mekaboy:Lol....Dyson just started building ventilators after coronavirus....and you think boris did not see the design before placing the order? Would you buy something you have not seen before or have tested? Ps in case you don't know Dyson are vacuum cleaner makers who designed and started building their own ventilators to help shortages also adding an additional 5 thousands to the production line as part of their contributions....and lastly log onto instagram and see people from alibaba to the Psquare boys and Mavins crew promoting the young man and tagging all the necessary agencies and promissing to get him the needed meetings.....like I said preparedness meets opportunity.....if you cannot find a place in your heart to support your own please stand by yourself. 6 Likes |

mekaboy:Ps it is not like he is producing the cars in Nigeria, he is only assembling them here, all his parts come from China, so if they had ordered cars from him he would have gone to order from China, the legislators just thought to cut out the middle man....you can't blame them for that. 5 Likes 1 Share |

leokid866:You can't blame them You need Economics 101 to understand that the legislators have "cut out" over 2000 jobs from the economy by that singular decision. It's not only about Innoson, it's about 1000s of Nigerians that will get jobs through that patronage. If you don't know an order for 400 cars so also the ventilators might warrant a new factories, purchases, employments etc that might one way or the order put food on your table, THINK!! 5 Likes |

Do you guys know that you can't go to any type of market whatsoever and purchase a Steam turbine? You will have to place order for it and it will be manufactured for you. All innoson is saying is that the FG should place an order for ventilators and mobilize him to produce them. That is his business model. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

leokid866: Sure. Why dont we cut the middle man completely and have the whites colonize us. After all we order everything from there. That way they can bring their factories here. Even the traditional materials we wear are imported and tailors assemble them here, why dont we just import all the clothes. Why are we wasting time assembling face masks, when the materials are made in china? We can just order from china. The machines we use in processing rice and other foods are made in china, we can as well import rice direct. China buys oil from us and converts to fuel and use for other stuff. Why dont they just other fuel from from us, since the assemble our oil? If 10% of the things we use in Nigeria are assembled here, unemployment would have reduced by 90%. Let me educate you on one advantage of assembling . A container might take only 5 cars, but if the parts are shipped 20 or more cars can be assembled from one container. Saving time and cost of shipping. I guess our hospitals also assemble drugs etc here, no wonder buhari will cut the middle men to go and get healthcare direct from UK. This thing called common sense is not common. 13 Likes 1 Share |

PHIPEX:Ps if you are on about the jobs that will be created by assembling of those cars realise those jobs are temporary, and would render those thousands unemployed after the order is done, if you dont believe me look into Gm, Ford and Chevy and see why they lay thousands off yearly without benefits.....and do you know the technicalities involved in designing a ventilator? Why do you think they are so expensive and take long to make? One misstep and all you have done is waste everybody's time, which is why I'm supporting mechanical design for ventilator builds....they are less expensive and easier to build and operate.....but whatever job the order provides will also be temporary as it is a niche market. 5 Likes |

PHIPEX:Rice is a commodity that is consumed at high volume daily....a crop.......which can be grown easily.....there's no car company in Nigeria that doesn't import one part of the car or the other from abroad, sure they can give it to a Nigerian company to execute but how long will they have to wait to receive their order? Cause whoever handles it will have to import, then assemble, then, test, then paint....do you know how long that would take? It's like ordering for a plate of rice and waiting a year before you can eat....if you studied economics then I'm sure you know of the relationship of Time, money, and value. 3 Likes |

leokid866: China orders raw materials from Australia and other parts of the world to produce what they export to you. Why dont wr just import rice, after all foreign rice is still cheaper than ours? They shut themselves out of the whole world and started producing all the things they export today for their own consumption. They waited for however long it took to produce enough for their own use. You talk about assembly as if people have to use screw drivers and nuts to tight the cars . The assembly is mostly automated. Besides the more hands on deck the faster production is. This means more employment opportunity for Nigerians. Just admit you are not grounded in this area and economics as a whole. The more you try to defend your mistakes the more ignorant you sound. 13 Likes |

leokid866: How long did it take our government to build isolation centres and equip them? We did not provide these things for over 40 years, but we are doing them in weeks. It's all about priority. God forbid that the numbers will increase, but if it does, in the next 3 months, Nigeris might need thousands of ventilators. But sentiments wont let us look beyond ethnicity and do what is right. 13 Likes 1 Share |

mekaboy:Are you kidding me....if you looking at the isolation centers built in the stadiums hope you realise those are temporary and are tents....those are built in special cases....you do know every high level hospital in Nigeria is required to have isolation wards before they begin operation....the ones newly been built are built for special cases like corona so they don't infect others in hospitals during their stay. 3 Likes |

You need to get License by the Department of Petroleum Products (DPR) to start the construction of Oil refineries. Dangote, Orient Petroleum and twenty other companies got the license to build refineries. On the other hand, you don't need any license to manufacture Ventilators. PHIPEX: 6 Likes 1 Share |

Supan: Wilstino: And you think Innoson is the only car maker or car plant here in the country? What happens if the govt of each state decides to push for the maker in their state? And for you guys citing dangote as case study, it's a dunb comparison. Infact, don't dare bring Dangote into this. The guy don't wait on the govt to do anything. He cite opportunity and invest in it. He realised the refinery is one thing Nigeria need functioning and since the federal government had failed to rescucitate the ones we have for years, he just did what a good businessman would and cite one near a potential supply. And add to that is the fact that the guy had been meeting potential suppliers outside the country too in case home fails to work. So, unless you want to be mischievous, there is no comparison here. 7 Likes 1 Share |

leokid866: They did that bass in necessity, and if GM motor product our military cars and van, where are we going to get the parts when they are faulty, We bought from him coz it save cost and with wat he did when our aircraft got issue. Before considering how he is an indigenous company. Lagos is ordering BRT from outside country why not buy from from home. If he produced those ventilator he will have to share it to his community coz govt will not buy, did GM motor dropped prototype before they start work, how many countries has ordered for it Are those Japanese car company also producing it as it is of high demand. 2 Likes |

Innoson's marketing strategy and survival depend solely on government patronage, this company after so many years is still not a mainstream company with products all over the country, in private garages, on our streets and everywhere., their main focus is state and FG contracts. To his credit, he's lobbying the CBN for N4 billion loan, but I'm not sure if he's importing the respirators if he's manufacturing them or just assembling them, but I honestly think Inosson should by now very dominant in Nigeria and West Africa. Due to the seriousness of the situation, I think the government should give him the loan directly or loan him some of the donated funds to start and ramp-up production. 3 Likes |

Hyperchi: Don't dumbly bring Lagos into this. The BRT you talk about are produced in Lagos and the state even has a partnership deal on each produced unit. The state has her numerous car plants and/or makers who pay direct tax to the coffer, why would she patronise any other from some other state other than the ones in her domain. Sometimes I just feel I can't deal with the subpar level of some people IQ here. 10 Likes 3 Shares |

You don't understand the situation. 1) Ventilators are medical machines to help a patient to continue to breath even when there is serious compromise in the respiratory system of the patient. 2) The use of ventilators is NOT limited to COVID-19. 3) Increased demand for ventilators at this period is due to the pandemic. 4) Innoson can use this opportunity to start a permanent local production of ventilators in Nigeria which will continue to meet the demand of Nigeria even after the COVID-19 pandemic is over. 5) Innoson can export to our neighboring countries too and even be the sole supplier of ventilators in West Africa. 6) If he is serious about it, he should get loans from banks/investors. The FG can even give him credit facilities through the Bank of Industry, import waivers (already in place for medical equipments) etc 7) The Buhari administration (through NPF, Immigration, Nigerian Customs, Army, FRSC, Federal Universities etc) is biggest buyer of Innoson vehicles PHIPEX: 5 Likes 1 Share |
