Im so sorry about the scam you fell victim to... I understand just how you feel...
As per your bf matters, talk to him. That's the best way to fish out his feelings... If he apologizes and changes, then your relationship is fine.. if not, I'm sorry. Another thing is, if he's responsible, he'd be thinking of ways to buff up his financial situation and help the both of you.
That may be why he seems negligent. It could be the other way round as well (some guys aren't...)
Either way, I hope things work out between you two.
For those saying she should shut her punny and stuff, y'all should know both parties enjoy sex as well... Not just the guy alone sad

I can I advise you? the prove of love is giving. Any man who can't give you, does not love and cherish you. No matter how little it is. Don't force it!
I love this, this is the truth that most people don't understand, especially in our society, maybe because of the hard economy. It shouldn't be one sided anyway.

You can see what our leaders have turned fully grown men to from most comments here; men that are now shifting their responsibilities. So pathetic!!!! I blame the leaders of this country anyways. Nigeria street's so tough

You said he is not financially stable but here you are doubting his role in your life because he didn't give you money. You see why I call Nigerian girls parasites. The bobo is probably drinking garri and struggling but you are here saying nonsense. I pity men that fall in nonsense love these days.

So we've been together for some months, almost a year now and well my current financial state is making me have doubts about our relationship, he's also not stable according to him but a lot of times I doubt that even if he was he probably won't tell me, or he'll leave me to do it all.

I don't demand anything from him, he's not my dad, I loved him so I always try to act like a grown woman even when I need help, but after losing sooooo much money in a scam I'm so broke that I barely have money to eat. He knows this but he didn't do anything to help, that's how I've been living like I'm single. I do every thing for myself but it's not been easy.

Do you think it's okay to let him go and focus on me? Because I really don't understand his role in my life anymore, or should I try to wait while working and see if he's different in the future?

Babe, u re a girl, so u have inner instincts that speak to you in times of troubles. The main reason you even came here to talk about this issue is because it is bothering you already and that is not a good sign. A man who loves will willingly do things for you without you having to ask. I don't think that man loves you to be honest. I've been in this sort of situation before and it didn't take long before i broke up with him. That relationship made me unhappy and constantly tired. Infact, before i broke up with him, i started dating this guy that spoilt me silly and i became happy. The greatest need of an average Nigerian guy in a relationship is SEX while that of a woman is constant care and money. If you constantly give a man sex while he doesn't give u care and money, u will be unhappy like u are now. U can talk to him and see his reply. If he doesn't give you a reasonable reply, prepare ur mind for a breakup

It doesn't matter how much you love each other...when problem arises and you can't solve @least a part of it.....it doesn't look good

First question I will ask how old are you if you are below 25, he doesn't owe you much because chances are it might bad investment, but if it's fiancee as in Partner level then that's a bad sign. Support between partners is always a key in a healthy relationship, else na just mind games and everyone being calculated. But I have no experience in struggling relationships, my honest opinion you should be single and developing yourself , it's very scary in Lagos to be on the low income status it is not comfortable if you are very young break up and chase something financially worthwhile better to cry in Air conditioner and streaming porn in HD than being broke both figuratively and financially.

One complain most independent women have.

My dear, just start asking.
You have babied him into thinking you can handle it all. It's time to speak up. How he handles it when you speak up is what will determine the next action you will take.

I have been in this kinda situation and I took the walk away route because I couldnt bring myself to ask. I just felt he should know without me saying anything. But he insisted I could have just spoken to him about It, instead of walking away. We all learn everyday. We got back together. It's been 6yrs friendship and 4yrs in marriage and I don't lack anything except the things I don't ask for.

Learn to speak up just like I did. Forget all these "he is not my father talk" .He is your friend. Share your financial issues just as you would share with a friend. Simple

My sister.

You the eye witness of what is going on in that relationship.

Patiently and critically asses the situation of things. Assess this guy. Ask him questions and have a good understanding of his answers with a good level on sincerity, devoid of emotions.

Let him know your expectations and also listen to his expectations too. From this both of you can come to position whether to continue or not. If you guys already have kids, please apply wisdom in such a way that you decisions will not affect those kids, you guys are the ones that invited them to this world. Do not seperate to punich them.

If you are not happy in a relationship, identify why you are not happy and treat the issues, not just to walk out. If you have not properly address the issues, you may walk out and walk into a worse one.

You will find peace in Jesus name. Amen

Na English you no dey hear abi na sense you just no wan get. cheesy. The lady said the guy is into financially stable, but you insist on drawing on a scenario that's different. In your case the lady is financially stable.

Look at them and their double standards crawling out. Assuming the guy was the person that lost all, and the lady is still financially okay, the gospel would've been to help him, build with him, suffer with him and all the nonsense y'all say.
