My advice to single ladies is to try and develop yourself, build your own worth, be a lady of value, don't just have your hot body alone to offer, though you can still be lucky to get a rich guy that is only looking for a hot body to marry, he may not need any other quality from a lady except sexy body, but the chances today is very slim with social media and Internet exposure that have laid bare the once secret things of life.

When I was single, initially things were not that smooth with me, I struggled for like 2 - 3 years after NYSC. I knew my wife back then as a friend, but what made me cherish her was that despite me struggling financially back then, she allowed me to kiss her like twice and as a broke guy I was then, I didn't want to be committed to any lady cos I know in my heart that I cannot be reliable as a broke guy who doesn't even know his future

I liked her but I intentionally kept her as a friend, she was the one that do most of the calling and messaging then, while I dodged because I didn't want to disappoint her knowing I was broke and unreliable, but deep down my heart she was my desired lady I wished to be with but fear of my own future kept me playing not too interested


Back to my advice to single ladies....

Develop yourself, don't wait for any man. Even the abroad guys, of course 98% of my friends are, they look out for something in a Nigerian based lady before they would agree to marry her; most want a nurse (Bsc or at worst nursing school), especially the ones living in US, UK, Canada. European based guys mostly want a Naija chick with EU citizenship, or a very hot looking, local breed chick to remain in Nigeria and bear kids for them in Naija while they hustle in Europe alone.

Asian based guys just want show off chick, no direction lol.

Learned Nigerian guys based abroad who are educated professionals want a cool headed professional lady doing well for herself too.


Only the uneducated guys who made money through trading and other human activities marry anyhow today, they just marry any lady that tickles their fancy,no standard.

So as a single lady, if you want an educated man doing well financially as a husband, you must build yourself up to a standard, God's grace can surpass standard sometimes when God wants to work for you anyway.

When I wanted to settle down, I was a bit confused cos I had plenty chicks to pick from, don't be fooled every financially successful guy have long list of ladies to select a wife from, so I looked at some qualities I wanted and my wife and 2 other ladies topped my list.


They were all professional ladies doing well in their fields, aside being cool headed and coming from responsible, well to do families.


So ladies develop yourself please. Rich guys are not looking for rich ladies but they want a lady of substance, a well trained lady from rich family background or one from a good family background also forging well in her chosen career or business or trade.

I.e your theory only applies if the man was never on your level in the 1st place and you could only catch him because he was broke and facing hard times then yes when he overcomes that he likely will leave you but if you are on the same level or you are a higher level than him, he wont leave.

Let me tell you, my cousin brought me here. That guy is a top earning medical doctor in US as we speak, and he still here coded cos he hardly comments sha unlike me his trainee

He has been here since his days in medical school, when nairaland started according to him, he owns more than 3 houses in top Nigerian cities, of course owning a house is a small feat today anyway
