Money Making And Business Opportunities For Undergraduate By: Precious Iriaevho The recent crime waves is not encouraging with undergraduates and unemployed graduates taking the front stage, yes the government has failed woefully, it’s time we all lead our lives individually. The student life is the hardest and arguably the critical stage in the life of man, where every support both financially and morally is highly needed and must be provided, but it is worthy to note that most students are still wallowing at the rock bottom resulting in increase of all anti-social vices leading to societal, moral and character degradation. The need for success which is directly linked with wealth cannot be treated with levity as a man who does not have the ability and resources to make his survival comfortable cannot live a stable life. Some people are so lucky with rich parents and relatives who they can cry and make request to at any time, they really do not know what it means to hustle just to have food on the table and if you are in this category you can skip this post to the next {but it will do no harm to read through}. To my fellow foot soldier to whom survival is an expensive game, let’s go on a ride. Making money is related to how well one can churn ideas and bring them to life, starting with your immediate environment, you can start something viable for yourself. Gone are the days when we blame our unfortunate parents, one day you will be a parent too and do you want your kids to blame you too? There are countless numbers of people who make huge amount of money with their common sense by just doing extra activities within the campus and there immediate surroundings. It’s a miserable thing for students to get stranded or be in short of cash when there are numerous businesses that they can venture into as an undergraduate on campus to sustain their daily living in the real senses. Some below: Typing and Photostatting A large portion of my undergraduate days have either been spent reading photocopied materials or photocopying materials. Making money through Photostatting is very simple and the simplest ways among all. You don’t necessarily need to set up a computer Centre before you can start making money Photostatting documents. All you need to do is to get a photocopying machine, preferably “3in1″ photocopy machine which can be used to photocopy, print and scan documents at the same time. Having a sincere agreement with your class governor or course representative and other of your course mates can put smile in your face and at the same time enriches your bank account. Making your course mates a prime customer is even enough for you to sustain your living on campus doing Photostatting. Just think outside the box here. Selling of Recharge Cards: As a student, you can hardly do without making a call or browse as the case maybe. If you can’t afford a stand within the campus then you can operate your recharge card business underneath. Make it known to your friends, hostel mates, course mates, level mates, faculty mates, your lecturers (As a female, you need to be very careful while dealing with male lecturers, not all though). Assuming that you are selling recharge cards, no matter what, you will be making some extra cash to make life easier for you on campus. You don’t need to start big, just start with what you can afford and you are good to go. Photography: This is simply the act of taking photograph and being called a photographer if you are not the shy type. There is no gender difference in making money, let alone making money on campus; most especially it pays well if you are a female photographer as you will always stay ahead of your male competitor due to your gender. People cherish how they look and love to see their beauty often. Just be unique and you will make your cool money with little or no stress. As a mathematician, let make a simple calculation, your average customers per day is just 20 students at the rate of 120 per snap shot, making 100 customers per week and that bring your 12,000 and as a matter of sincerity, you cannot spend more than 50% of the total moment, then what would you do with the rest of the cash? You will definitely pocket it and you bank account will always keep smiling. Beautician Yes! You heard me right, you gender doesn’t matter here. It doesn’t matter whether you stay in hostel or not, you can still do this within the campus and can still be done off-campus. All that matters to you is to make money as an undergraduate while on campus so that you will never remain stranded again as far as you are still a student. All you need is barbing items like clipper, combs, probably generator to power your service when there is power outage {there is always power on most campus at specific time}. And if you are a lady, you can as well be a barber and if you can’t or too odd for you, you can venture into hairdo and start making hairs for people in your hostel and from there, your story will never remain the same as a student. Tutorial Services. The amount of money you can make from organizing a tutorial class is virtually unlimited I must confess, I did this when I was an undergraduate and a friend joined me in less than 30 days. Just sit down, think of the course that is/are very tedious, most especially for new students and make yourself a master of know on it, organize a tutorial class on this course and you’ll start making your cash gradually. I still have friends doing it for survival. But, the only problem associated with this means is that, many students find it very difficult to face the crowd and not because they don’t know what they want to teach but they have phobia for crowd and their states of mind isn’t accommodating. No matter what, you will definitely fall above average on at least a course, and then you can make use of the advantage. Let take for instance, you have an average of 20 students who attends your tutorial class (PHY 111 for instance) at 20 per students, and that makes you 400 per day; stressful you said? Money doesn’t come easy; putting this guide together is not so easy as well. Just think. Repairing of Phones and Computers If you don’t know anything about this, I can assure you that this is what you can learn within 6 month as a part time student to enjoy your studentship on campus. No matter what, there will always be phones and laptops to repair once in a while. This may not be lucrative as others but with one hits, you can double your income. If you lives in hostel “hostelite”, you need to make this known to your colleague in the hostel and as time goes on, you will be known if you render quality service that makes you stand out. To make money on campus as an undergraduate, you need to be the serious type so that it will not affect your academic negatively. Selling of Phone Accessories This is what some people refer to as a small scale business on campus, yet, you can make money with it as an undergraduate. As a student, cuts your coat according to your size by starting small. You can start selling accessories like headphone, battery, phone casing, phone charger, etc. And even many more business for all. Making money as an undergraduate is very easy but dangerous at the same time, if you want to make money in school as an undergraduate, you must learn how to manage your time effectively so that you will not terminate your studentship due to poor performance in your academic which is your primary objective of being in school because of the fact that you want to make money on campus as an undergraduate to. Everyone has got a right to there opinion, But it's funny how some individuals become so obsessed with another man's life. They claim to know his story better than him. Holy than thou attitude cripples them, Out of sheer jealousy, They have lost the right to think straight, And are Lost In there little world. Social media is there battleground, With there magnified inferiority complex, They tend to seek cheap attention, By throwing tantrums and criticising blindly and foolishly. The coward has never seen the battle frontline, But he claims he drew first blood, He tells and talks more than the warrior, But still his foolishness is exalted. Talking, backbiting and criticising another is all just one way, The individual is ahead in all ramifications, So while you are busy counting his footprints, He is already miles ahead towards fulfilment and self actualization. To all those who derive strength from Twitter and Facebook posts, Thinking you are destroying and tarnishing the next man's image. Truth is that you are not helping yourself at all, because you are telling the world that he is a better person than you. So while you keep making sounds for him, he is cruising ahead of you triumphantly. If no one talks about you. Then you are no body. Shout out to all haters, may you live long to see the better man progress. #unto_the_next_one http://www.theyouinitiative.com |

Boosting your Self Esteem {part 1} BY: IRIAEVHO PRECIOUS A man’s strenght can indirectly be linked to how well and high he values himself. Overtime it has been well proven that wealth and even the good things in life comes secondary to a man who has taken primary concern in his present self working in tandem with Godliness. If you are struggling with low self esteem, then it is not a lost battle because you can boost self esteem and improve self confidence, by practising some things that you have momentarily taken as less important. I am not trying to portray a perfect personality for myself, but since experience is the best teacher, permit me write from my personal experiences. You can even discover your own boosts from experience by giving it time. There are many things you can start doing to boost self esteem. Here are some tips you can start applying to your daily life: 1.Honoring and loving yourself. It is impossible to love and honor yourself if you are constantly blaming your existence and actions . Blaming means that you don't take responsibility for your life. When this happens you are powerless and engage in negative thinking. The moment you can tell ypourelf that you are not perfect and thus can make mistakes, the less c omplicated things will be and the easier for you to love yourself. How do I get out of this trap? I stop and change my negative self talk. Changing your negative self talk is a great boost . Give yourself permission to ask for your needs and even right to make mistakes, and see your beauty. If you do not value yourself, who else will? 2. Do not judge other people. When you judge others, do you feel that you are better than them or you use this judgment to feel better about yourself, either ways, you are displaying an hightened sense of insecurity. When you judge others, they become your problem and the irony is that they may not be aware of your existence, so why the troubles. Live your life. If I find myself judging someone, I immediately change my attention , to something productive that actually worths my time. Whenever you have a thought that excludes you or judges anyone else, you aren't defining them. You're defining and positioning yourself to be way below them. 3. Stop feeling guilty. So many persons are still lost in the past, holding on to mistakes and memories that should long be forgotten. Blaming themselves, when they should be progressing unto bigger things and taking steps into the next level. Live a free life, you can’t control everything, but the few you can, do it right. If i want to eat chocolate, a piece of cake or even “drink garri”, etc. I eat it without guilt. The same if I need a nap , play or just relax and do nothing. Remember that guilt paralyze you. Even if you were mistaken, assume responsibility and move on. It is described as, taking charge of your life and actions. 4. Don't take criticism personally. Start to take criticism as a feedback to your output to the world, and see if you could learn and improve from it. There is always an iota of truth in every criticism, they are like precious stones mixed in sand, take a time out to filter the golden nuggets and discover the the treasure that lies therein. Some people think that they are better than others by putting them down. But in the real light, they are pissed that they can never be like you neither can they do all the things you can do. Some people criticise out of sheer jealousy, the more reason why you need to be wise in your actions so you will not play into there hands. Most time, critics are teachers, learn the best and ditch the worst. 5. Exercising helps boosting self esteem , your mood, body image and improve self confidence. It is really important to choose an exercise you enjoy doing, instead of forcing yourself to do what you were told was better. Choose doing what you like , make it fun and enjoyable. Give your self treats and set landmarks. Wear clothes that make you happy and gives you face a glow, do make up because it suits you and trying to fashion yourself after some other celebrity role model. I have spent time with myself. My body is light, flexible and I feel a lot of energy. I exercise frequently, if cannot run outside, I go to the gym or i just jump round the room, taking breaks to do push ups and pull up from the door post, quite ingenious. Just be yourself. 6. Meditate. It doesn't matter what meditation you use, the important key here is to be in silence. Meditation will connect you with your source of self worth and helps to improve self confidence. Its affords you special and ample time to get lost in thought that could end up been productive. Try this, it works wonders. I meditate every day; being in silence I connect to myself. 7. Have sense of humor. I have a great sense of humor, that’s helps a lot because I won't dwell on self pity. Start feeling happy and expanded . Learn to laugh at yourself. People that are unable to laugh at themselves because of their own insecurities and fears, are already on a downward spiral to self destruct. 8. Celebrate success. I celebrate success every day; even the small ones helps your self confidence. Become conscious of all you do, and take interest in the positive results too. Like me, i buy myself a large roasted turkey {my weakness} and ice cream to celebrate any extraordinary effort i take. I dont do that on a normal day. 10 Tips To Fire-up Your Creativity. by: PRECIOUS IRIAEVHO Creativity can strike randomly. Sometimes, we find an overabundance of it. Other times, we can go for weeks, even months stuck on a project and unable to move forward to something new. But sometimes you can help give it a nudge… When I’m not doing marketing or web stuff, I’m writing music. I was pondering today all the things I do in between composing music, or when inspiration just won’t strike and thought I’d share a few tips I find help recharge my creativity. Hope you find some of these useful (in no particular order): 1. Exercise Get up from your computer, music studio, art easel, whatever your craft and have a jog or a swim…this is a fantastic way to clear your mind. Get away from traffic, go to the beach, the park or some type of green space and connect a bit with natural surroundings. Your personal studio may be a creative space (although some prefer them stark) but undoubtedly some time in natural surroundings, especially stretching your muscles is a wonderful way to clear your mind. In removing excess energy, you will in turn remove excess baggage from your mind. The mind always follows the body. 2. Hit up the local coffee shop, gym or fast food. Get a double espresso, but don’t just head right back to work. Stick around for a bit and interact with some of the people hanging around. I’m just as guilty as you are at ignoring the world and spending weekends in a row for months at a time locked away in the studio experimenting with sounds or perfecting that new track. But even if you plan to work for a whole weekend, when you’re going to get your coffee at least put aside 15-20 minutes to interact with other people, then return to your work. The right people are extremely inspirational. 3. Try a new genre If you’re way into industrial rock and listen to it 24/7, undoubtedly your going to end up following a bit of a stylistic pattern and formula with your music. But you may be pleasantly surprised by what’s out there. Seek out an artist who is not the obvious choice in a genre you don’t normally listen to. You may pick up on stylistic cues which you never thought of incorporating into your music, and a unique crossover sound may emerge in your mind. You could even fall in love with that synergy. As my musical mentors taught me, unlikely combinations can sometimes yield the most inspired results. This is true with any form of creative work. 4. Seek out a mentor … or an apprentice If you’re just delving into a new artistic form and are hitting roadblocks or barriers, a mentor is the best thing to move you forward. I’m a huge fan of the master/apprentice relationship, and believe it is worthwhile for both sides. If you’re an apprentice, you’re getting the obvious benefit of working with someone who has years of experience. If you’re the master, working with a bright-eyed aspiring artist will prove a breath of fresh air for you, and you will not only be giving something back to your art form but your apprentice may one day come back to truly inspire you. I have worked to assist two aspiring artists and I believe both of them are already far greater than I will ever be. All they needed was a bit of a push with the technical side of things and then their creativity has soared. It is as rewarding of an experience as making art itself. 5. Add something new to your repertoire If you’re a music producer, try out a new synth. If you’re a visual artist, check out some new adobe plug-ins. If you’re a writer and stuck on a desktop, splurge on that new ultra-portable laptop so you can work anywhere. These are all just fun ways of mixing things up and perhaps stirring up new creative juices. Sometimes you’ve been working with the same tools so long you may have tapped them completely…at least for new ideas. I’m not saying give up your favorite tools, but sometimes adding something small, but new will spark your creativity in a whole new direction altogether. 6. Share your work with someone new Let someone new experience your work. Just one person – don’t create a new marketing campaign for yourself, actually seek out one of your friends or acquaintances who you have never personally shared your art with and ask them if they would like to see or hear or even taste (if you’re a culinary artist) something new you have created (or perhaps something old). Get their feedback. You may find that they the most unlikely person is moved by your work and turns into a big supporter for you – perhaps even inspiring you to something new. Take an interest in their art or interest as well. 7. If you’re a musician read, if you’re a writer listen to music Experience an art form completely outside of your specific craft. When I’m not making music, I personally find sociological studies, music literature, (reading about your craft is acceptable) and philosophy infinitely compelling – but it doesn’t matter really – just read something that moves you. The style you read may subconsciously influence your creativity in music. Alternatively, if you’re a writer or a painter, listen to music. Try something without vocals as to not direct your thoughts in any specific direction, but direct your emotions which in turn will provoke your own, original, unique thoughts. 8. Break your routine This is an easy one. Take a weekend off from making music – but don’t do what you normally would do in your free time. Try going to the local planetarium for a laser-light show, or visit the botanical gardens near you. If you can, get away for a weekend from your house and visit a friend you haven’t seen – somewhere far enough that it’s at least a 2 hour drive or plane-flight. The drive in itself may prove inspirational (I find long car-trips to be a fantastic time for introspection). Whatever your journey, you should come back with a fresh perspective. 9. Go to a show, art gallery, etc. Seeing art come alive in action at a concert or taking the time to visit someone’s gallery is not only a fun and wonderful way to only inspire your own creativity, but it also inspire theirs. Artists of all types should support each other, and it is reciprocal for us all to work to encourage each other. These are also the best places to find like-minded individuals and artists and really connect with them. Generally, you’ll come back from any social gathering of artists and have more ideas to work with in-studio than you know what to do with – e which is never a problem. 10. Find a new form of art I’m well aware of the importance of keeping your focus on your specific craft, but the benefits of having another form of art to nurture as well may surprise you. I find writing words and music to be mutually enjoyable and have engaged in both practices for years. I even find the two inspire each other. I do find that many of my peers in audio production are fantastic visual artists as well. I could never draw, but I find that those friends of mine seem to get a wonderful synergy out of their visual works. Many creative souls easily find a niche within more than one form of expression without spreading themselves too thin. for more inspirationals by PRECIOUS IRIAEVHO GO TO http://www.theyouinitiative.com |

SELF ESTEEM – the cancer of human character, the silent killer. {part 1} BY: IRIAEVHO PRECIOUS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU IS A REFLECTION OF WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT YOURSELF. WE CANNOT OUT-PERFORM OUR LEVEL OF SELF ESTEEM. WE CANNOT DRAW TO OURSELVES MORE THAN WE THINK THAT WE ARE WORTH! ----------- IYANLA VANZANT. Self-doubt is the most common epidemic that has swept through mankind. It seems unpopular and scientifically dis-proven because no one person can really tell if he or she has been infected. It has become the bane of the world, the thief of youthfulness and joy, the prison of the heart and generally, the barrier to success in most individual. No protection bro. I slept in cell for three days and was almost charged to court. All because I bought a stolen phone unknowingly with ma money. You can buy it, but please get a receipt from the seller |

I have never felt bed in my entire life, but I braced up and went in even though I was unsure of what the future holds. Medicine was all I think about. But now I know better, it was all childish fantasy. I need to talk to you, it might be your dream, but what really matters is what you choose to become regardless of your course of study. Have a nice day! http://www.collegereap.com |
sokarsenal: i personally dont believe any course is 'USELESS' in the right sense of the word....but what the OP is saying is a no-brainer.....For instance......I am a first class mechanical engineering graduate of UNILAG and you are a first class FISHERIES gradaute of UNILAG....who has the best prospects of making a career.....or whose I.Q. Would even be higher.....ASSUMING we both have no connectionsYou got it all wrong bro. I.Q is not based on what you studied, but how broad you can make your thinking by reading and gaining knowledge about other field outside your course of study. Do not underate a course when you do not know what it entails, it depicts a low I.Q. So fisheries or mechanical engineering, it depends on the individual. P.S I am a student of fisheries at UNIBEN, though it seemed like a mistake at first, but now I know that what I become is not what I graduate with, but what graduates out of me. Change your orientation and have a nice day! http://www.facebook.com/youinitiative |
HAPPY NEW YEAR This message is to all fellow initiators, filled with love and shrouded with the anticipation of a better tomorrow. New year it is, but happiness will not just come with no effort, to avoid us all crossing over to nothing, I have tried to make a list of somethings that will guarantee a sure 2014. You can add yours too, let the love spread! Get closer to your creator, you are not even getting younger, you just added another year in your unofficial calendar. Learn to love unconditionally, and never see anyone with hate filled eyes, thus love those who do not even care. Learn a new skill, its not all books and school please, it will come in handy someday. Never engage in any activity that does not make you happy or add to your confidence. Its a dead end! Get a diary and write what happens everyday to you in there, its a nice place to laugh about your mistakes when you become a success. Don't just hang out with every one, stick with people who add worth and value to your life. And look for those you can add to there too. When you dress, do not wear clothes for anyone, dress in clothings you feel comfortable in, it will help with your esteem. Draw out a plan for every week and month , and make sure you complete above 60% of them. Exercise a lot, you will be doing your weary muscles from last year no good if you become a couch puppy in 2013. Start with pull and push up. Join up in a voluntary organisation, and give back to the society, with anything, even just your presence is priceless. Forget about general opinions about you, what do you think of yourself friend? Forget that long chains of friends you have, get a few you can trust and with common goals as you. Get out sometimes and meet people, its great you know to reshuffle that picture album. Check through your contacts and go on a deleting spree. Some people are just dormant, they are not needed if you want to move on. You are not worthless, I could give up my life now to be you, but you are priceless, so am forced to remain ME, Proudly PRECIOUS IRIAEVHO "So find value in yourself and others will find value in you" @@next update soonest with love@@ PRECIOUS YOU INITIATIVE |

MY DESTINY, MY HANDS! {A short story} IRIAEVHO PRECIOUS YOU INITIATIVE A wise man shared this story with me, if it is true to life or not, I cannot emphatically say, but I can tell you categorically that the moral is true to life, and the fact that it has affected me immensely, is the main reason why I will share it with YOU!(no hidden charges!). A young man set his heart on a journey to a diviner; he was actually on a quest to determine what his destiny is all about. He had gotten a lot of conflicting comments and visions about what the future holds for him, so this day he made up his mind to see the most renowned of all diviner in the land, and whatever he says will undisputedly become what he is to believe, it was high time he realized the direction in which his life was headed and for him, there was no waiting any more. Like anyone on the search, he set out at dawn even before the first cock crow, with nothing except the clothing on him, spare change in his pocket and a morsel of bread. He was not going to let any extra baggage slow him down from getting to where his destiny will be mapped out to him. He marched on, not looking to the right or left, his vision straight ahead as he treaded into discovery… he was so focused, and nothing will waver his interest; not even the sumptuous call of his beloved delicacy, not even to caress his throat with the taste of fresh wine, not even the tinkling of coins from the money lenders, not even the seduction of a virgin damsel… not even the doubt in his heart could overpower him, he marched on! He arrived after a two sunsets, famished and discouraged, but he endured, for there was no going back, he had come a long way now to give up. And looking at the thatched hut from afar, he summoned courage and bashed in. Right before him was his objective, the diviner, sitting on his mud bed in deep meditation, with a basket before him. “Greetings, Wise one!” And without waiting for a response, He called out, amidst gasping for air “I have come from a land yonder, and I have been on the road for yester days, I have come to divine what my future has in store for me” he added as he lay sprawled on the floor in total exhaustion. “Welcome my son” said the diviner, as he cleared his throat “I will help you in divining what your future has in stock for you, just be patient” With that, the diviner stood up, went in to his inner chamber and out again, but now he was holding two chalks, black and white in one hand, and a tortoise already withdrawn into its shell, on the other hand. He bent down and drew two large circles with the black and white chalk respectively, and with some distance in between them, then he took some steps backward, bent down and then he placed the tortoise gently on the floor. “my son, look and pray” the diviner called out “the tortoise will move soon, and if it moves into the black circle, then your future spells doom, destruction and failure, but if it moves into the white circle, your future holds lots of promise” with that he withdrew to his bed and assumed his former position to continue in his meditation. There was a long stretch of silence… then the tortoise moved, they watched eagerly and with anticipation as the reptile crawled slowly towards the circles, then the unexpected happened, the tortoise took a turn and was headed into the black circle, the young man sat up abruptly with renewed energy, and looked on still wishing the reptile will change direction, but alas! It was headed straight into that dreaded black circle. “NOOO! This is not possible” he thought Just in a split moment of decision making, just about the moment when the tortoise was to set foot into the black circle, he picked it up gently with both his hands and dropped it in the white circle, as carefully as he could. “Why should you do that?” the diviner called out angrily “Why should you interfere with my divination?” he added ferociously “WHY SHOULD I NOT INTERFERE? HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO SIT DOWN HERE, FOLD MY HANDS AND WATCH AS MY FUTURE, MY DESTINY… MY LIFE, CRAWL STEADILY INTO DESTRUCTION, FAILURE AND DOOM. AND YOU EXPECT ME TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT?” he answered menacingly And with that, he walked out from before the diviner and everything, because now he knows better, HIS DESTINY IS IN HIS OWN HANDS, AND THERE WAS NO STOPPING HIM ANYMORE FROM ACHIEVING ALL HE WISHED FOR! Hey friend, nice story right? But I wish you would see it as more than a story, see it as a message. See it like it is talking about you; see it as a warning to set out triumphantly. Stop folding your hands and think that all will fall into place at a set time. Sorry, there is no set time, but there is a time when after working you reap. Take charge of your tomorrow, by setting out early now, and even if you have missed out before, no regrets, just set out again. You destiny is in your own hands and you are the only person stopping yourself from becoming what you envision. “AIM FOR THE MOON, AND EVEN IF YOU MISS, YOU WILL FALL AMONG THE STARS!” Thank you all for inspiring and also for blessing me daily with your love, kindness and concerns, i have never wished for more in my life!
