Dangote is but one out of many. We know the special privileges he has been getting. Plus his businesses are much larger than Innoson.

We don't know what is going on between the FG and Innoson. You are better than this.

PHIPEX:
Did FG ask Dangote to refine some litres of fuel first before he got govt backing to build refinery? Govt should always support critical sectors, that's how countries grow not by begging.

He is right. They can produce and even export it as the world demand is increasing. No need to wait for the government to tell you "do so". After all, it's your own private company.

It is not in the line of in no son biz....nd Nigeria is a country crazy abt foreign made stuffs...

You have to b sure its market is for you b4 u substitute resources meant for vehicles to produce what government will not buy...

Innosson is right

Ventilators are the most sought after items in the world right now. Countries are willing to pay any amount judtbto have them. If Innoson is serious, he should approach a commercial bank and get the N4b loan from them. He will make more than double of the investment if he can truly deliver within the next one month.

Innoson can't approach any bank for loan cos his credibility is in tatters after refusing to pay back the loan he took from GTB.

The illiterate fool never thought a day like this would come when he would need a loan from the banks.

Valid point from Bashir Ahmad, let Innoson produce and export if possible, we don't want assembled ventilators from China, it has to be made in Nigeria and assembled here. Do not wait for government to ask you to start.

By 'support' you mean dashed free money or break excessive protocols for one's sake then return to start selling those things at a more expensive rate than those that are imported?

Innoson is not a serious businessman. I see him as one who is political and tries to create unfavourable situations for himself by making comments that fly above one's head.

He reportedly donated N2.5bn but he's looking for N4bn? I don't understand.

He had to wait to announce his idea, the requested a mobilization sum, for what exactly?

Of course he has a issue with INNOSON! One is a Fulani serving a Fulani bigot, and the other is Igbo! The fact he said what he said tells us he and his oga Buhari haven’t even bothered to contact INNOSON to ask for a prototype of the ventilator he said he can manufacture!
Look at a bigot calling someone else a bigot, what has Fulani and Buhari got to do with the topic? How many SE governors or lawmakers have requested for them even if not used now, it can still be used for other ailments now or in the future.

You'd always blame the whole world for your misfortunes but na una holy pass

Why won't they beg Elon Musk? Bayero's production cannot meet demand if the Coronavirus cases spike.

The point of his tweet is that Bayero Uni did not seek FG's intervention before starting production.

Agboriotejoye:

This bashir Ahmad is a total idiot. Since Bayero University is producing, why then did he beg Elon for respirators we can't get and can't work for us? That shows the problem with them in dis govt. They're so incompetent, they don't know when they contradict themselves.

Dangote transited from importation of cement to manufacturing of cement in 2003 with his acquisition of Benue Cement Company.

Around 2007, the newly built Obajana cement company merged with BCC to form Dangote Cement Company.

The company diversified into Oil refinery (which is still under construction) much more later.

If that changes, hmmmm...mk i nor talk
Y'all place too much importance on yourselves. Call a businessman how his company can help when it's not like he'd be giving out the ventilators for free o. Why do you guys think this way?

Why should a serious entrepreneur be fed or treated like a baby before he gets serious about meeting societal demands?

See how dull you are? The same Elon he went to beg has been running his company at a loss. Why didn't you ask him to pack up? It has emerged afterwards that Elon didn't produce those ventilators himself, he purchased them from resmed with the intention to resell but found out he purchased the wrong type, yet this govt fed ignoramus went a begging. Even if innoson intends to import parts and package here, is it not cheaper and faster than buying wholes or begging for that matter. Bashir can also beg his Bayero University to produce more since they're already producing. Fucking bigot like his oga

Slow down, my friend.

1. Tesla is the most valuable U.S. automaker ever.

2. Tesla is not only profitable, but it also generated $105 million profit in January.

3. Tesla is sitting on $5.5 billion cash to do whatever with and the last time I checked, they are not begging the US government for any money to make ventilators, they are making it with their money and giving it away free.

4. You don't know how much or proclaim how cheap or expensive innoson's ventilators will be unless you are in possession of his plans, material cost, labor cost, shipping cost and so on.

5. Youn Nigerians, innovators and entrepreneurs are stepping up and they are not asking the government for 1 kobo, innoson too can do something for Nigeria free of charge per corporate responsibility.

You don't have to call him or his oga a bigot, that's the problem with you folks, you think other people's views are against your tribe or ethnic group and respond defensively and tribally instead of debating what was said with your own better views and ideas.

You can ask for free ventilators, Bayero University can't meet up demand. But a company wants to produce in quantity for you. But you can't reason with the company

Is Innoson producing Ventilators before? So when he produces, the bambiala government will come and collect free...idi.ots

I think the government would consider funding private

You don't get it, do you? It's a veiled slight at Innoson implying that the car maker's motivation is profits. 'Especially when the demand for ventilators is more than motors...' You actually think it's right to make and release ventilators to the public especially at a time like this without seeking government approval?

I still insist he's an idiot. Since Bayero is now producing, let FG give them the 4bn innoson is asking for to expand production. With that there won't be any need to beg Elon.
This guy is a barefaced liar that's where I'm going. When did Bayero develop an air compression factory that they're producing ventilators. They might be THINKING of doing so but definitely not doing it. If they were, and this govt is not helping them expand to meet at least half of our demands, then the govt is more stupid than I thought.
