BRO! I know people who earn as much as 3,000 US Dollars in Nigeria who work remotely for companies outside of the US & they live in Nigeria. Not that I heard from someone, I know them Face to Face.

Chevron doesn't pay the same International Rates, Yes. But they pay considerably very high, that even earning that same Salaries in US would be good enough for you. Imagine earning 800k in Nigeria in Chevron which is more than 2K USD in US. You are still doing very well.

Your knowledge is limited. So just rest abeg.

as i said you are still ignorant.

they work remotely and earn 3000 USD if they were in that country, will they earn that same amount? you think for your self

now imagine a chevron staff in Nigeria earning 2000 USD for the same job a US chevron staff will earn 8000-10,000 USD

so do you expect foreign companies to pay the same amount they pay in their home country in Nigeria, the answer is NO, i dont understand your argument if you agree with my point and we shouldnt forget chevron is a big company that is why they pay 2000 usd, if it was a small company, do you think they will even pay 2000 USD in Nigeria.

Foreign companies all over the world pay foreign staffs according to their country wages, the only exception is when you are transferred to their headquarters or their subsidiaries in another country.

@OP, about the dressing part, I learnt that a long time ago. Always dress smart, be on suit always. If I am going to miss out on a job, it won't be for dressing. Most times, I buy new suits for any job interview I'm scheduled for. You can never get it wrong with a suit.

Not always true.

The day I went for the interview of my current job, though was on corporate BUT I didn't dress smart cos I didn't wear suit, I didn't know anyone in the company, but I was fully prepared and 100% confident to answer all questions thrown at me.

I got the job by the grace of God after 3 rounds of interviews within 2weeks and later discovered that one of the interviewer was the guy that resigned from the post I applied for, moreso the HR was also wowed at the way I answered the whole questions.

Finally, your CV also matters. I got mine perfectly drafted by "@benjom the writer at exceptional CV" and it was what got me an audience to be interviewed as they had already interviewed 5 applicants.

So after you have prepare yourself, it's the grace of God that finalize things. cool

U don't have to be experienced before u are skilled as a programmer

If u leave school with skills in programming languages, u are skilled but not experienced.

Shut up and stop arguing blindly.

That is the trade I av done for more than a decade.

I have managed and recruited a lot of programmers during that period.

Before you argue with me where I earn 7digits net monthly once again, shut d fck up.

you are the one that need to shut the Bleep up...

skilled programmers are experienced, they have worked on projects before and understand what a project needs, unskilled programmers are in inexperienced, programming is a practical job not theory. so get the Bleep out of here, you dont know what you are saying.

since you have managed programmers before, what methodology do you use in managing your imaginary programmers?

what software do you use to manage your workflow and how do you manage your Sprint planning

different companies have different cultures, just because you dress casually in one company does not mean another company will accept it.

true. Americans exploit cheap labour forces in china but skilled/educated labour is a different. They earn better. Mayb not as much as d u.s equivalent but better. Also, the chinese economy is a tampered one. The govt manipulates the market forces to meet its economic objectives rather than let market forces operate freely.
Chinese are no push-overs! . Theyre sense of national pride is at an all time high. China is the next biggest economy . It will eclipse the u.s.

If Chinese are no push over and America still find a way of exploiting that loop to their advantage. What then do you think of a third world country like ours with weak government and no cheap to bargain.

Aside you the only one who think you skilled and educated. Your certificate may be only good for the shredders. They will still have to train you to meet up standard for that pay you so desire.

Whenever you are attending a formal meeting, always wear suit. It builds up confidence and makes you look professional

there is nothing here to learn..different countries have different wages, international companies will pay you according to your country paying structure, no international company will pay you western payment structure in Nigeria, if they do they will go bankrupt, infact how much are they making in nigeria for them to pay you the same wages structure as your counterpart in their headquarters

i will like to ask you, why did US companies move manufacturing to china? the simple answer is because of cheap labour( cheap salary)

why do companies In the US outsource to India, Vietnam and china? simple answer cheap salaries.

i will free you because you dont know a clue of what you claim you are.. programming is a practical job and needs practical experience for you to be skilled. infact most programmers in nigeria are self-taught, some dont even have degree in computer science but through learning and practise, they became very skilled in their trade.

Minimum wage is for someone on level 1 step 1, someone with a primary school certificate will probably start on level 2, bsc holder is level 8, the foreign company is very very mad for saying they will pay you the least ranking of the minimum wage, for your level to be paid 30k minimum wage, you will be earning in hundred of thousand, why do you think state government are shying away from it, 30k for level 1 ain't the problem, the problem for them is that the money will be much for medium and higher level

As a graduate you are level 8, ond level 6

Stupid employers quoting laws out of orders
I think the op misunderstood them.
If you're to be paid with minimum wage of 30k as a graduate, your pay should be up to 200k. And he's even experienced.

Think outside the box bro. Today is only 8th of the month and I have already made more than 75k. So, by the end of the month, I'm already looking at more than 300k. And I just finished NYSC in 2017.

The problem is that most graduates are too fixated on being employees or job seekers. None wants to think outside the box.

As for fresh graduates earning 150k, I tell you it is possible. Some of my friends in the corporate world started earning around that in their first jobs.
What business do you do?
