This is a welcome development, the Yorubas should be effectively and perpetually marginalized and schemed out, because they deserve worst things also. What did they achieve for their rotten Yoruba states during wasted years of the baboon called Obasanjorijo Useless and woe tribe. They should step up the complaint, GEJ will as usual and as always mess them up. They forgot that Tinubo sold them out for a pot of 'ewodu', the same way their foolish leaders sold out abioala to the almajiris to be slaughtered.

So what has really changed? how are the Yorubanzas really faring now under the Boohary administration that was any worse than they were under GEJ (who treated the GEJ far better). I mean aside from the houseboy called Osinbanjo who is so inconsequential in the scheme of power play that you start to wonder if he isn't the courier service boy for Buhari and the other ministers in Aso Rock, hasn't Buhari appointed more Northerners into his cabinet so far in his office than Yorubas? how far with the white elephant railway projects that are still left in pending mode? the lock down has exposed the level of depravity, hunger and poverty in the SW more than every region bar the North of course. Yet we have a Yoruba No 2 in office, the people complain the most about Buhari now are yaribanzas as social media trends have exposed. Yaribanza don suffer walahi grin

If the president is smart, and I believe he is, he will never marginalize the Yorubas or the SW.

The stability of this country was based on a tripodal arrangement between the north, east, and west at Independence. The current political instability is a result of neglecting this principle since after the civil as a way of punishing Igbos, ironically, the north grew too big, the south(west and east) grew smaller and weaker.

As Onye Igbo, I know that while Yoruba marginalization may be benefitial on the short run, on the long run, we'll loose more if Yoruba muscles are allowed to atrophy, and the Hausa muscle hypertrophies. For a start, the Igbos will loose an opportunity for a healthy and reasonable competition in academics, economy, and sporting events if the Yorubas are marginalized.

Let me also say that the majority of Yorubas, at least those in Government since after the war didn't see any thing wrong with marginalizing Igbos for their own short term gain, but we don't have to make the same mistake.

The Yoruba should be made chief judge, Speaker of the House, or attorney general, we must focus on the tripodal structure not the current lopsided state arrangements designed by the Hausa military to maxmize Hausa benefit from the federal government.

This goes to show how greedy some tribe can be. I think the major problem Nigeria is facing is from a particular tribe. How on earth would yoruba elders demand for the dissolve of NDDC. when we all know that the FG generate almost 90% of her income from ND. They should have suggested ways to improve the commission and to scrap/delete it.

An elder (Tinubo) in the Yoruba race sold their right for a penny of which they were partakers and now they want it back, is it possible?

When OBJ was president, were all roads in the SW not bad? how many did he re-construct?

If not for the respect I have for elders, I would have said SW elders are useless, good for nothing animal with the brain of maggot, shameless beggars who sold MKO for 25Kobo.

You are quite pathetic. The yooroba people deserve all the punishment they are getting now for wasting 8yrs thru Obasanjo, no infrastructural development, no education, he made sure that Ndigbo are effectively schemed out politically. In the case of your yabbing no yorobaman including you has the gut and liver to deal with any Igboman let alone me, even if we have the rare opportunity of coming to meet one on one. What I have written earlier was not because yorooba people has done anything personal to me but because of how you daft yoorobas attack anything Igbo on the NL. I challenge you today whatever you have wished me or any Igboman is sent to you in multiple folds. May you fail in anything Igboman is part of, may you be cursed as you continue in your drive against the Igbos, may your suffering surpass any worst situation you can ever imagine. May whatever evil you wish anybody continue to dwell in your household. As the Igbos are holding sensitive positions today in Nigeria may you never benefit from it, as we did not benefit from the Obj wasted 8yrs ruin

Anyway, if Ibos hate hausas so much dat, or is hausas that hate Ibos so much that every slight opportunity, they are killed in their hundreds up in the north. And come down west they hate the yorubas this much, So, who actually do they tolerate? And to think about it, who gives a damn about marginalization in the first place. How did OBJ personally affects my life as an individual? Same questions goes for GEJ, how has his government brings succor to an average man walking down the road in SE? My brothers, every politician to himself and himself alone. Makes to difference to me. If OBJ did not improve the welfare of the yorubas during his tenure as president, how much has GEJ done to improve the living condition of the SE/SS, I beg, everyman for himself!!!

YORUBA ronu. Yoruba Marginalization during GEJ regime is NOT enough reason to sell the whole South. The middle belt people have suffered at the hands of the fulanis but they still identify with north during elections. What have yorubas gained in this govt to justify the blatant betrayal of the whole south. Recent comments on this thread only confirm what we already know- that yorubas are innately selfish. Because of appointments, yaribas voted evil. Now that you have betrayed the south and have a false romance with the north, where do yorubas stand in current geopolitics. In a short while, Buhari may go and osibanjo sworn in as president but can he hold power without the support of the north and SS/SE. can only the sw sustain him in power. The north would be mad at buharis death and the SS/SE is still hurting. I predict that Osinbanjo's humiliation and fall will take the SW down for the next 50 years. Wait and See.

How far your prediction

‘Yoruba marginalised by Jonathan administration’

Posted By: Bisi Oladele On: February 7, 2013

Nation

A Yoruba group, the Yoruba Unity Forum (YUF), has decried the alleged neglect of the Southwest by the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Urging the President not to see it as another baseless cry, it reeled out data to support its claim.

Chief Olu Falae, Bishop Bolanle Gbonigi, Senator Femi Okunrohunmu, Dr. Kunle Olajide and Senator Tony Adefuye spoke with reporters at the Premier Hotel in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, yesterday.

They said no Yoruba person occupies any of the top 12 political offices in Nigeria.

The positions are the president; vice president; Senate president; House of Representatives’ speaker; chief judge of the federation; deputy senate president; deputy speaker, House of Representatives; acting president of the Court of Appeal; secretary to the government of the federation; chief of staff to the president; national security adviser and the head of service of the federation.

They said Jonathan should have appointed, at least, one Yoruba person of his choice into one of the positions to reflect the federal character.

YUF said only three of the 36 principal economic and financial agencies, including key ministries, departments and agencies, are headed by Yoruba persons.

In the Judiciary and anti-corruption sectors, they said none of the 11 agencies is headed by a Yoruba person. The positions/agencies include: the Chief Justice of the Federation; Judicial Service Commission; National Judicial Council; Code of Conduct Bureau; Attorney-General of the Federation; the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

YUF said the Yoruba head only two of the 17 education management agencies; one of the 10 security agencies; one of the four bureaucracy agencies; none out of three government broadcasting agencies and none of the three election management-related agencies.

It said the Yoruba occupy few federal positions in spite of the fact that they account for about 22 per cent of the country’s population.

The group alleged “ethnic cleansing and discriminatory acts” against the Yoruba in agencies and ministries.

For instance, they alleged that the pioneer Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Accident Investigation Bureau, Dr. Samuel Oduselu, was unjustly relieved of his appointment in 2011 despite his great achievements in the agency.

It also alleged that the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah, sacked eight general managers at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) last year, six of whom were Yoruba.

The Yoruba elders said shortly after, the minister employed 75 workers, 40 of whom were from the Southeast, her geo-political zone.

They said the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), another agency under the minister, has recruited about 107 workers since last August, with 68 per cent hailing from the Southeast, according to the report of a news magazine.

YUF said the minister sacked the Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, Captain Adebayo Araba and replaced him with Captain Chinyere Kalu from the Southeast.

Besides the sack of the former Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Mrs. Ola Onagoruwa, for “undisclosed reasons”, the Yoruba elders condemned the recent recruitment in the Nigeria Customs Service, alleging that only 45 cadets were recruited from the Southwest as against 68 from the Southeast and 91 from the South south.

They said they had made fruitless efforts to discuss the issue with the President privately in the last two years before bringing it to the public.

The Yoruba elders urged Jonathan to correct the imbalance, saying: “Jonathan is not just the president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or those who voted for him, but the president of all Nigerians. At any rate, the Yoruba voted for him.

“Perhaps we should remind him that when a Yoruba man, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, was president, he led as a detribalised Nigerian, even refusing to identify with the Yoruba and frequently short changing them.

“We implore Mr. President to rise up to the demands of his office and rule as the president of all Nigerians, including the Yoruba.

Then yeebos will complain of marginalization

The question is this
Based on the foregoing can a rational Yoruba person acting in his own best interests, even without malice or ill will ,choose an Ibo as his president?

That would be irrational. Ibos need to understand this ,grow up,analyse the nature of the problem and make rational adult adjustments.

Yoruba felt/claimed marginalized under GEJ, because they have always been very envious of the Igbos who out of merit made it to some top offices in the govt.

One wonders what they feel now under the divisive GMB's govt that has turned them to slaves and errand boys.

There's no need bringing back the past to justify the fact that they brought all of us under this hell with GMB.

Yorubas are slaves under Buhari but they have VP and Speaker position. The COS is named Agboola, the former Senate President is named Bukola. Meanwhile, the entire Igbo race were begging Atiku for VP position.

You say Yorubas are envious of Igbos but what go Igbos have that Yorubas don't have x100? You Igbos are the most worthless group in this country, begging everyone for everything. Your IGR is the lowest, out of the top 5 billionaires in Nigeria, you don't have a single one, your fathers come to Yoruba land to slave before they can eat and your young men get executed daily for crimes.

You Igbos have sown hatred over the years and now that we're giving it to you in the same measure, you are crying hatred. Remember how we kicked out all Igbos in political positions in Lagos? You have not yet seen anything yet. We are just starting with you slaves.

2023, a Yoruba man would be President of this country and you Igbos have no choice but to support it. After all, a Yoruba Minister of Works is building the bridge you flatheaded ingrates couldn't build.

Mulikat Akande was presented by GEJ for speaker position. Tinubu fearing the rise of another political giant, kicked against Mulikat, rallied his Yoruba troops and sided with Tambuwal.

Mind you that the highest political post Ndiigbo held in GEJ era was Deputy Senate president.

So, how exactly were the Yorubas schemed out of the top 6 position?

What hate do you speak of?

Was SW not offered the Speaker of house position by GEJ and PDP, only for Tinubu to strike a deal with Tambuwal, who defected to APC and won the position of speaker against Mulikat, with SW APC/ACN house members all unanimously voting for Tambuwal, just to spite GEJ?

Tell me who are the hateful ones here? Why are you lots here twisting and distorting narratives to wipe up sentiments ?

What wrong did GEJ ever do to you guys. Right from calling him a drunken fisherman, you proceeded to humiliating in the house rep, by ensuring his chosen candidate, who happens to be one of you, lost the nomination to a Fulani man whom your leaders happily supported. Then when you had succeeded in removing your sister from becoming the house speaker, you went around to start campaigning against GEJ, accusing him of marginalizing your region, by citing the fact that you have no top ranked reps in his government, when in truth, it was your plan not to have one, so that you can use it to justify your campaign of hate against him.

You went about calling this man unprintable names, all because of your innate hate.
And you are angry that people are angry with your cries of marginalization against him?

This.

The hate was there already.
If it wasn't, why would Tinubu and Yoruba delegates just out of need to spite GEJ and turn the Yoruba populace against him, decide to work for the failure of Mulikat?

What do you call that?

You think it's not right for people to question your cries of lack of representation in the GEJ government, when none of you blames Tinubu for his role in the fall of Mulikat, and the rise of Tambuwal, just for his own selfish interests?
