Many schools don't require Ielts from Nigerians because English is out first language. Google will help you more.

the conference is all about the seeking of refugee by africans and i dont have traveling history

Qudkom:

Simply put your chances depend on your home ties, employment viability and most importantly if the conference is of a reasonable expense to a VO. Also your previous travel history matters a lot. So I'll advice that you carefully highlight this factors in your application. All the best.

That amount is the passport processing fee you are required to pay. However it is meant for those who did not do their biometrics with VFS.

I got to find this out when I went to submit my passport.
The VFS people were shocked my application was July 2018. I did not take the slip to show I did biometrics there... cos I did not even remember where I kept it. They insisted I have to pay the fee, but I insisted I need to see the manager, and then I explained to the manager, though initially he was forming busy and not wanting to help, I kept insisting I did my biometrics there and to find a way to check.
While we were going back and forth on the matter, I no gree oooo cheesy cheesy cheesy
He said something about if i got a notification from them to check it. Then I remembered I got, and had to check my email... and thankfully I saw the email from VFS. I wrote out the number and gave to him, and that was how I ended up not paying the fee for passport processing.

For those yet to get PPR, when submitting passport after your PPR request, please do not forget to take the biometrics slips given when you do biometrics.

Shadypoza01:
No idea but i think its for applicants who did biometrics from either July or November 2018 (not yet certain abt it tho)

It will show approved when your passport has been stamped.
My advise, be patient, and as long as your details submitted especially bank information is correct, it will come.
Focus on your work and put more positive energy on the passport coming back as soon as possible.

Now the issue of 3-5 business days may also be iffy.
I do not know where you submitted your passport, but the VFS in Lagos says 10 to 15 business days.

Thanks for your anticipated assistance @mcobex
In the meantime, I'm considering of securing another admission (graduate diploma) perhaps my previous visa rejection was prompted by lack of educational progression.
Please, what's your view?

I will be less busy in the middle of July(2nd week), we can put heads together then to see how to get a better application this time

Meaning of Vague
not clearly expressed; stated in indefinite terms.
not having a precise meaning.
not clearly defined, grasped, or understood; indistinct; slight.
not clearly felt or sensed; somewhat subconscious.
not thinking or expressing one’s thoughts clearly or precisely.
lacking expression; vacant.
not sharply outlined; haz

If the VO write this word (VAGUE) on your GCMS note, know that your STATEMENT OF PURPOSE/LETTER OF EXPLANATION was very poor. Try to work on it in your re-application.

But what of people that submitted applications without sop and got approved?

Hello guys, please i need help. I don almost cry all my eyes out and I have prayed and I'm getting tired.

I applied in Feb18.
Biometric request was Feb 20. I did it on Feb 21.
I got a medical request on May 10. I passed it June 2 according to my cic account.

I got passport request June 13, I submitted June14.
On June 14 after submitting passport, I got a mail from Vfs saying;

Dear Applicant,

We would like to inform you that your application has been processed in our office on 14 Jun 2019
You can track the status of your application through our website mentioned below using your tracking number.

Anytime I track it, it says;

Visa application, Id ###### is being processed at our canada Visa office.

I was told it only takes 3 -5 days. My people, since June14 till now, nothing yet, this has affected my performance at work.

Please help, what do I do, what is wrong? Did I even get the right mail from Vfs? Is tgat the mail you get after submitting passport for stamping?
If I may suggest, I will say you should visit the VFS office in Lagos and there was a guy who on this forum said he went to one office in VI (I think it's the Canadian high commission office).
According to him, he had already boom his flight and time was almost going. But when he went there, his passport was sent and he picked it up same day or next day or so at the VFS in Lekki.
Hope this helps

Good morning guys,

Yesterday, I did my medicals and everything seems great but my pulse rate, which was quite elevated (113BPM). I asked the doctor who attended to me if the information he was filling in were okay (at that point, he was recording that of BP which was 129/75), and he said, "that's fine". I thought I might be referred for ECG after sighting the abnormal pulse rate, but I wasn't. And does stethoscope tells how large/big one's heart is? 'cause I was wondering why the doctor had to move that instrument to the edges of chest down to my ribs region. Do I need to be perturbed with this result?

Lastly, for those who did their medicals at IOM, Ikeja, how long did it take IOM to notify you that your medical result has been forwarded to CIC, and how long did it take you to get a "passed" notification on your portal regarding medicals.

Thanks.

No. Did you receive same?
I think I am in a similar situation. I have followed this thread for some time and you all are doing an amazing job.
I applied for a Study permit for my daughter (undergraduate studies Dalhousie) and a TRV for myself to accompany her. This is our timeline
Application submitted paper route : 25th April
Biometrics : 25th April
BVL for mother: 31st May
Medical request for my daughter : 1 June
Medical passed: 6th June
Mother's passport collected approved (5 years): 13th June
CIC updated approval in account : 15th June
BVL for daughter 20th June

Since then, we have heard nothing from CIC. I sent a webform to them on the 28th of June but I haven't received any reply. I don't know what next to do. Suggestions will be welcome.

Hello please I applied for sowp alongside with my husband's study visa application via paper route but we have only been able to link his application online, tried linking mine but can't see anything. Please is this normal? Or is it because I am the secondary applicant?

I have now received an update on my CIC account that my application has been approved alongside a passport request letter. I am hoping this means that there won't be any secondary background checks because I am planning to travel and will require my passport.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the way especially justmellow and tvickie.

Application timeline

Submitted a paper application on the 23rd of April
Eligibility and background began a week after. I didn't know how to use the CIC website at that time so I don't know the exact dates.

Application approved and passport request on 3rd of July.
