That Afrinvest own then was the scam of the century. Investors were manipulated.

If you are referrring to MTN Teleop, please understand what happened before you unfairly castigate an innocent company that stuck its neck out retail investors to benefit from a very good investment which was only open to high net worth individuals (HNWI).

MTN was gearing up to list in NSE way back in 2007, and did private placement with HNWI and instituitional investors which was priced out of the reach of common man. Afrinvest secured a portion of the MTN shares and set up MTN Teleop Funds directly linked to MTN shares, duly registered and approved by SEC. Each of the MTN Teleop Funds was priced in dollars which converted to about N1m per unit. This enabled people to buy 1, 2, 3..... etc units of MTN Teleop Fund. The hope was that after MTN listing on NSE, the underlying shares will be crossed to CSCS accounts of subscribers to the Fund after listing.

Unfortunately, MTN kept reneging on thier several promises to list. This is the reason why people did not sympathise with them when they were hit by the hefty fine bu NCC.

Meanwhile, whilst MTN was foot dragging on listing, they were declaring healthy dividend every quarter, which was also paid to the MTN Fund holders as well. I benefited from this immensely, even though the underlying shares could not be traded. Finally, since it was apparent that MTN will not going to list, and I believe the Fund tenure was probably temporary, Afrinvest notified subscribers of the Fund of thier intention to liquidate the Fund, and paid the underlying value to all subscribers. So there was no scam or wrong-doing on the part of Afrinvest.

Afrinvest is trying to do same same thing with the current Airtel listing.

There is something you are hiding and its like you are a stakeholder of Afrinvest. Why did Afrinvest terminate the fund prior to listing and gave excuses of devaluation then when it was already bought in dollars and those that bought with StanbicIBTC own was not terminated and they were able to trade it when MTN finally listed on NSE and also enjoyed their annual dividends from that 2007 till date. What is the challenges that Afrinvest MTN investors faced that StanbicIBTC MTN investors did not faced which made Afrinvest to terminate the deal abruptly.
Hope you also know that what Afrinvest is trying to also do with this Airtel is to pool funds together and buy it from London stock exchange in foreign currency and i hope similar fate wont befall those that buy into it and give excuses of devaluation again when the time comes.

Can you imagine? Some people are meeting to consider audited result, while others are planning to file notification for delay in filing unaudited result. Thats why I love GTB, Zenith, Access, Uba etc
Some companies vault was damaged, rain penetrated into it, this made all their books and records to become wet, they spread them under the sun but goat feasted on them. Reason for the delay. Case study of maizeoil

Don't mind them, let CHAMS be giving them headache.
They don't own the stock yet they are crying everyday more than the bereaved!

Meanwhile their messiah stocks are also going into red on a daily basis. When its time for market to move CHAMS would easily give me 50-100 % return before they even see 10%

Meanwhile still waiting for DF deal price to cash out well grin

Drama full this NSE. One minute people were buying some stocks and prices moving up, the next minute some were panic-selling and sending the prices down. It is well. smiley
