akande.james:Thanks for your advice, I'm happy with my Christianity and I'm glad I'm following (or trying to follow ) Jesus Christ. It's okay to be what you want to be as long as people don't get hurt whenever you are upset. |
teniyi: O please, Christians, real Christians know better than that. Real Christians will not go and burn houses or kill people bc a Muslim is coming to preach. If you like but 70,000 copies of the bible, real Christians won't even riot. You can burn 500 bibles, na your money. Christians won't even blink. Infact the Igbo Christians may even use it as business and supply you more bibles to burn, as long as you pay for them. We don't worship bible or pictures. So of you want to burn, na ya Money u de burn. But we will not shed blood bc of it. That is how a peaceful religion is. |
samibel: can you prove it, u just hear stories without fact, can u prove that any Nigerian was killed because of that?http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/4728616.stm This was just the begining |
samibel: Christians are more of terrorist, if it's not trouble you are looking for, how would you use your money to buy a holy book which is being respected by many and then born it, or insult a well respected man, and you expect no reaction in return. You knw when you do all that the muslims are gonna react, then y dnt u allow the sleeping dog be, is that not an act of terrorism. You guys dnt allow us be, u see our muslim sisters in hijab, u insult her and dnt give her respect, how have the hijab affected u in any way, if you are not terrorist. And so when an artist in Denmark makes a caricature of the prophet in 2005, hundreds of innocent citizens in northern Nigeria are put to death by Muslims who neither read the cartoons nor have even been to Denmark before and infact don't even know where Denmark is. They just kill any nearby Christian as if the Christians made the cartoons. Then somehow turn around and say its a religion of peace. You think we are stoopid |
Chocboyslim: What is diz 2 u? Hw will u feel whn u see ur father dressing up lyk dat in a public? With piecing ear rings all over him......#Sucks , Remenber diz is africa! If it makes him happy so be it. I'll rather mu dad who is in his 70s is happy an active than to sit in one village aging rapidly and developing illnesses here and there. My attitude is that as long as this dude is doing nothing illegal, his wife and family are supportive (with his so called madness, notice that he maintained a happy marriage and happy family which many of his critics can't boast of) he's good game. Let him be. Young at heart is no evil. Let him be. Live your life and let him live his. He's not bothering you, he doesn't even know you, doesn't care about you how much more what you think. ![]() Life ![]() |
Otunba J: Ashawo or no Ashawo,as nigerians turn 2 chicken they slaughter on a daily basis,God have mercy. We have a country but we have no leadershipNo, we don't have a country. We just have a geographical location called Nigeria. |
bobthebuilder99: The Muslims on this thread started out denying that they would EVER support terrorism...then they started making excuses for terrorism. They've been primed. It's a brain game. Terrorism is being redefined. This guy said if America the terrorist is being terrorized then he will support it. And what exactly is "terrorizing America" ? Simple, killing innocent US citizens who are going about their own business. Na so o. Na in be that o. I don't think this is good for Naija at this time. So my question to Muslims is this; How would you feel if some dude comes to Nigeria to preach on the advantages of using drones in restive areas where Islamic extremists locate their violence? Bc that's how it sounds to me when this dude says he support terrorists that are terrorizing "America the terrorist" |
adaobi123: lol im not angry at you, i rarely get angryGood. ![]() |
adaobi123: lolWhy are you angry with me? . I only pointe out that judgement was passed on the victim and no one seemed to realize that the lady in question, no matter how questionable her character was, is actually a VICTIM of a Murderer. Everyone was like--> ashawo this ashawo that etc but even ashawos are human beings too and are included in the fundamental human rights including the right to life, which has just been violated by a criminal and such violation of the right to life should, ipso facto, be of greater concern to rational citizens ![]() In summary, she be victim. Killer don kill am, e no good. |

adaobi123: RIPYou've already condemned her! So soon Ada, why? Even before you condemn her killer. obadiah777: NOW SHE CAN FIND PEACE AFTER A HECTIC LIFE OF ASHAWODid you know her? myjobsfinder: may her soul rest in peaceFinally someone with a human heart . AMEN!! chadef: nobody wish to be an ashawo, besides the story didnt say she was an ashawo. anybody could be victims of bloody insane people that looks naormal. pray for her rather than curse her. he without let him cast the first stone. if you are still a virgin. yo may say what u likeWord! supaeagles: Even if she was and so what? She's still a human being and did not deserve to be killed.I honestly don't understand why people don't appreciate that a human being is a human being no matter what. Even if she is the worst ashawo, so what? It's not like the Hollywood stars most people adore are better than them. Na wa o. |
So this man isn't dead yet and he's not in jail either Right wing nut-jobs Some cracker may have taken him for his word now and tried to do something stupid. |

teniyi: For those who are jealous of the presence Naik in Nigeria, especially the christian, YOU WILL NOTHING to do to it. The sleeping giant (Muslim) is awaken.O please, Christians, real Christians know better than that. Real Christians will not go and burn houses or kill people bc a Muslim is coming to preach. If you like but 70,000 copies of the bible, real Christians won't even riot. We are not trying to stop the lecture we are simply expressing our opinion. And intelligent Muslims would have simply tried to calm strained nerves by explaining better about who these guy is. I don't know him but I saw a video clip of him saying OBL terrorizing America is a good thing. But hey, Christians are a non violent group of people are we are not trying to stop your lecture pls. |
To avoid being banned, please ensure that your post is not offensive to any religionOk, but you allow free offensive tribal posts. I think you should re-examine your stand on selective civility. Do something about the negative and prejudicial tribal offensives spewed herein nairaland everyday. Anyways, at topic, So just a few weeks after two guys of Nigerian ancestry are involved in terrorism in London, and boko haram still spitting fire, this guy who once said every Muslim should be a terrorists arrives Abuja for a lecture huh? Soon some new guys may be brainwashed or "misconstrue" his teachings and do something bad. I'm seriously concerned. If he's banned in the UK, for good reason, I don't see why Nigeria should let him come in to spread his message. |
TalkingToYaSelf: What Ethnic/Tribe Group is Charley Boy From?Hope you are not one of the numerous tribal warriors in nairaland? He's Igbo. From Imo state. I'm Igbo too, From Imo state too. But I don't endorse his character, neither do the majority of Imo people. However, we respect his independence and his choice and do wish him well as long as he remains a law abiding citizen. And no, we won't deny him. |

jidewin: Ol boy I've said it before and I'm saying it again..if na so..woman wey be say na u carry am go abroad go come turn around become Lord and Master say for say one yeye law get k-leg...I dey go spiritual fast. Leave story...once I see signal..na Ijebu straight for consultation...I no get time for court and wetin wetin..Nonsense!you forget say if you dey UK, you no go get time to begin look for "signal" not to talk of going "ijebu consultation". as for fasting. .. .well, it depends on your job, if you work in a place that involves brain-work and calculations, you cant afford to skip breakfast . . . make u for no go make mistake for work wey go cost ya employer (or you if na your own company) some thousands of pounds so my dear, the only solution is to get a cool headed girl . . . . . i wish you luck finding one in the UK. better do ya fasting before you get the girl. but hope dey, one of my friends developed a new theory that he's still doing statistical analysis on. . . he says the trick is to go for a slightly older and richer woman. those ones want to settle down and already have their money. he may be right. |
babyosisi: But seriously now,i am glad he didn't hit her back or he would have surely ended up in jail,no questions asked.ok, so you know. for all those peeps wondering how women could beat their husbands anyhow in europe/america, here's your answer. . . once the woman calls the police. . . you are going to be locked up. THE POLICE IS NOT COMING TO ASK "WHAT HAPPENED", THEY ARE COMING TO LOCK YOU UP ASAP. once the police locks you up, they take a statement from the woman. at that point, if she says you hit her, it's no longer she vs you, it is now you vs the state , in otherwords, she cant even stop the case, so even if the man is innocent, he will spend at least one night in police custody, call a lawyer(costs some big money)and the court will give a restraining order keeping you away from her and perhaps your home while you continue to pay the bills. then if you no get friends, you'll spend more money in a hotel room pending the removal of the restraining order. at this pointshe cant just tell the courts she has forgiven you, that the case should be withdrawn. NO! , she has made a statement, and he is accused of domestic violence which is against the state. it's the state vs the man. if she withdraws the statement, the state will prosecute her for perjury . . .ebelebe . . the best that you can hope for is that the prosecutor will not find enough evidence to jail the man finally, then the man will be free to return home. by then check how much money the dude go don spend, the stress, then your boss at work will start considering replacing you . . etc etc etc . . . and this is irrespective of whether the man hit her or not . . it's just a matter of she picking up the phone and calling police. so i ask you gentlemen of nairaland . . .will you rather go through all this or would you quietly endure the shame and hope for the best? especially if youre just a beginer earning little pay, some of which you need to send home to mama. there's a reason why marriage is dying in the western world, and this is BADLY affecting many good girls abroad who honestly want to get married as most young men are not encouraged to go into marriage. But what is so clear is how weak this man must be and the contempt she has for him such that she could treat him this way in publici hope my statement above explains it all Everyone gets frustrated but for a woman to have the audacity in public to assault her husband physicallyi can tell you that the majority of married men in the UK (even worse in the US) are not "wearing the pants" in the family No matter how crazy I get,I know where my madness cannot crossi know some nigerian women who suddenly changed to tigers when they got to the US and saw how the law is lopsided in their favour. i know one who even cheated on her igbo husband and called the police for the man. at the end she filed for divorce and took away their only child as well as half of the man's money. the man brough him to america o. and yes it's an igbo woman too. it happened in texas. it was so funny, bc she has been beating this guy for years, the guy kept enduring it until he pushed her one day. she called police. police took him away while she used the opportunity to cheat some more with her boyfriend , the poor dude borrowed money to hire a solid lawyer, and when prosecution was unable to prove that he beat his wife (bc he didnt anyway) she filed for divorce, she is living in texas now in the man's house. but trust igbo man, he sold the initial house and bought a smaller house in some not so good part of houston and also cut his work hrs so that he earns smaller pay and the woman cant get a good job and she spends a lot and so is kinda haggard now while the man is picking up gradually but doesnt want to work too hard since whatever maney he makes will be split for the woman.marriage in ala bekee. . . . satan is doing a good job on it . . |
where are the human rights groups? hope they, and al jazeera, and all other media watch groups will shout out these deaths to the public. . . . . or are they waiting for a revenge killings before they shout out. but men, the north is now like afghanistan ![]() I shouldnt be laughing but it's kinda funny bc just last month the UK stood still when one soldier was killed and then in northern nigeria, hundreds are brazenly killed monthly and it's no longer news . . . na wa o |

Texas.Cowgirl:Coming from a lady, I'm impressed. Women now beat up their husbands bc they know the poor men won't retaliate. Another assault on marriage. luvbeloved: No be him go marry oyibo woman?....You'd be surprised at what some Nigerian women who were happily married in Nigeria have done to their husbands once they came to the land of freedom. Violence has no skin color. |
goat head :Well if any tribe has even a victim of hatred it is the igbos. Tribal acrimony is an has always been bilateral. Many tribes hate the igbos. While I was home I didn't know of any tribe that trusted the Igbo. Apart from the Hausas who kid of trusted igbos ( when they are not killing them) most tribes hated igbos. Though now I hear the Niger delta is warming up to igbos may be bc of Igbo support for GEJ ( I don't really support him anyway but buhari is no better) |
is any rational objective thinker surprised by this. i have always insisted as far back as 2011 after the election of GEJ that this spike in violence against christians and southerners had the tacit support or (at least tolerance)of the average northern muslim. but my fellow southerners argue too much, and even today they continue to argue. . . when boko haram kills, it's no news but when soldiers kill it makes all headlines and recieves all condemnation. well, if they don't like us, why don't they let us divide. that way they can have their sharia state up there and the christians there can be relocated from the sharia nation . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .and let us have PEACE |

OdionOdion: You are a gay activist, must certainly be one of their numerous patrons.WHAT A S-H-A-M-ENot surprised at the name calling. But this thread is about boko haram. I will refer you to the thread on the new law to jail gays and lesbians. We meet there and debate there, if I have time. ![]() honprof1: So u r against the new development against same sex marriage !!!I'm against unnecessary laws by an unpopular National Assembly trying to gain cheap popularity. I guess they succeeded. That's okay. But there's something fundamentally wrong with a law that proposes to lock up people who didnt hurt anyone and majority are in favourite of it. Even clapping. But it's democracy. It's a game of numbers. I hope it ends here with this gay law. I'm scared of a parliament that can easily make laws obstructing the rights of minority with majority clapping. And NO I'm not gay, I'm not pro gay, I also HATE homosexuality and lesbianism, but I'm pro human rights and believe it or not, gays are human too. And they have some rights which are protected by the constitution and by global conventions and treaties to which Nigeria is a signatory. I'm not going to clap bc people who do things I don't like are being rounded up by a law made by people I don't like either. |
sac010: Drugs kill people and make them sick. Being gay alone is not known to be the cause of death or illness (please lets leave the HIV debate out of this. Straight people get STDs too).I almost thought I was the one making this post. Unfortunately, people can't make this distinction you tried to show. Wherever I debate this issue, the first thing they ask me is "are you gay?" And when they have nothing else to say they start name calling. ![]() People try to use Christianity to defend this law, and I ask them, would jesus lock up gays and lesbians to 14yrs? Perhaps Jesus would say "he who is without sin should sign the jail sentence" ![]() Govt passes a law to lock up people that didnt hurt anyone and people are clapping. They don't realize how much dangerous that precedent could prove to be. |
