Whoever you are going to meet, let it be in an open place and please go with a guy or a macho lady.

Maam please, you sound genuinely like a nice person and I pray to God to help you in this animal nation called Nigeria. Even your most trusted family member can stab you to take over your worldly possession. People are so mean and wicked these days.

Whatever you do, "Loose Faith in Humanity" and protect your life. That your notion of not loosing faith in humanity has cost a lot of people their lives.

Bad people don't like it when you are woke. They prefer you remain stupid and weak so they can exploit you so easily.

Regarding the GOTV transaction, go with a guy or people and let the transaction be in an open place where there is cctv. At the worst, tell the donor to use all these dispatch riders like kwik delivery. There is even a mechanic here called Gazzuzz that has an outpost in Mushin.

Tell the kind hearted donor you will pay for the dispatch rider... Las Las 1,000 or 1,500.

I believe the donor is reading this. If he is a good man, he will hasten up and follow the safety procedures and help to maintain his image. If he is a bad man, watch as he backs down from the deal after reading this and give a silly excuse. Never mind if he does that. He had ulterior motive all these while and never intended helping.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate this..

Better still, donor should contact @spenserservices on instagram. They'll deliver at my cost. My contribution.

Sweetness4, if you have been given full details by the donour, you can initiate that contact too.

Seun, mynd44 and Lalasticlala you people are very wicked and careless.
I was the one who first raised this issue of selfpaiid being a scam. He scammed me of 1k. I mailed the supermods in general and informed them of this incident and how ready I am to provide proofs, unfortunately I got no response. Then I mailed lalasticlala individually narrating my ordeal, I did same to mynd44 narrating my ordeal in private message. For days now I've got no response from either of them. The so-called selfpaiid is making money illegally on your platform, duping people and when the incident is reported. You fail to take appropriate action of investigating it and banning the IP address of anyone found culpable. You people are no different from careless Buhari who doesn't investigate incidents of crime or boko haram attacks in Nigeria. You lot fail to protect people from online scams on your platform or take necessary actions on behalf of already victims, to deter future occurrences but you castigate the government for handling boko haram with kid gloves. Now someone else has fallen prey to selfpaiid, and another person as well. They are all on this thread lamenting. Guess what, had you punished selfpaiid these two individuals crying here wouldn't have been victims. Of course, like all lamentations this one wouldn't even receive appropriate response. Time will come when less people will come here to make transactions because scammers are having a field day on your platform. I'm sure selfpaiid will open another account, re-strategize and attack again. He may even bring his ilks and invite them, possibly form a clique of online scammers on nairaland. Shame on the website owner and moderators.

The mods may ban Selfpaid from Nairaland but they can't ban him from Cyber space. Ban him today and he would be up tomorrow with another moniker.

People should learn to use their brain when transacting business on Nairaland.

Mods cannot help when it comes to due diligence.

There are so many ways to run a check on Nairaland:

-- Use the search button to check previous conversations, account numbers, phone numbers, etc.
-- Use Google search to check the phone number and moniker
-- Use Truecaller app to confirm the name attached to the phone number.
-- Check the year of registration (personally I can't deal or relate with newbies when it comes to financial matters without a proper investigation)

- Other strange conditions like type of Phone Number count. While I would boldly send 100k to a faceless guy with a phone number that begins with 0803 or 0805, I wouldn't send half that amount to any of these newly registered numbers (e.g. 0801, etc) without a deep investigation.

It is very rare to see a scammer with a phone number that begins with 0803 or 0805. It is always one of these road side digits like 07001***, 09002***, and all these funny looking N50 SIM cards. The same way they come up with new monikers is the same way they buy new SIM cards everyday to scam people.

While I appreciate your comment, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw your moniker together with your comment.

In my head, I see an Igbo chief sitting on his big chair with a calabash of palmie in one hand and his staff in the order going "you, you've done this, good. Now you go and do that"

Your moniker was well selected sir.

Most Scammers will first ask you your location so as to lie about their's.

This Op is quite d honest selfless human being. It's weird and odd. About 3 people asked u to drop ur acct number but u insisted on going to collect a used one... Quite intriguing.

@Op you should have dropped ur account number atleast for subscription though

What about screen short of your discussion with him?
Which bank and account number did you pay to?
If you are serious this is the first information you will reveal so people can assist you in tracking him.

Thank you

Please share screenshot of your chats with him and proof of payment you made to his bank account.

Tufiakwa. Some Naija girls and their entitlement mentality. I pity you oo.

Thats why getting a husband has been so hard for you.

Thats why you are in your fathers house turning to "Aunty Gwegwegwe"

I don't know why some of you are always looking for avenue to exploit peoples kindness. Any hoo... it depends on people you meet. Because left for me, I will teach you a lesson forever. Na today?

This same mentality is what a stupid girl I took out last week in my kindness tried on me and she learnt the bitter hard way.

She said if I can help drive her to shoprite and pick bread on my money oo. Getting to shoprite, this greedy animal packed 4 loaves of bread and in my mind I was like .. "Look at this one". She even added 2 big hollandia Yoghurt oo. When the initial agreement was one bread from shoprite oo.

I will not like to tell how this story ended... But be rest assured that I went home with all those bread and Yoghurt.

I also remember the story of one that took me to a Pizza shop to turn me to Mugu. She Left prince size Pizza, left Princess size pizza.. And did not even consider the Queen size pizza.

All her eyes went to was KING SIZE PIZZA JUMBO ROLL. When they brought it for payment, I saw a Pizza looking like A BAG OF CEMENT. shocked shocked shocked

She lived sha to tell the story... It ended in a very funny way at that Pizza Hut. grin grin

Mr Angry man, the kind people who offered to send something to her actually saw the free gotv offer but yet offered to send something to her. Perhaps something in her writeup triggered that. Your comment is simply uncalled for. I am not the source of your frustration pls.. Don't be a fool because you cannot get a good woman. Ezi ofia.

Too many opinions

1. For every business person on nairaland, there must have been a scammed experience either attempted or carried out.

2. Op could have collected the cash offer but she's beginning to feel uneasy with the too much care considering the fact that her gender played a significant role towards that unsolicited generosity

3. I would have been offended if I were the donor. The way everyone is shouting "Be careful" is really funny.

4. Any account younger than 2017 can never do business with me here.

Trust me, nobody can confirm if you're a legit seller or not. Not until you return the good they paid for. Your idea you are a legit seller is OYO. On your Own. It's akin to one hyping himself all by himself. If na me you form say you no dey show image I request for, good for me you no wan sell market. I even think say person wey wan sell market will go extra mile to convince a customer he/she is real, especially in such a platform filled with scams. You're not even serious. If na me I don jump you pass and onto the next dealer.

So if I put up a product for sale now, and below it I attach a picture of myself holding a placard saying 'I am not a scammer', that will be convincing enough for you?
.
As a customer,I am not thinking that the person I am transacting with is a scammer but once I see that placard, I'm done!! Better to err on the side of caution.
