The girl is just being truthful. She grew up poor and she wants to have a better life. Can't be drinking garri at home and still continue in her husband's house. We are praying for progress not stagnation. sad

The girl is being truthful.. Don't get married till you are ready. Maybe she is also referring to the level of her financial status and not the guy's own alone

It means the lady has suffered before. It was either she felt neglected or uncared for, or both.
The guy should start looking for another lady.

Women go and hustle for your own money instead of waiting on guys to cater for you.

My rule of thumb is that I can never spend money on you as a girlfriend if I know your parent wont do same..

Why can't she work hard and get rich herself or are women exempted from being rich?

The guy has made another post on what led to that statement, you may want to read it.

According to the update, the girl got a job offer at Port Harcourt and asked the guy to go for it because she's not chanced to, the guy turned it down and started talking about marriage.

Naso that Statement drop.

I can't blame the girl though.

She wants to make money before getting married or marry a rich man. She's just securing her future

"I'm Not Ready To Suffer A Second Time" What Does it Mean When A Lady Says This?

My friend has been down since yesterday.

He was talking over the phone with his girlfriend friend, in the course of the discussion, he chipped in marriage to the girl.

The girl stylishly told him "she was not ready to suffer a second time".

They both laughed over it then.

Both the guy and babe are from poor backgrounds but the guy is gradually hitting it steadily recently (though he has kept this from the girl)

I don't even know put this to the guy as he seams hurt by the statement.

Me: "It's nothing, just a way to "ginger" you to hustle or you want make she come your house come suffer"?

Guy is seeing things from a different angle.
Let him call the girl so she can explain that word to him properly....
He knows the girl more than us, if she's good for him, let him hustle well and put a ring on her finger instead of masturbating over a post about poverty....
If she's the kinda gurl that will drain him up, he must have been aware of her attitude during the cause of their relationship....

This is wat all ladies wants, but the truth of the matter is at every given point in time a lady that struggles from scratch with the husband is more respected than the one that can in wen it was all Rosey with the same man.

Her parents are/were poor, she wants to marry a richer man.

Now the question is apart from looking for a richer mate, what is she doing to climb out of poverty?

Apart from money, what else is she looking for in a man?

Does she love her current boyfriend and wishes he makes more money (hence the non-readiness of marriage) or is she using him to cure her kongi till the rich man comes along?

You sorry your friend needs to find the true answers to these questions before he opens up on his finances to the girl.

He doesn't need a fair weather wife on the journey of marriage.

they do the bolded above too?

See, I always tell my younger ones this, IF YOUR PARENTS ARE NOT RICH, FORGET ABOUT A RICH GUY, or better still, just remove your mind. (Maybe) due to the economy, guys are now far more demanding than before (and even more than the girls now). In like 10 years ago, you can marry a rich guy if you were beautiful, but now, the only thing that can qualify you is your parents address (if they own a house in Ikoyi). Even if you had sickle cell or an albino, even if you were AS, you'll still find a rich AS lying to be AA just to marry you. Rich guys now want to consolidate wealth, they want to give you a marketing target to go and milk your parents for them to set up more business as soon as they are married to you, not for children cuz (truly) they never needed any since they can just do 2-3 baby mamas and remain single till 55. take it or leave it, but never forget it!

To be honest, I don't blame her.

If I was a lady, I wouldn't marry less not because I am money focused but because I love my unborn kids...

That's why I must have minimum of 10m per annum before I think of marriage.

As A guy, I love intelligent and smart women because I don't want dumb kids..

Its about the kids.. Not the money

Being out of convenience for her, she sent the opening to him and urged him to apply.

Girl: lol, thanks, not ready for marriage Sha...

Guy: What if I'm ready?..

Girl: even you know say you never ready come 2021

Guy: what if I tell you that it's today we are gonna marry?

Girl: Lol. I'm not ready to suffer a second time beko...

That's how the conversation went, I rephrased most of the sentences as I can't remember all exact words.

I think you should put this in the main post.

Like "what led to the statement".

Reading this will actually help you get a more accurate answer.
Re: When A Lady Says "I'm Not Ready To Suffer A Second Time" by Martinez39(m): 2:54pm On Dec 17, 2019
Boys are their own undoing. Boys will see signs or even be outrightly told by a lady that she is not interested or she wants a higher bidder yet boys will keep forcing the issue, become desperate, and get upset when things do not work out.

"I am not ready to suffer again" means she came from a poor background and she is not going to marry a poor man. This is simple. Tell your friend to forget women and go and improve his life.

Who is responsible for her poverty? Is relationship poverty alleviation? It is up to her to work hard and not expect that marriage will take her away from poverty.

She probably is working hard and does not want to settle down with some broke loser who has nothing going for him. Nigerians love rushing into marriage and making children they cannot afford to adequately take care of and that's disgusting. Tomorrow, these poor kids grow up to become a nuisance to Nigerian society and the world at large. Why do you think Nigerians have such a bad reputation worldwide?

This is the problem with the modern woman. They have all the opportunities and rights to work and amass wealth yet many are looking for a man to bail their broke selves. These very same women will later look you in the eyes and scream "equality", "I am strong and independent". grin

Is a simple sturvs.

The girl is motivating the guy and even assisting him with opportunities as she feels he needs to upgrade before she can come in.

TBH that's my kind of girl. The guy is hitting it, then why is the girl not feeling it abi na AUDIO MONEY?
