I could remember going through something and people said a lot of bad things about me, not knowing I was very highly depressed. I almost committed suicide then.
Also I worked with one very useless pastor, who pretends alot. He will use and use you but will never give you a dime. Very manipulative selfish man. Also be weary of close friends in the work place. I have learnt a lot from keep close friends in the work place, especially females. They are not worth it. I was best friends with one useless hoe in my former work place. I didn't know the idiot was sleeping wiith the MD. Anything I tell her, she goes and tells him. I made some cool money few years back and decided to help my friends and family. Gave about 8 of them 300k each to push into their businesses and asked them to pay back after a year. No collateral, no interest. Its been over 2 years now, only one person has been able to return 132k. Others simply do not care. I thought I was helping them so they could help themselves, now I know better.

So sad. God will help you find your feet again. Oore niwon indeed.

a friend that i brought from my town in osun state to kwara here,housed him,fed him and clothed him fr almost 6 month last year,got a job paying almost 50 k fr him,while am earning 35 k myself,
so i took a huge loan of almost close to 500 k to start a business but my so called friend joined league with some people and defrauded me,then shit hit the fan,i lost my job,got arrested many times,almost commit suicide because i was overwhelmed....
i was evicted from where i was paying close to 100 k as rent,my other friends and people i have helped in the past turned their back on me...
i lived in an uncompleted building fr two month...till nw am nt balanced financially,emotionally and psychologically....

I already applied this principle to my life since 2013.

My wife and I won USA visa lottery in 2013 and were scheduled for visa interview just second week of the 52 weeks that interviews for all the applicants were supposed to take place. No one to assist us financially, even the two brothers who could easily help us out. The lottery wasted just like that. Then, I learnt the human nature the hard way.
The same brother I transferred my saving of 200k to when I just finished my service. Many years after, he was telling me that he didn't want me to go to USA and become a slave. Hear that!

I am currently receiving treatment for a serious heart problem, I spent 4 months in the hospital before I was discharged a month before this covid-19 out break. My own immediate elder brother, that is I was born after him, when I was okay and well doing, I always send him cash, if he ask or not as I hate anyone near me to be suffering. Could you believe that he never visited me while in the hospital and never called my phone. I am the one who still call him. It breaks my heart till today and tomorrow. we are from same parents. This is the worst betrayal for me so far.

Came across this thread and the original narrative brought an experience of over 12 years ago to mind - when my hand was deformed by a machine where I worked then.

I didn't really have a girl or close friends back then - just acquaintances. This was due to my personality. The story hasn't really changed that much today.

So, I didn't actually expect people to come flocking around to show me love back then. But I felt hurt that people who should have shown more concern couldn't be bothered.

The guy who normally operated the machine that caused the accident only came around once, if at all. I stayed at the Igbobi orthopaedic hospital for at least 50 days.

I think the fellow even claimed a special flash drive I had on me at the time of the incident - won it from the Chinese Embassy in a quiz. He never had one before the accident, but I saw him with a drive that looked exactly like mine when I got discharged.

Pa came around only once (from a state about two hours away). A girl I admired and who was willing enough to exchange numbers and calls with me never visited at all. There were others I can also mention, but...

I didn't expect things to have turned out that bad. This is because I believe I couldn't have done such to someone I have related with at a similar level.

However, the experience made me to rely more on myself. I live my life not expecting help from anyone and I pray to never have to depend on anybody. But if help comes from anywhere unexpected, I am always grateful, usually very so.

Back to your question, last night, someone special to me sold me out. Like I don't even have a problem with that but at least the person should have told me what they did instead of leaving me to my faith and hanging. It was a souring feeling I tell you.

Mine is quite terrible , This year January 2020 , me and my close friend came up with an idea to start an electronics business , I poured my life savings of 300k into the buiness and he also did too , about 500k , he was to take care of getting the materials for sale , while I acquire the shop and furnish it to taste , 1 week later , his line suddenly became unreachable and I could not find him , I went to his family house and they could not also find him , I prayed that it wasn't what I taught ,but alas I recently received news that he travelled to Canada , I have been severely depressed since and contemplating suicide , I have cried ontop this money , I know how much I sweat for my 300k , the sacrifices I made and my close friend who knows my struggle did this to me , this year has been horrid for me , I now know the true meaning of poverty , feeding is hard , even my rent will expire soon , I just hope I don't kill myself because this pain my friend has inflicted on me is too much

I ran laundry and to some extent it was successful. I had 3boys working for me . I had a keke which I use in delivering to my customer who re in far distance. then I had a friend who told me about a business which he ll like use to go into. the business was into phone accessories coupled with phone parts. I agreed, I rented the shop at oba market, did furnishing and other body works. during this time I borrowed money from lapo microfinance 300k, borrowed money from money lender about 580k. then I gave osas my friend to come to Lagos to buy the goods we re going to sell in our shop. osas come Lagos, osas no come back. I was so worried I had to go to his family house to know if his back but they said they didn't see him. I called his number and his number was switched off. call his gf and she said she doesn't know his were about. after a month I heard osas don go Malaysia. I ran back to his family house to ask his pple if it true. low and behold osas don travel and he knew I borrowed almost all those money for the business. I almost died. the pressure started coming in as to pay the loans I collected back. I had to sell my two washing machine, my dryer, and my keke and other tins from my shop and house to pay some of the debt. I had to let go of my two staff till I cud pay the money. but after every tin I found Benin uninteresting again cus I Ve lost every tin I Ve built over the years because of one person. I had to move from my room and palour selfcon to a one room, face me I face you, cus I cudnt afford it. my gf left me cus I too de complain money no de as b4. after the whole gbas gbos I relocated to Lagos for a fresh start as not kill my self cus of too much tinking and pressure. till today I pray for osas were ever he is, he ll find good in all he does. but I ll never trust any body again not even my family member. note trust is very expensive

At least friends are outsiders when the chips are down. In my case, I don’t know what the outcome would have been, I wasn’t given a chance to find out because my friend “knows” my history. She robbed me of a boyfriend at least but rationalized it away. I let her do so because honestly I was in a crazily happy, other, space then and therefore didn’t mind like that.
But I know that’s major greed right there. I would never do that too. But it’s every person to their life finally.

Funny enough, I have both apps on my phone. I use them simultaneously. However, I guess I prefer Quora only because of their algorithm.
