it's a misery, women r just too complex to understand.i dated my ex for 3 years and fell so much in love with her because she was so understanding and nice.i messed things up by becoming too nice to her.Each time we had a disagreement she would always play d victim even when it was obvious she was clearly at fault, sometimes she would boastfully say she doesn't know how to say sorry to a guy.

it started degenerating that most times she did something wrong and I yelled at her,she would block my lines for days that I had to resort to asking my friends and siblings to beg her on my behalf because I felt I was a nice guy.it got into her head and she started misbehaving badly and on some few occasions I broke up with her but I couldn't even stay for two hours without hearing her voice, so each time I felt she was using me and broke up she won't even bother to say sorry because she knew I couldn't stay without talking to her.

I stumbled on a post here on nairaland and a particular comment got hold of me,that the only way to earn a woman's respect is to make her feel worthless and undervalued.the following week she did something outrageous and didn't even bother to apologise she was waiting for me to do the needful by calling her,yeah I did call her but to inform her I wasn't interested in the relationship anymore, she laughed and said ok thank you.

that day I was restless and couldn't eat, the urge to call her was very high but I resisted it and held on for 7days, on the 7th she called and was like so u are this heartless,I posted that I was sick on my WhatsApp status and u didn't even bother to check on me ,I just laughed and she angrily ended d call thinking I was going to call her back but I didn't.

two days later she called again and was like are u like this now, I was just laughing and ever since she has been calling over and over again.the day I mistakenly called her number and quickly ended d call she called me back over 10 times pleading that she wasn't with her phone when I called.

last night she opened up and pleaded and pleaded that I should forgive her and I told her I wasn't interested anymore,at some point she would angrily end d call and later call back to start pleading, this morning her elder sister and brother called me trying to show concern although they didn't mention her name, Right now she has dropped a lot of messages on WhatsApp .I am really surprised although I am never going back to her again.thanks nairaland.

I think it is common to both gender.

Me personally,I use to find myself in love with bad girls.

If you are not bad as a man and you see a bad girl/trash,you will fall in love with her.

But bad guys/trash will normally love good girls.

It seems to be that those bad girls can do things that you cannot do,

so you need them in your life to compliment what is lacking in you.

Like me I find girls that can shout,are lousy and troublesome more attractive than the good and gentle ones.

But most males who are lousy and troublesome prefers gentle and good natured females.

I believe it is a desire in us to complement what is lacking in us.

It could also be a desire to change the bad natured person into a good natured person.

By getting the trash as your partner,with time,you may change the person into a nice person.

That seems to be the psychological goal in our hearts.

Maybe that is why JESUS CHRIST as gentle,righteous and holy as HE was,received sinners and ate with them.

HE knew Judas Iscariot was a thief and a dubious man,HE still selected him among HIS disciples.

With time,HE was able to change so many of them.

I don’t think they start out looking for a guy to treat them wrongly.

They start out looking for a guy who is assertive, stands his ground, demands his dues, is confident, does not back down, is not a doormat. This would imply that he has what it takes to later on protect her and the kids. Quite justifiable from a primordial point of view.

The problem is that there are limits to acceptable behavior. If you take it to an extreme, all of the above qualities could be associated with wife and child abusers, sociopaths and psychopaths. If the woman doesn’t have a gauge for “when is this too much of a good thing”, she may end up with quite the jerk.

It doesn’t help if the woman’s Father was a guy who abused or mistreated his wife, her mother. Because whatever our rational intentions, we do tend to become and marry our parents. Find me a woman who is a doormat and I have a pretty good idea of what her Father was like.

Guys have an obligation to get our s**t together when it comes to raising our daughters. Too many women with Father issues out there. Love and attraction are based on both psychology and spark of chemistry. It has been scientifically proven that both pleasure and pain are needed to create a long lasting attraction. Therefore, hot and cold formula to spicy up love life always seems to win.

However, if one consciously chooses their romantic partner who treats them badly only its a strong indicator of one's low self esteem. The person doesnt believe s/he can be loved by their partner, thus will keep choosing people who treat them badly to get a confirmation of their own beliefs.

In many cases such as person may also refuse the other person who doesnt communicate their intentions in the way they are familiar with.

Unfortunately, this is the first step towards creating a toxic relationships. I would highly suggest working on one's self esteem before deciding to get involved with the other person. Hope this answer helps.

-Alpha males can either be benevolent or bullies. They are seen as dominant, so even a “nice alpha male” can be resented for being seen as a tyrant. Most women see the alpha as their ideal - though alphas may not be compatible with them.

-There are also sigma males - they don’t subscribe to alpha or beta tendencies, but are in a class by themselves and don’t care for anyone’s opinion of them. They don’t necessarily treat women poorly. They do their own thing and there is that breed of woman who finds this trait attractive.

-Bad boys and rebels - women find them attractive as well. They think these men have more courage than the other men, and chutzpah is an attractive trait.

Do nice guys finish last? Not necessarily.

Many successful men exist in the workplace today that are very kind and compassionate. The smart women prize these men who bring home the proverbial bacon, or the “largest kill”, yet are generous, loving and in their eyes attractive.

On my opinion....you don't have to be a jerk......the following are those things that make you a nice guy..

1)...if a girl cross your boundary...you will just overlook which means you don't know what you want......never fail to let a girl know when she has offended you no matter how beautiful she may be...

2)..laughing stupidly when you are around her..am not saying you should be Mr.serious but laff when is absolutely necessary or only when it funny to you.....don't be so happy because you have seen her and start smiling like a child....i mean laughed maturedly

3)being afraid to let a girl go....as a man your self respect is more important than her...if she can't respect you....let her go .

4)not having a life......as a man activists in your life should be the most important.....don't always be too available..she called you to come over...don't just agreed as if you are desperate...tell her that you have to check your schedule if there is Time.........don't cancel important events to hang out with a lady..

5)..don't give her money so easily....she ask you for 3000 and you just give to her like that without making her work for it...

MOST IMPORTANTLY.....Don't always try to make her happy....do only thing that you like whether she likes it or not as Long as you are comfortable with it........e.g....a girl may say you like ignoring her but when you start giving her too much attention...boom ! ...she throw you to the nice guy section because she has change you.....ignoring her was the challenge she was facing

But the moment they start acting properly and treat them as much as how they treat you, please follow what we call the MIRROR STRATEGY. As a guy take the lead in doing something but ensure she somehow complement your effort in doing something else also meaning she somehow mirror your good gesture. If not then you can punish the behavior by using the law of attraction. But when a pattern complement your effort or when a partner is being real and truthful to you. NEVER PLAY GAMES THEM.

You know that law of attraction works sometimes. I got trying to talk to this girl but she is doing somehow. I thought after she agrees to date me I will start following this strategy of not giving her much attention so as to get her hook to me but she is even making the toasting hard. Imagine I called this girl, she will pick without talking wasting my fvcking credit. So I gave up on her. Guess who called me on the 3rd day? You guessed right. Exactly my point of view. 70% of a trait a child will show or have tendency to show later in life is been gathered from home. The rest is from the societal influence and peer pressure. Whatever a child sees or hear at the age of 0-10 sticks their brain. It only take the power of God to cleanse that away. This will definitely metamorphosis to what they become in future.
