So, Mr Commissioner, you are assuring us you have tracked down all the individuals that the Italian, first index case, came in contact with, then the individuals that these potential second index cases came in contact, as well as the individuals that these individuals also came in contact with, and so on and so forth. Government officials dey lie. We are talking about tracking thousands of people because it's like a chain reaction.... let him tell us how many people the government tracked. Using the Uber driver the Italian came in contact with as example, that day alone the driver would have been in contact with 5 to 10 more passengers depending on time of the day he picked the guy. Now, these passengers would have been in contact with other individuals as secondary contacts, and on and on. That's just one person. Government magic!

You uttered this rubbish even after reading that the man was tested and the result was negative or you mean he infected his passengers with his negative results?

Some of you just love to hear yourself talk, but end up sounding ignorant

You either didn't read the article or did but just did not comprehend what you read.

Abeg stop embarrassing yourself.

This better be real as we don't want any audio news. On a serious note, the points of entry into this country should be manned enough to avoid stories that touch.

As usual,African with their firebrigade approach to issues marred with claim and counter claim of fake discoveries and breakthrough. This premature announcement is quit unfortunate, as the novel virus (CAVID-19) is still at its entrant stage into the country and it is thoughtless for any one to start celebrating any effort put forward to curb it.Since its is still at inception stage.Lagos department concerns should withdraw and debunk this news wholly.

If this is the case travel bans from corona infested countries need to be enforced, this would help control on a global perspective

it is not that we have super intelligence than the western world the truth is the west is being consumed by 2 factors especially in disease control

1. Citizens who are tone deaf and do not follow instructions. everyone wants to prove he or she is smart. imagine some people in America still complaining they want to go on a cruise at this critical time. no naija will think of that at this time

2. people in the western world lack proper hygiene. in naija, with all our water supply issues, people love to wash their hands before eating even if it’s rice, with spoon if you want to verify this go to any Mr Biggs or even road side mamma put you will see people washing their hands before they eat, in western world i have seen men leave toilets and just walk away when there is an abundant supply of water

Lagos state Isolated the Italian gentleman, tested and obtained results in less than 4 hours, while in the US, the so called most powerful country in the world is still struggling to formulate a decent and coherent strategy, they can not adequately test and they don't even have enough test kits to ramp up testing.

Kudos to Lagos state and Nigeria, the Italian gentleman is lucky to sadly fall sick in Nigeria and not in his own country/Italy where over 1000 people perished already and thousands infected.

The Italian gentleman is now virus free and is able to return to his family, but I think he should stay in Nigeria for now.

When Lai Mohammed said we are ready and prepared to deal with this horrible virus, the hateful and bitter anti Nigeria crazies went berserk, they abused and insulted the man, they call him a lair, but luckily for the negative and hateful people, we showed the world once again our preparedness and capabilities.

Luckily for the loudmouths, our preparedness saved them from the horrible virus.

God Bless Nigeria.

We did well on this occasion. I strongly believe our experience in handling Ebola and Lassa has prepared us well ahead of this pandemic called COVID-19. Imagine a Nigeria without those experiences, it would have been disastrous.

Nigeria would have been a great country but unfortunately we weren't lucky with good leadership and ethic divide aren't helping either.

You are a fool if you think COVID-19 has been contained in Nigeria. If you don't test everyone then you can foolishly pat yourself on the back saying you did a good job while the disease continues to spread.

The Coronavirus could be described as a humbling disease since it has so far brought the rich and the highly influencial to their knees. Even Donald Trump is forced to swallow his word and pride.

The poor and weak nations are only being spared maybe for now because of the grace of God. For Nigeria, it's not just about being clever alone, grace is also involved.

Good thing is that it started from a super power nation before moving to other places; so the world has learned from the experience of others.

Poor and weak nations also do not have the infrastructure to detect as many people with the disease as others. Before you start calling grace of God reason the thing first.

Nigeria media has done well to protect the identity of the Italian and the other contacts , something the English media cannot do. Now the whole world knows that Arsenal manager has Convid 19. Shior.

Even Premium Times with it's investigative journalism cannot break the impregnable circle.

I'm not saying there is no Italian, I just want to plead with them to ensure that adequate measures be put in place to prevent real and verifiable Convid 19 carrier(s) from getting to Nigeria.
Imagine Corona in the street of the overcrowded Lagos city, e don be for Nigeria be that.

We should be thankful and grateful that the virus did not spread in Nigeria and Africa as a whole rather boasting. I do not believe this is because we were better prepared at all. If it was are prepared, how many people have been identified and stopped at the airport since then or are you saying only that 1 person has entered Nigeria with the virus?

There has also been some suggestion the climate in Africa reduced the spread, i do not know if this is scientifically proven what i will say is the corona virus is

@bolded, it has been SCIENTIFICALLY proven. Wuhan does not survive long in warm humid weather. It has not succeeded in any such country, not just Africa

Your second point is a big lie. Have you not seen the dirty and flooded environment some people live in? Market women will be selling food on top of gutters, bus conductor will sneeze and hand change to someone while holding the rest of the money in his mouth. Even in the public toilets, which are rarely clean, people use their bare hand to wipe their anus with water there will often be no soap available. Even worse I've seen women rub their toto with just water and their bare hand in public and in their mind that is hygienic.
