Barr says he does not expect criminal investigation of Obama or Biden as result of Durham probe

Attorney General Bill Barr said Monday he does not expect U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review into the origins of the Russia probe will lead to a “criminal investigation” of either former President Barack Obama or former Vice President Joe Biden -- while noting that their concern of “potential criminality” in the conduct of that probe is “focused on others.”

Barr did say, however, that “not every abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, is necessarily a federal crime.”

“As for President Obama and Vice President Biden, whatever their level of involvement based on what I know, I don’t expect Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr said. “Our concern of potential criminality is focused on others.”

Senator Lindsey Graham last week also said there's no need to subpoena Obama. Is this the end of the conspiracy theory about Obamagate?

1. All of Obama officials were 'authorized' to get the original intelligence reports.
2. The unmasking was approved through NSA standard process.
3. That process 'includes a review of justification for the request.

Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell on Wednesday sent top Republican senators a list of former senior Obama administration officials who might have been involved in efforts that “unmasked” former national security adviser Michael Flynn — including former Vice President Joe Biden.

The release comes amid a furious campaign by President Donald Trump and his allies to accuse former President Barack Obama and his top deputies of illegally targeting the Trump campaign and the incoming Trump administration. In recent days, the president has coined the term “Obamagate” to accuse his predecessor of seeking to undermine him and target his top associates — though he has struggled to articulate or prove any specific wrongdoing.

Grenell sent the list, which includes former officials who made “unmasking” requests that might have identified Flynn, to Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) a day after the lawmakers wrote to Grenell and Attorney General William Barr calling on them to release information about efforts by Obama administration officials to “unmask” U.S. citizens who were subject to government surveillance.

The list, obtained by POLITICO, also includes high-level officials such as former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former FBI Director James Comey, and former White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough. Thirty-nine people in total are listed, ranging from White House officials to diplomats and Treasury Department officials. Grenell declassified the list last week.

At last the 'Obamagate' President Trump is talking about. It's time to issue subpeona on Obama, Biden, and all the people involved.

I can bet the GOP won't issue any subpoenas. This will open up lots on dirts on both sides. Even Lindsey Graham is already on record stating he won't agree to handling out subpoenas.

Flynn can never be regarded as a patriot. He was a triple agent working for 3 different countries at the same time (Russia, Turkey & the USA), he lied to the FBI about his triple agent work.

Remember, Flynn already pleaded guilty not once but twice. Let's not forget that Trump told the nation that he fired Flynn because Flynn lied to Vice President Pence. Let's also not forget that Flynn under oath told the federal judge that he was guilty. Trump tried to lean on Comey to get him to "let this go." Flynn is a criminal.

The U.S Attorney - Timothy Shea (who was appointed by Trump in January to do this) had to sign this motion himself because none of the lawyers on the case wanted this stink on their career.

Now it will be sweet irony from Trump to make Lt Gen Michael T. Flynn as the next Director of FBI to replace Christopher Wray whom Trump is not currently happy with.

This is the divided America that Trump has turned US into within his first term.

The lock down cannot go on forever, people have to go and earn a living. I believe a gradual systematic opening of businesses where testing is paramount will be good

The other option would have been herd immunity, which can cause a big challenge to the already fragile British health system.

With the slow pace of our judiciary system, the reassigned trial will take forever with multiple adjourments.

He will still serve his punishment and if Kenya or any other country tries to cover for him at the detriment of their own people, I wish them luck because of the kind of sanctions that will be coming their way if they refuse to extradite him, that is if he gets away. I expect the military to have put measures in place to make sure none of the criminals trie to escape justice. There are 1160 sales indictments waiting to be unsealed, one of them should be Obama, but it's easy for him to slip through the crack since he delegate every job.

Lt. General Michael T. Flynn is an American Hero indeed, who served the US for almost 3 decades!

What is the genesis of the case?

Two years at Defence Intelligence Agency as its Director, Flynn was ousted (he clashed with Obama), then he retired from the US Army.

There after, he set up a private consulting firm and represented a number of foreign clients — including some with controversial ties in Turkey and Russia. Documents show that Flynn was paid $33,000 for a speech he delivered at the event, a celebratory dinner for Russia Times (RT) - a state-owned network. As a retired Army lieutenant general, he was required to get permission from the military to receive payments from a foreign government, and according to media reports, it's not clear whether he requested it and neither declared the payment.. This resulted in an ongoing investigation before he was tapped by Trump.

In 2016, Flynn began advising Trump, on security and intelligence issues. They seemed to be on the same page, both willing to explore the possibility of better relations with Moscow. Flynn on his part established a relationship with Russia's ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak, during the presidential campaign.

Fast-forward to December 2016, just after the Trump was elected President-Elect, it came into the open that Flynn had a telephone conversation, after the two had met in New York at Trump Tower in early December, they also spoke by phone on Dec. 19. They texted on Christmas and spoke again on Dec. 28 and 29 - to discuss ways by which the incoming Trump administration would offer sanction reliefs for Russia (he is not in position to be having this discussion, as Trump hasn't been sworn in yet - as he was getting highly classified intelligence briefing). All conservations were recorded. Students of history will know that the Obama administration placed heavy economic and financial sanctions on Russia because of its aggression on Ukraine.

Now, not only did Flynn verbally plea he signed legal documents that he agreed to the terms the conditions of the plea, all done with his lawyers present. Flynn pleaded guilty to the charges and signed. So does this mean his own lawyers are part of the framing too?

Now bolstered by Trump's rhetorics, Attorney General Bill Barr actions at DoJ, Flynn's attorney is now making noise about the FBI and injustice. Trump have repeatedely smeared the FBI and all the Intel agencies because they've got him by the balls and his strategy all along has been to discredit them to avoid his own prosecution by casting doubt on their operations.

Flynn's association with Putin is already a treasonable offense. There's still the underlying cold war that still exist between US and Russia
