The guy who got married is probably a prayer warrior at their church but you assume he is an atheist or liberalist...wtf does that even mean?

I remember a similar funny incident where the father to the bride refused to allow her follow her husband. After two days, the bride could not bear to be apart from her husband; she made a private arrangement with an okada guy who came at dusk to ferry her to her sweetheart's place without her father's consent

I share the same view with him concerning church wedding. In fact I vehemently opposed church wedding each time the issue is raised. All the scriptures used to valid the point of just traditional wedding is valid. From Genesis to Revelation, there is no record of church wedding. Jesus never commanded or ask his followers to organise church wedding neither was it held in the synagogue. The father of faith never had wedding in the temple. Church wedding is borrowed culture from the westerners which was infused in the church just the way Christmas and Easter was introduced.

The Bible didn't say what type of wedding Jesus attended. For all we know, a prophet married the couple egg in a synagogue. Besides, the wedding in Cana is irrelevant as it happened before the ressurrection. If we must judge this, we should use a wedding performed after the Holy Spirit fell upon those in Antioch. That's when Christianity started.

It depends on the family, my family will not allow a child follow man home until church and traditional marriage rites have been concluded. For this reason, we don't give gap, we just do d full marriage things sharply so husband and wife can start their life.
