Yeah! I couldn't name it all. I was lost in awe the day my covenant uni friend told me he doesn't want to go back to his school again. He was like ; men this your school is a class of it own, I wish I am here. Even postgraduate students always wished they had there undergraduate studies in unilag.

I have not been to uni.lag myself..honestly speaking it looks good..the structural standard is more than many state universities in the country.

Ever wondered why it is called 'The University of first choice and nation's pride'? Well Unilag is a beautiful edifice and compared to others, have done well in maintaining that standard. Although much can still be done.

Despite the small land mass of just a little above 800 hectares-makiing it the smallest fedreral university in size-Unilag still stands out in the midst of others just like how Lagos stands out in the midst of other states despite being the smallest state in size. No wonder it has the highest number of notable Alumni.

If you're in doubt of these pictures, take a visit to Yaba and see for yourself . wink

you are so wrong about the highest number of notable Alumni, Oau is meant to be awarded that and also most beautiful campus...just a few that I have here

School is under 24/7 CCTV surveillance. Power is, to a reasonable extent, stable. Almost all activities would be grounded without power.

I was in UI on a visit the other day power was interrupted at since I got there till I left. The problem is, they all brought out lamps and touchight. You'll not find a Unilag student going to school with touchlight or matchbox except he smokes.

OAU goes on strike cos of power outage for you to know they also enjoy frequent power supply, I can say as much as anywhere in the entire country, even Aso rock!

The above statement was what he implied. He was referring to our public universities which are in shambles. Even your listed school isn't exempted from menace. To crown it all, he implied that most universities are beautiful when viewed with drones whereas they are worst off

THE ONE EYED KING....
YOU'RE VERY CORRECT.

UNDER NORMAL SETTINGS SEF WE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE MENTIONING LOCAL SCHOOLS LIKE UNILAG OR HYPING THAT SLUM. EXCEPT THAT NAIJA IS LOADED WITH SLUM-SCHOOLS FROM NORTH TO SOUTH SO WE'RE SHORT OF OPTIONS.
OUR NEIGHBORS LIKE GHANA, EGYPT, S/AFRICA AND THE REST ARE LIGHTYEARS AHEAD.

I WON'T LIE, IT IS BETTER TO ENROLL YOUR KIDS INTO FREE ALMAJERI SCHOOLS IN THE NORTH THAN SEND THEM TO ANY NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY.. BECAUSE THERE'S NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTH.
so automatically you are justifying the almajeri systems

How could youths like you become leaders of tommorow

Ahead in Art and sciences too, the great Alumni in those field speak for it.

Honestly we can't judge based on alumni. Unilag has great alumni too. People like Soyinka and Achebe who attended UI in those days cannot be the basis for today's assessment of the university, because the UI of today is not the same as the UI of those days. The UI of those days was in arguably the same level as the Oxford and Harvard of those days. Not anymore. And, even if we judged using that, there are loads of great alumni from Unilag, such as Nigeria's greatest mathematician ever, Ayodele Awojobi. And, personally, I'd choose Unilag's Law over UI. In fact, I'd choose OAU's and LASU's as well. But when it comes to medicine, UI isn't just the best in Nigeria, it is arguably the best on the continent, ranked among the top 400 medical schools in the world.

I was a student of Unilag and also have the opportunity to school abroad and the difference is not that much. I had never sit on the floor for a lecture in Unilag and there are some classroom/ multi-purpose hall with A/C that I had taken exams and lectures.
All lecture rooms in my school abroad had A/C which is standard and nice chairs but when you compare how much you pay to study in Unilag and abroad, you will understand Unilag does not have a long way to go to catch up with lots of Universities in so called UK and US

CAPSLOCKED:
FORGET DRONE PICTURES. EVEN MAKOKO LOOKS BEAUTIFUL FROM THE SKY.

SHOW US PICTURES OF THE LECTURE HALLS AND HOSTELS. IS IT NOT IN THIS NIGERIA THAT STUDENTS SIT ON FLOORS OF OVERCROWDED CLASSES BECAUSE OF DAMAGED SEATS? undecided.

When it comes to research n development....nigerian uni including unilag are 30 yrs behind, n have a whole lot of hard work to do b4 even thinking of joining the race....

Some of you just open your mouths without any form of reasoning.... I can bet my balls that you haven't even travelled or stepped into any college outside Nigeria yet you are comparing UniLag to almajiree schools out of stupidity

the fact that Nigerian schools don't get rated high doesn't mean they are substandard, it simpy means they are under funded for research and have less papers published in academic journals... in terms of lecturing and delivering knowledge which is the primary responsibility of a uni, I bet you they far out class many , our graduates in Nigerian University are breaking bariers in top colleges overseas, my very own sister who graduated with 2.2 in accounting LeadCity Uni Ibadan , proudly graduated with 2.1 and almost clinching 1st class in law.. in University of Liverpool

PS: I haven't even attended a pubic institution anytime in my entire life nursery to uni was in privates, but I have seen lautech , U.I , OAU, and UniLag graduates do what many grads of other schools cant

The local and state governments are responsible for the education system’s foundation of primary, secondary and vocational schools.
So why focus only on the FG?
