Raalsalghul:

Okay, so let's say a science graduate who has interest in Logistics should go for a PGC in Logistics/Supply Chain Management as the first step in switching fields?

How does that work exactly?

Would the school grant him admission considering his/her first degree and wouldn't that serve as a red flag to the V.O?

Your response will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello Raalsalghul,

In terms of a career switch in a total different field, a PGD/PGC or a second degree is recommended. In this situation, work experience would count as a plus in both the admission and visa application process.

But if there switch is within same field and have some related courses, a Masters can as well be considered.

If after an admission is secured which shouldn't be a poblem especially applying to colleges, the onus to be able to convince the VO thereafter is on you. It is not impossible but could be painstaking. There are previous successful applicant who have been able to do this. This major thing is to be able to convince the VO on a given reason for the switch and prove that such move entails a career advancement or enhance your self-development.

All the best.

Thanks alot @ JustMellow

JustMellow:

Hello MOBAN444,

Do well to access it via a PC. You can use a Google Chrome, Internet Explore, or Mozilla Fire Fox brower to surf IRCC site for the IMM form page. If there, click on the specific file to open, download, and save the file. Also, endeavour to have an updated Adobe fille viewer either the Adobe Reader 11, Adobe Acrobat Reader or other higher version.

Then leave the browser area, open the Adobe Reader and search for the downloaded IMM form and open.

Mention me if you still find difficulty with it.

All the best

Hello Chriswazo,

It is really a pleasure having this moment with you. Your contributions and posts on the German Visa Section are very insightful. Keep the good work going.

To your questions proper, almost all Nigerian instititions runs on a 5.0 scale only very few runs on 4.0. What ever information on their website is based on the Canadian institution scale which is also equivalent to most countries scale like Nigeria (may with little difference). However, a 3.0 GPA in your last 2yrs in school (undergraduate) is enough to get you in, in additional to other requirements.

Since you are currently undergoing your Masters, your best move would be to go for a Ph.D in Canada or a professional certificate program. As you know already, getting an admission in whatever course or program might not pose as much obstacle than trying to convince the VO on such study move of either going for a second Masters or Graduate certificate instead of Ph.D (if this is your intention).

N.B: MUN is a good school and highly recommendable.

If you have any further question, mention me here or PM.

Stay blessed.

Wow, thank you for your kind words. I marveled at your intro. cheesy

Thank you too for your good works here, recently I read a lot of your answers to questions asked. Thank you for answering mine.

It will be my pleasure to connect with you.

Please house I have an important question please I was denied a US visa and Canada is my second option but I have a some year gap in my studies ....Please when filing for my Canada visa my questions are
1) do they just know I have been denied a US visa or I have to mention it

2) do I state what I have been doing in my year gap or they can see it since US and Canada share the same data base

3) the data base shared between US and Canada what does it show about me
Thanks please house help so I don’t make mistakes in my new application
I want to acquire my bachelor degree

Hello Adetayoade1,

To the best of my knowledge, embassies treats every submitted application as new whether been refused before or not. Even though they already have your records stored in their database or that of their data-sharing partners (countries), they want to test your honesty at this point. Perhaps, many fall victims here.

In order of your questions:

1. Do well to declare it. Don't fail.

2. Please, give a detailed information with evidence

3. It is done to check if you have any criminal records, if inadmissible to enter Canada, overstayed visa, forceful removal from a country, violation of laws, violation of a visa regulation, declaration of forceful information, general background checks etc

All the best.

Hello Mcilfero,

Almost all universities in Canada are competitive. Apart from a good CGPA, there are other requirements to be satisfied. If the GPA of your last two years in school is good, it will be a plus. In my own observation and experience, only a good GPA can't guarantee a possible admission. For further hint, move back on a pages, similar topic was discussed or go through my previous post by clicking on my signature. I have few posts on the topic.

University of Calgary is a good school and its expected to be competitive. Hence, it advisable to apply to more schools for improved chances of admission.

All the best.

Thank you Sir! Some schools asked for two samples of written work in my application for a research based program. Does that mean a journal? Please I need clarifications.

Greetings!

I currently got an MBA offer from a Canadian university in Vancouver to commence in April 2020.I have a National Diploma in Library & Info science and a Degree in History &International studies. I got a few waiver choices which has propelled the need to move further.I have also applied for scholarship of upto about 10,000CAD which is still pending review.

I have over 11 years experience which cuts across business development, project management, interior design and HR. I have been refused tourist visa to the US a few times in 2013,2015,2017& 2018 (but I have been to the UK,Dubai and Singapore within these period) Will this in any way impact my application?

Also I intend to use my parent as my additional sponsor for proof of funds to add up to my savings. Will this fly?

I will appreciate your response. Thank you.
Pls hw did u go about the scholarship

Greetings!

Thank you for your response @Justmellow. Much appreciated.

Sorry, i have a few more questions;

1. Please i have read that applicants get the medicals done before submitting the online application.. where and how do i go about this ?

2. Can anyone please share a template of study leave approval from employer to show strong ties and additional evidence to return to home country? Thank you in advance. ( I have a reference letter from a social group that i am actively involved in and i also intend to attach a reference letter from my business partner);

3. For purpose of clarity what does LOE mean? is it the same as SOP?

4. Please kindly share all the required documents to enable a tight application;

Many thanks for your response. Look forward to your kind feedback.

Best,

Good afternoon,

If you are referring to qlife family clinic, I confirmed the above statement.

I have successfully booked a medical test for Jan 30 hopping to receive a medical request from IRCC before then. To my surprise, after calling their officials for cancellation, they said that the money is nonrefundable.

See me see trouble! I beg nairalanders to come to our aid. Is it possible and even ideal for IRCC to be dealing with this type of people. They want to hold my money for services not rendered.

Please if anybody has experienced this kindly share with us.

Good bless you all.

With your experience you should be looking at an advanced diploma program in accounting. As for your husband and kids you'll have to exclude them from your application so they can serve as your home ties. You can always apply for them to come and join you but that will cost you a lot of money in terms of proof of funds for a family of 4. If you had an msc degree I would have suggested express entry to begin with.

I'll also advice that you look into provinces with decent living expenses and good immigration pathways like Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the likes.
