys. So don't judge the young man base on his country rather judge him base on is character and personality. Just use your head when dealing with the matter of the heart.

If I tell him I posted this...he will likely loose his mind and be super upset because it’s a sign of me not trusting him completely and that’s what he wants is for me to let my guard down and trust him. Buuuut it’s hard.

I’ll definitely be careful with who I interact with on here though. It’s nice to see others thoughts but I posted this knowing the internet is a dangerous place to seek advice lol
