My own advice is give him a chance.forget all the negative reports on Nigerians. Even Christ was born in small town called Narazeth. And there is saying that can any good thing come out of Nazareth come and see. Forget the programming. And read a book by Anthony de mello "a call to love".thank me later |

let me add this maybe the OP would see it. I dated a white girl online some years back ,though I wasn't after her money even as I was still job hunting then. but I just see it as fun at first...... damn , I tell you white girls love with all their heart, she deos most of the phone calls then . she find it add to trust me at first but later she discovered that I don't care about her money and she talk to almost every member of my family anytime she calls. but we later just went on as just friend due to religious differences. Not every Nigerian is an online scammer note the following each time you both having conversation... 1) what he desire most 2) his ambition , yes his he a career person or religious goer . 2) always ask him in a loving tone to give you his movement details throughout the day ....I bet you he will gladly tell you if hes in love 3) chat him or call him in the afternoon to know what he was doing , calling is preferable to pick some background noise and activities. this will enable you to know his activities routinely , if he's the ambitious type within 2 weeks you will know. Ambitious or religious guys don't really have time much for scamm. he might be the good guy. 2 Likes |

Dont mind trolls here, they wish they were the guy just try them and replace him with them and see how they will send thousands of message to you promising you everything on earth. anyway in Nigeria, for those living for society instead of themselves, the differences in age between a lady and a man can be a hindrance for marriage if that is your goal, except he is an open-minded guy, and dont care about what society says, the reality is this, if he is 23 years, he is young, energetic, in university, still depending on his parent for school fees and other stuff, surely still leaving with his parent, that is just my portrait of him. most of the guys in Nigeria within that age arent ready for marriage but maybe relationship, in my opinion his age might be someone who might be the "i wanna go to america and hustle freak". most them in that age bracket in Nigeria, have nothing to lose. but if he is open-minded, matured in thinking, hardworking, thinks well and thinks for 2 of you (we), then maybe he might be a potential guy but when you start hearing, how he is broke and needs your money to free him from his financial bondage and wants to come to america because Nigeria is hard. cut contact. do not invest emotions yet, but for you to come here and ask, it seems you like the guy. but nevertheless watch and see, age is not a barrier for a open minded and matured young guy and someone that genuinely loves you. as i can say time will tell. 1 Like |

uuzba: This is very interesting. Though lowest paid citizens get benefits do you know how much is taken out of their check for those benefits?? Which is why a lot of lower payed citizens opt to not have insurance. And though there is a law now that tries to ensure everyone has insurance ...if one opts to not to they are fined at the end of the year. Though there are assistance programs...being poor doesn’t necessarily mean you qualify for them. Look up provety rates here. It is not all rainbows and unicorns as people may think. And even most assistance programs set you up for failure and that’s why most use a term here called “cycle of proverty.” The healthcare here isn’t great if you don’t have insurance. People with no insurance DO NOT get free ambulance rides or free treatment. They receive the treatment but are left with INSANE medical bills which in returns ruins your credit score and everything one obtains here is based off of a credit. And people here with no insurance are treated unfairly as well. AND when someone marries an American citizen the Americans income must be able to sustain them until the other person finds employment so they won’t utilize government programs. Anyway. I could go on and on. I just don’t want people to be fooled. The “American Dream” is a lie. Now I will say...it’s much easier to find success if you work hard as success is not limited to a certain group or family or connections and the average person can “make it” in America with or without a degree as a lot of good paying jobs can be obtained by earning “trade.” Lol anyway...just wanted to put that out there. BUT I’m one American out of many and my viewpoint definitely doesn’t represent America as a whole. I personally wish to live in Canada 1 Like 1 Share |

If anything you all constantly calling me a scammer makes me empathize with the guy I’m dealing with and see how easy it is for someone to think your fake. |

Fe2018: Fe2018, you are right to be paranoid. We know it too that we don't have a good reputation globally but believe me, many people on here, an average Nigerian has a great heart. Your boyfriend may or may not be a scam. If you're 7 years older like you said, he may not be ready for anything serious yet but may have you in mind for the long term project. For him not to ask you for money or any material thing, he has dignity and integrity. Just take things easy and be watchful. We're not all scammers, it's the few rotten eggs that contaminate the rest. Good luck to you sister. 2 Likes |

Re: American Girl Lost In A Nigerian World by Nobody: 12:14pm On Nov 03, 2018 |
Fe2018: That's why it pays to put in same effort in a foreign country than Nigeria. Guess our government is still playing cheese with minimum wage for civil servants at less than $70 per month. Isn't that laughable to you. Let me tell you the real fact . If we Nigerians could hustle and put same effort we use in working in Nigeria to work in a foreign country, We suddenly become millionaires here. The economy favors only the rich to get more richer and left the average families to wallow in poverty. So, The choice lies with you sister. |
