OP.... My experience is whenever my hair over grown (in my own relative way).Headache sets in... I won't be alright not until I go for hair cut.

I just have a little problem, though it is not a problem except that I like my hair grown... haha!
Okay, whenever I let my hair grow to a particular stage, I fall sick. I mean, seriously sick that I can't stand up or walk.

I noticed it first in my 100L in school, since that was the first time I was opportune to let my hair grow so well. The sickness came midnight, and in the morning I rushed to get a cut and got fine without any medication.

The second time, I was in 200L. I got sick and called my mum to tell her I was going to return home for treatment, my hair was grown and I knew she'd complain about it and visited the barber first.

When I reached home same day, no medications, no treatments at all, I became very fine.

In my third year again, I let my hair grow. It was giving me signs that I'd soon get sick, and I ignored it. It came again midnight, and I couldn't sleep. Fever, headaches, stomach pains, legs were aching and I could barely see.

In the morning I rushed to the barber's shop, as early as 6 o'clock. I didn't even let him carve my hair... haha!

He just barbed me, I rushed home and fell on my bed. I didn't lock the doors, no bathing, nothing.
When I woke up, the sickness was mysteriously gone.

Now I'm confused because this is so abnormal.
I have only heard of people who had dreadlocks, and would get sick whenever they barb them. Why is my own so different? Worst surprise, I'm an identical twin but it doesn't happen to my brother.

Has anyone else had or heard of a similar case? What could be the solution? I have made tons of Google searches and yet no reasonable help at all.

I asked some people and they were telling me to ask my parents. my biological parents are no more around and I don't even know who else to ask...Lol

I used to experience same ish, although mine was just severe headache, when I observe that the hair was the cause on several occasions, I stick to low cut, and I'm all good now

I always laughed when people mentioned stuffs like this till it happened to me once. That was like the first time I let my afro go that high. The terrible headache came midnight too. Most terrible I've ever had. That night I relaxed my precious locks thinking it would solve the problem. Alas, nothing happened. After I barbed the next morning (amidst tears o), the headache disappeared mysteriously. A friend advised me to be using shea butter as hair cream and it worked. Stuff even softened my hair to mulatto texture. You can try it to.

Same here. Once my hair is overgrown, I start developing pimples and slight headache. So don’t be bothered because that’s how you are naturally configured.

I think this is normal because if my hair grow to a certain level I will start having headache. Once I cut the hair everything will normal. Cut your hair at least every two weeks.

If i leave my hair for more than 2wks, migraine will not let me rest.

Be at peace....it will naturally correct itself as time goes on....the older I became the less it the challenge, now at times 3weekz with no issue...so with increasing age, you will be fine...

Its prolly an allergy of some sort. Maybe your body is allergic to some hair growth hormone that is being secreted when your hair grows, to protect it and balance your scalps' pH but is interfering with other funtions of the body hence the reaction. So your best bet would be to always cut your hair to reduce or stop such secretions.

Secondly, it could be spiritual. Look for any good Church and go for deliverance.
By the way, you're a guy. So, why would you wanna keep a tall hair? Just curious though.

Are you a levite? You likely had dada in infancy and your parents cut it off without following certain processes.

Let me narrate a personal experience. I am a Levite, but when I was a baby, my mum used a comb to comb everything out without allowing it to form. She combs, but by following morning the tangles are back. She battled with my hair for months before it stopped tangling and began to grow normally.

My hair grew long and thick, but when it started disturbing me, I saw fire. Spiritually and physically. Last last in 2005 after investigations I was told to go and shave off the entire thing. Gosh it was painful. After shaving the hair my bro still lathered my scalp with soap and shaved the scalp join because no single hair must remain.

Thereafter I did some Christian 'stuff' which I won't mention here and since then no more disturbances till this day.

I can relate. But talktalktwins may not believe. It is spiritual

Wow, I thought I was the only one going through that. Mine actually reduced as I grew older. There was a time in my secondary school days when Afro cut was the in thing. I tried as much as possible to join the trend but this same issue wouldn't let me. Though at some point I persisted even with the serious head ache until it just let me wear my Afro in peace lol. After the Afro days, I went back to my low cut and ever since then whenever my hair grows a bit much I start feeling feverish again( though now it gets to a certain height before I start having that feeling, unlike when I was younger when it will not permit me grow as much as now before I start feeling ill). Besides that, I had other issues too that made me sick as a kid like
1. Wearing a cap in the afternoon.
2. Eating 'sunday rice' in the afternoon.
3. Watching more than one movie at a time, particularly in the afternoon.
Those days were strange lol.

Hello friend am in my early 40s, any time I feel feverish or am having headache, the first place of contacts is my hair, after I cut it the fever and headache disappears without medication. This is tell you your spirit man hate grown hair. You can loose good opportunities when your hairs grows in YOU are in contact with your destiny helpers. We are in this together. I equally have the same problem. If I don't cut my hair, I can't read, I will feel very weak and lots more.

Anytime exam comes, if I don't cut my hair, I won't do very well. I can't understand what I have read and it makes me forget easily.

If I cut my hair during exam, I perform extraordinarily. I even came out with a first class degree.

My head was very soft. It even affected my hearing. I don't hear very well with my hair on. Even when my eyebrow grows very well, it makes me uncomfortable. I am not comfortable with hairs, even a mustache. I always scratch my head if there is hair on it or I pour it water before I feel relaxed

It feels like something walks on my head anything my hair was on.

In 2014/my pastor called me and delivered me. He said a blue and a red bird where feeding on my head spirituality and he prayed for me. Ever since then the thing that always move on it stopped.

But the itching hasn't stopped. I have used dandruff creams, but it ain't working. I normally use a comb to scratch my head.

I normally use any hot hair cream before I get myself or apply rob on it. Even before writing my exams, I apply it and it will make my brain very active..

For me, I think it has to do with the head. Anytime I sleep very early in the evening, it doesn't itch me. And anytime I use red soap to bath, it doesn't.

2. The weather can contribute to it also, most especially if you are often working or walking in a high temperature environment
3. Our body system does not function the same way. EXAMPLE: there some people who experiences excessive salivation and goes about spitting around when dey are sick...Some neither can't cope with huge hair on their heads
4. Causes of Headaches most often in medicine is a symptom and a sign that something might be wrong else where in the body, our body is a system (various unit coming together tot function)...so stress can also be a trigger point, just that wen u are less stressed or pressured the symptoms might not be serious....so simply cut the hair on time .....bless u

If you can read this OP. You are not alone me too whenever my hair grow to like 2 inches like this headache and fever but unlike you I got to know when I was very young my parent new long hair gives me malaria so they tell me. But stubborn head no gree me. Now I leave my hair long but i do get sick at intervals but I get well back. If you can be strong you will over come it

then and scrape ur hair and u use shi mbe (tortoise sheet) and rub on it . it will never grow again.
