Afodot0022:Trust me, there's no forcing her to block him. If they're not already sexually cheating, you just might push her into that, even though emotional cheating is just as bad. If you want to salvage your marriage which I believe you do, Listen to her. You'll need a lot of self-control and maturity to do this. She says she wants your attention, communicate with her. Understand what she wants. Make some adjustments, let her see the effort you're willing to make for her. She'll be reminded that she's not ready to lose your love and marriage over a fling. Most importantly she's your wife, love her and pray for her. Both of you should always make Christ the Head of your marriage. When challenges like this come, He will surely see you through. Your marriage is blessed in Jesus name. Amen. |
![]() Efuaye:I too saw the vain glory in the prophet. The quoted verse teaches that, we some times need other ministers too. (including prophets) Though a believer should be able to hear directly from God. What happens when you don't hear concerning a situation? Is it wrong to hear God through a prophet? The caution however is to be able to test and discern spirits that we don't fall into wrong hands. As we know false prophets/teachers abound in these last days. |
Dtruthspeaker:First, there's no error when the Holy Spirit teaches you. Especially when you quote what is inspired and written by Him. which is what I do. There's simply variances in our interpretations. Usually as a result of our spiritual level and state of our hearts. If we share the same Spirit, Blood and Baptism, we will share the same understanding. 1. I've answered this. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. His conviction here means He helps you distinguish between sin and righteousness. You will be surprised how blurred the lines can some times get even for a believer. And youll be shocked how those without the Holy Spirit cannot even distinguish between right and wrong. To them wrong has become right, and right has become wrong. This generation is a clear case study. 2. And Yes, the Holy Spirit is God, not God the Father, but God the Holy Spirit. Just as Jesus Christ is God, the Son/Word. It is a spiritual and not a sensual understanding which not I but the Holy Spirit teaches you to believe and gives you the understanding. May God through His Word and Holy Spirit grant us access and understanding that we may know and come into the Light of His Truth and the Power there in, in the name of Jesus. Amen. |
Ayima:Inexplicably, sons gravitate towards their mothers, while daughters gravitate towards their fathers. Biology is yet to explain this phenomenon. |
Ken4Christ:1. Can you elaborate, what do you understand by these verses you shared? 2. Also, what did Christ mean when he says obey my commands? What commands was he referring to? “If you love me, keep my commands." 3. What does practisng righteousness mean as a new creation in Christ, in the new covenant/testament? |
Efuaye:And what do you do if he doesn't speak to you directly? Everyone needs ministers. You just have to be able to discern and test spirits so you do not fall into wrong hands. James 5 :14-16 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. |
Dtruthspeaker:1. Remember there's no longer condemnation for anyone in Christ. What the Holyspirit does is let you know what's wrong and what's right. Reminds you of the consequences of both. And helps you by enabling you to choose what's right. Of course, the decision remains yours to make. He doesn't force you. 2. You know this. 3. What's your intention for asking these questions? Because I perceive that you already know some of these answers. |

Ken4Christ:The key word is not "abolished." Christ did not abolish or destroy the Law. Rather He fulfilled the law and His blood sacrifice delivered us from the curse of the Law once and for all. Paul also corroborates this. Jesus; “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-20 Paul; I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:21-27 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. Romans 3:31 |
Singlenhappy:Kindly shed more light. You're confused And perhaps I would be delivered from my confusion. |
In conclusion, What then is the Purpose of the Law? Galatians 3:16-29 16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. |
Dtruthspeaker:This is another discussion that might take a whole day unraveling and I have to go now. Rain check please. But I assure you, God himself will reveal it to you, all you need to do is ask with an open heart, pray and read the scriptures again. |
Kobojunkie:There is so much for you to understand through the Holy Spirit and in the epistles. I cannot explain them to you except you learn under the feet of the giver of understanding Himself, because even I am but a babe in matters of the Spirit. Recall the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus about heavenly things in John 3? |
Dtruthspeaker:I don't seem to understand your question. But as always just like old testament, God is the judge of righteousness in the new testament and for ever. However, the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, righteousness and judgment. John 16:8-13 |
Kobojunkie:You remind me of Apollos. You know your scripture. Grace multiplied to you in Jesus name. Acts 18:24-28 Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. 25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. 27 And when he desired to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace; 28 for he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. |
"You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Hebrews 1:9 The subject of Righteousness is one that we would expect that all Christians should agree upon. But is that the case? The quoted verse, teaches us how much Jesus Christ hated lawlessness/sin and loved righteousness, just as God, the Father does. And what was his reward? God's pleasure and delight in Him knows no bounds. There are various interpretations of the Gospel and Grace of Jesus Christ concerning Righteousness. But I trust God to help us by the Holy Spirit to gain a good and true understanding of God's will through His Word. What is Righteousness? It is simply put, being in Right-standing with God. It is also defined as Obedience to God's commandments. There is no argument about Righteousness in the old testament. So I will be focusing on the New testament. Because Righteousness truly is not of works. Righteousness is imputed by God. In the old testament, Abraham believed God and it was imputed to him as Righteousness. Enoch, Noah, Job, Lot, etc were some of the Fathers of Faith who were called Righteous by God, even before there was Laws of Moses. In the new testament, what is expected of a Christian since Jesus Christ has bought us from sin and paid our debt in full? So many of us find ourselves falling back into sin, even to our own surprise. Why? It is because we have not had understanding of sin and righteousness. 1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him. 1 John 5: 16- 17 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death. 1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. Having been delivered from the works of sin and darkness, we are now a new creation having found our victory in Jesus Christ over sin and death. If we truly understand that sin/lawlessness is from Satan, especially having been in the bondage of sin for a time, we will have a bellowing anger and hatred towards sin. We will also begin to understand the Christ-like love towards sinners. In conclusion, our assignment and mandate as Christians is to establish God's kingdom on earth and manifest his glory. Matthew 6:33 Sin is the kingdom of Satan. Righteousness is the kingdom of God. Satan through our flesh and mind has over the years made us love sin. In Christ, we have to discipline our flesh and renew our minds to begin to love Righteousness. And this can not be done by our efforts or with the wrong heart. We need the right heart, the Power of the Word of God and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Righteousness is actually for our own benefit and good. It is a perverted and reprobate mind that loves sin. And God has delivered us in Christ. So what do we need to do? -We need to truly repent of our sins and believe in God and Jesus Christ His only begotten Son. -We need to choose to know God through the life pattern and Word of Jesus Christ. -We need to love God with all our heart and soul and strength and mind, and love our neighbors as ourselves. -We need to follow God's commands. -We need to become committed to living our lives for Christ for the rest of our lives. -We need to understand that the purpose of the Holy Spirit is to give us Power and all that we need to be witnesses of Christ. Acts 1:8 When we truly hate sin and love righteousness, and we stay in the knowledge of God, we will understand through revelation of the Word that we have all we need in Christ to live a Victorious Christian life. I conclude and pray together with you that as we start this new year, we shall receive the true revelation of the finished work of Jesus Christ, the Grace to work worthy of our calling, and the Love and Faith to Walk in the Spirit that we may not fulfill the lusts of the flesh in the Mighty name of Jesus. Amen Is it not great that as we look into the Word of God, we are being transformed and conformed into the image of Christ from grace to grace and glory to glory? Halleluyah! "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection." Romans 6:1-5 "Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34 |
Kobojunkie:Why do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Was it stated in the old testament? The Jews fail to accept Jesus as the Son of God because they are honestly following the Word of God through the Law and Prophets. Ironiically, you fail to accept that Jesus Himself sent His disciples to continue his ministry. Some of their teachings seem contradictory to some of the teachings of Christ except when interpreted by the power of the Holy Spjrit. No, the Holy Spirit does not contradict the teachings of Christ, He expounds it. Studying the Word of God without the Spirit of God is the perfect recipe for confusion. So, I assure you that God is not an author of confusion, rather He delights in revealing his Word to his children and ministers. May we receive Grace and Understanding for every season to grow according to the image of Jesus Christ and manifestation of His glory. |
Kobojunkie:I did not at any point imply that any of the disciples/apostles was greater than Jesus Christ. I simply stated that since they taught what Jesus Christ taught, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, then their epistles are also Word of God. What do you understand by John 16:12-14 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." |
Dtruthspeaker:I do not agree with your premise simply because saying there's no difference between old and new covenant/testament means nothing changed after the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ? And means it's pointless naming one old and the other new. |
sonmvayina:I've been there, trust me. May be not at the same level as you. If you don't mind me asking, did you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit back then? |
Kobojunkie:1. There is only one gospel- Jesus Christ. True But before Jesus was born, there was the Old testament. Hence the old testament is important. And after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, there were early disciples, some of whom became Apostles. If you had been one of these early disciples of Jesus Christ, and you preached and taught what Jesus taught you through the understanding of the Holy Spirit, would that mean that you were continuing in Gospel of the Word of God? 2. Exactly. But the 66 canonized books were carefully compiled. |
Kobojunkie:The challenge I've observed concerning you,, if I may share is that you only accept the synoptic gospels as word of God. As good as that is, you need to accept the compendium of the Bible as the Word of God. Both Old and New Testaments and Pray for the Understaning of the Holyspirit. I believe you're a vessel that will do mighty works in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. |
sonmvayina:I have invested very little compared to a lot of people. I've doubted, backslided and even strayed away. I believe I've answered you already. Whenever you're truly ready to find the Truth, you'll pray to God with an open, humble and repentant heart. It's easier to do so today, cos truly tomorrow might be too late. |
sonmvayina:If there is anything I would like you to take from our engagement today, it's to respect other people's beliefs. I won't shove mine down your throat, I can only explain why I hold my belief. And I respect yours. There is a reason you hold your belief too. However, wisdom is justified by her children (results). Shalom. |
sonmvayina:I understand you. And you are very right. It is the same reason the Jewish leaders (Pharisees, Saducees, Scribes) rejected Jesus Christ, and still reject him till date. (Only few Jews believe in Jesus Christ.) Because searching through the scripture- Law and Prophets (Tanakh/Talmud/Torah) it was not clearly stated. And for a good reason. Truth is, it is a Mystery. It is spiritual. Had it been clearly stated, the devil would have known God's redemption plan for man. Satan would not only have ordered 2 year olds to be killed like Herod did, he would have made sure Jesus Christ never suffered or died to fulfill and accomplish His spiritual victory. To begin to see it in the Old testament is simple, Only when you believe in God and Jesus Christ his only begotten Son. That explains why a Christian believes it completely. John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. |
Humility Before God Perhaps the highest level of pride in the bible is to raise our hearts and forget God after he has blessed us. God continued to sound this note of warning vehemently in the ears of the Israelites when He delivered them from Egypt. Yet they became proud and suffered grave consequences for it for generations. Deuteronomy 8:1-19 "Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors. 2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 4 Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. 5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. 6 Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him. 7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; 8 a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; 9 a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills. 10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. 11 Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 12 Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, 13 and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, 14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 15 He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. 16 He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. 19 If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. 20 Like the nations the Lord destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the Lord your God." But if we remain humble before God, His promises are true from generations to generations.. Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." |
sonmvayina:Thanks for sharing. From our interactions here, I observed your exposure to Judaism/Old testament seems to be the basis for your rejection of Jesus Christ. Right? Do you believe God has a redemption plan for his creation, since the fall of Adam in the Old testament? If yes, what's your understanding of God's redemption plan? |
Maynman:I don't believe in engaging is rigmarolic argument. We both understand what I mean by Messiah. This discussion is not about the origin of the word Messiah. So you do agree that the bible does teach that the Jews were promised a Messiah. My simple question to you is "Who do you perceive is that Messiah?" |
Maynman:מלך המשיח Messiah, Christ, Kristos, etc I do not speak Hebrew either, but we both understand each other cos we both understand English. You did not answer my question though. Who do you perceive is the Messiah? |
Maynman:Do the Jews believe in the prophecy of the Messiah? If yes, who do you perceive is the Messiah? |
Kobojunkie:Your definition of religion seems quite biased. Because the knowledge of God comes through studying under a religion. If you believe in Jesus Christ, you'll have read in scripture that he practiced Judaism from childhood until he became of age in his ministry. And today, we need Christianity to know God through Jesus Christ. |
Maynman:I have no predisposition towards you or your opinion. I noticed from your previous comments, you perceive it refers to King Hezekiah and not Jesus Christ. I simply want to know your reason. |
Maynman:Do share your understanding of the scripture Isaiah 9:6, with reason please. |
