You can find the soft copy online... Same thing happened to me. That's not a book to lose.

@Op... I read way too many novels starting from Primary school. Even now as a medical professional, I still read them in the hundreds every year.

The few that I have termed evergreen and timeless are:

1. The Concubine (Elechi Amadi)
2. Things Fall Apart (Chinua Achebe)
3. Anthills of The Savannah (Chinua Achebe) (Almost all his books, he was the author of authors)
4. Arrow of God (Chinua Achebe)
5. King of Torts (John Grisham) (I doubt there is a Grisham book I haven't devoured)
6. Mine Boy (Peter Abraham) (Every African should read this)
7. The Only Son (John Munonye)
8. When a Child is Motherless (Andrew Okogba) (Every serious Nigerian ought to read or have read this)
9. Weep Not Child (Ngugi Wa'Thiongo)
10. The Victims (Isidore Okpewho)
11. The Great Gatsby (F. Fitzgerald) (One of the greatest works of fiction in history)

Of course, I have since gone on to own a virtual library of over 2,000 novels and books!!! Still collecting, and would love to add more... Please, anyone should recommend current great Nigerian and African fiction writers on these contemporary times, as I seem to have more of foreign authored books.

I prefer hard copy sir... I'm very lazy when reading with soft copy...so I don't..

O really.. these two were my favorite too. The concubine was my eldest sisters novel. Used to steal it from her bag to read those days. It Should still be in major book shops in Lagos if you search very well.

I wish I can lay my hands on Animal farm again. Mehnn.. I really enjoyed that story.

If you're Lagos, you check the big bookshop at Marina lagos island. I believe it will be there.

I'm not in Lag ma'am.... I'll still find it...I believe I'll find it ..

Mhen Animal farm is sensational...I keep singing "beast of England ...beast of Ireland" any time I read it...

You don't have any excuse.

You don't have to be a student of literature to know the difference between a novel, a play, and a poem.

Imagine, you even listed a poem as one of the novels you read.

It is shameful.

Mind you, I was also a science student.

So I should also stereotype you and say shit to you and quiz u about science just because u did science in secondary school, When u probably into other field now

You have got a very low mentality

I ain't got time to waste arguing unnecessarily with what will not put more money to my bank account,

At bolded Nah your type they do oversabi at the end you ain't got nothing reasonable to show for it, you stereotype someone even when u don't know or met them before, I left secondary school like 15 years ago, am a practicing neurosurgeon, so u expect me to burry my self reading novels and differentiating poems and plays when I have got a million thing to take care of

Don't Quote or come to my mention again, but if u must, bring your brian this time cheesy

you are the biggest idiot of all time. you don't even know Mr and yet you're sounding like you know my unborn children. The OP would have taken it to an advanced literature section if he wanted experts to comment on it, but he brought it down to FP so even lay men's view can be heard. you acted like you didn't understand, but No! your busy bodied nature won't just let you..

wako!

I don't need to know you to know that you enjoy being ignorant.

You don't need any expertise or expert recommendation to tell a novel from a play or a poem.

It is not a technical or convoluted matter.

A novel is totally different from a play or a poem. Except you are blind, you should be able to tell one from the other except you were busy skipping English classes where comprehension was taught.
