Bashir is right. Innoson is not ready to contribute anything to help humanity rather he see this as an opportunity to become dangote.

There are many Countries that will buy the Innoson ventilators, he doesn't need the Federal Government to direct me to start producing a scarced commodity that's in hot demand all over the world.

This is a very foolish comment and it's very easy to see that you are not a business man, just like Bashir.

Why should a serious entrepreneur be fed or treated like a baby before he gets serious about meeting societal demands?

Dont quote me like im igbo..im not

Shouting Innoson up and down.

Nobody is taking about Bayern University, How do they manufacture their Ventilators, with which facilities and equipments

Exactly, is it with those dilapidated facilities? And even if they manage to produce such, it would look like what they use for sacrifice in the shrine.

FG cannot give N4bn to Innoson. You don't even know what Innoson is planning. You don't know what is going on but FG should give out N4bn because Innoson said so. We don't know the details of Bayero's production. Let's not assume.

Innoson knows the government. They ahve worked together in the past. Nothing about this present issue is bigotry except for overzealous bigots who are used to seeing bigotry everywhere.

What is he planning? To run away with the money? Lol. You think we was just drinking beer and requested 4 billion? He must have given them the cost implication.

Tribalism no go kill this Bashir. What happened to carefully explaining the modus operandi of the APC government in such circumstances? Oh, I forgot, he does not even know what that means. PS: BUK is a government-run establishment, using free government funds.
Re: Bashir Ahmad's Response To Innoson On Ventilator Offer by bamasite2: 8:42am On Apr 04, 2020
Wrong comparison. I hate long arguments but are you aware that states in the US are fighting each other in a price war to be the one to first receive ventilators from Chinese manufacturers?
The law of demand and supply favour innoson and this is time for him to gain world wide recognition. Imagine a US state ordering for 500 ventilators from innoson! Do you know the amount of free publicity - quality PR he will get? Let us imagine the impossible that he produces the ventilators and Nigeria does not buy from him (of course that is impossible). Many foreign countries and private donors will buy from him
Whiteangel1234:
Innoson is a Private Business man he can't go into producing Ventilators without a Ready market to buy it . so that 4 billion maybe contract to supply Govt 5000 ventilators . Just like Dangote cannot Build Refinery without direct assurance of oil well from the Nigeria Government

Bashir has issues with innoson.. and believe is personal..

This administration have supported innoson to an extend and would do more if not for corona.. that affected governance, considering how Nigeria political and governance work.

Innoson at least for don show us prototype as to encourage government to intervene urgently

Is all about saving lives.

Bashir like all zombies remain a zombie

They mpam below should show me which one his region the assemble.
Ojukokoro.

Nonsense!

The money is a loan and stop talking about prototype because when Dangote decided to build a refinery,FG didn't ask for prototype.

Innoson ask for a 4 billion loan,I bet if it was Dangote FG would have given it to him without asking questions.

Why are you all praising Bashir, the guy is clearly a dumb. America released $8b grant not loans to over 100 companies to start making research on covid-19 drugs. Mind you some of these companies make billions in profit o. Why should Innoson's case be any different if truly we have a serious government??

SMH! See you, comparing the business environment of the US with that of Nigeria. I pray you become a billionaire someday. When you are, go ahead and massively produce equipment for the Nigerian government without a formal contract agreement.

Same people clamored that FG should fund Maurice Iwu's phantom Covid19 vaccine without evidence of any research, review or testing.
Now they want 4billion for an adventure with no prototype, who does that?

Have Innoson shown the slightest capacity to produce a ventilator?

Every Automobile manufacturer in Nigeria too should request for their own billions na, since FG don turn father Christmas.

Why did you have to save pocket money for yourself and hustle, when your friend's dad placed him on salary?

I simply used what might appear a weird example because I don't want to go into deep economics. You see, if they can prove themselves, the market is there. That is what is most important.
mekaboy:

Ventilators are not face masks or hand sanitizers. The companies producing for US and UK waited for government to request before they produced. Why didn't they jump in and start producing?

You still don't get it.

If It was Dangote that asked for a 4billion loan do build these things don't you think the FG would have provided it for him without thinking otherwise?

Whether there is a Market for it or not,all he need is a loan.

Their whole reputation is false, all non sentimental people can see that they don't make anything there. Every single car they say they produce are products of Chinese engineering franchised to them and other car assembly companies.

It's not everything Igbo people should use to make useless noise, this behaviour is irritating.

Bro, BUK is a government-run university. meaning they are 100% funded by government. This Bashir is a waste and unfortunately a lot of people on nairaland aren't educated enough to understand this.

See them talking about demand and suppy.. go and read why multinational pharma.. were reluctant to produce ebola vaccine. And who told you it's impossible Nigerian govt won't buy from him when the Minister for health have come out to say they may not need more ventilators for treatment... Dangote didn't just start, he got govt backing which is very good. Do you know how many times CBN and other senior officials visited his site? This is how a country should run. You don't expect Innoson to run to a bank and take 4billion loan just on HOPE that govt will buy, who does that?

Good explanation, however, you're explaining to close-minded people. They're more interested in seeing Innoson or any other igbo business suffer.

This statement is full of sentiments and ignorance. What you need are ventilators. Dyson producing for UK does not make ventilators. They are making on demand. If government needs ventilators produced locally, they should simply pay and see If he fails to deliver . Anyways that's the Nigerian way. They will wait till the situation escalates beyond control before they invest.

As rock clinic had no panadol because Buhari travels to UK for treatment. I'm sure there is a ventilator there now.

Did FG ask Dangote to refine some litres of fuel first before he got govt backing to build refinery? Govt should always support critical sectors, that's how countries grow not by begging.
You produce your design before it gets approved even before your lenders agree to give you money. Your analogy is flawed.

He should produce a prototype if he is serious about it. Then the commitments can begin
