This should be written in stone and placed at every borders of Nigerian states cheesy .
It should be introduced into moral/ civic education subject as a topic.

Thank you. smiley

When you place your life in your own hands, that's when this seems to make sense.

But when you place your life in God's hands, marriage can happen at any good stage and age.
Mary, the mother of Jesus got married as a teenager.
Some of our parents married at Uni self.
Some of my friends started relationship during NYSC and got married.

No one shoe fits all.

OP, that lady has sense for saying she can't date a youth corper, what does a youth corper has to offer her apart from using her to practice all sort of fantasies and sex styles? I knew very early in life that I should never date an unemployed man that has nothing meaningful to offer. There are ages of men you don't date(18-29) these men in this age range are not settled, you'll end up miserable if you date them. God bless that sensible lady wherever she is.

When you place your life in your own hands, that's when this seems to make sense.

Consequently, Prof. Wole Soyinka remain a legend with or without Obidents validation. Prof. Wole Soyinka is a Winner of the 1986 edition of the Nobel Prize in Literature. He was the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature and the only Nigerian to do so, till date. He’s the most decorated Writer in our History. Vicious Obidents are too uncultured to know he’s one of the founding father of Democracy in Nigeria. These are the deluxe apogee Obidents want to rubbish because Prof. Wole Soyinka refuse to be part of their political shenanigans. History will never forget!!!

There's always a generation that will perish so that the next generation will have the Fear of God and have sense, walk in Righteousness and enjoy Prosperity.

This generation of disobedient and rebellious 'obidients" certainly cant escape the curse they have brought on themselves.

Yet there's hope for the few that will find Grace and Mercy with our Loving heavenly Father.

What was that one thing that happened in your relationship that made you realize it was time to Break up and Move on? smiley

Share your experience(s) nairalanders smiley kiss

I was listing the various reasons I have ended relationships with different girls/ladies in my life, I had to clear the screen. O por. Lol
Life outside Christ truly is crises.
And obedience is better than sacrifice.

All I can only say is Thank God for Jesus and Easter (Victory on the Cross). Other wise I don't deserve forgiveness.

The simple advice I'll give the ladies is from the senior veteran himself, King Solomon.

Song.8.4 - I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases.

And for the men dem (actually both ladies and gentlemen);

1Cor.6.16-17 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two," He says, "shall become one flesh."
But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

1Cor.6.18 - Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

1 Cor.6. 19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

In conclusion;

1Cor.7.8-9 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;
but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

Religion / Re: Justification By Faith Vs Works! by pressplay411(m): 6:20am On Apr 09, 2023
ichuka:
Romans4 says that Abraham was justified by faith, and James2 says He was justified by works. How do we explain these two kinds of justification?

It would seem Paul and James and in fact Scripture contradicts itself in this 2 books.
But I assure you they don't.

I also struggled with reconciling this too. I even backlidded before I came to understand it.

I pray the Holy Spirit unveils and gives us understanding in Jesus name.

The point Paul was making is simple, our justification is by Faith alone apart from our works.

We are already justified by our Faith.

But this is where James was addressing and which further study of the Epistles of Paul including the same Romans also corroborates-
Now that we are justified by Faith alone, what next?
What is the evidence of our justification by Faith?

It is the works that confirms/justifies that our Faith is true and genuine.

An illustration would be Abraham believed God (had Faith in God) and it was imputed to him as righteousness. He was justified by his faith alone without any works. God simply promised him and he believed. He did not have to offer any sacrifice to justify his Faith then.

But later when God had given him Isaac the Promise, God commanded him to sacrifice Isaac and He obeyed.
His Obedience to genuinely agree to sacrifice His Promised Child here being the work that justified his Faith.

In conclusion, You can have Faith absent Works.
But it is the Works that confirms the genuineness of your Faith.

Which is why James continued by illustrating that even Demons have Faith. They believe God and know how powerful God is.
But clearly works of demons are not works of righteousness.

So what type of Faith do you have? It is made evident and revealed by the Works it produces.
And as James submitted, Faith alone, without works, is truly dead.
This is why Jesus Christ cursed the Fig Tree. But that's another discussion.

Grace, Faith and Love multiplied to us all in Jesus name. Amen.

Why I love God is that he always make Yoruba triumph, we have bested the Ibos in all strata of achievement if we go head to head.

Below is Prof. Wole Soyinka telling the world how embarrassed he was on the kind of envy and hatred Achebe showed when he won the Nobel Laureate.

Soyinka is more of just a writer, he is an icon. A million Achebe can not measure up to him.

Bolded.
There is no Igbo versus Yoruba game.
Yorubas committed to Peter Obi may be more than Igbos.

Without Yoruba, Peter Obi would not win Lagos State.

Even some Yoruba have sworn to go on exile if Tinubu is made president of Nigeria. I don't think any Igbo has made that sworn declaration.

I dislike Crooks who come out to divide Yoruba and Igbo in order for the southern region be ruled and exploited by lovers of Oligarchic rule for Nigeria who are using old and mentally handicapped Tinubu as front to renew the tenure of Buhari cabal in Aso Rock.

I would normally ask your tribe to know your disposition, but at this juncture I'm not even interested.

The bolded is the lie that your lot always peddles to assuage only to further infiltrate us.
Just as you are beginning to woo the unsuspecting Edos now because you "don cast" with Yorubas.

Sore losers, that's the badge she and others like her have hung around the necks of the ibos. Move on. It ain't too hard. wink

She's just the proverbial guinea pig.
She's the recipient of the unwinding ricochet of the exhausted patience of the APC camp towards all the tribal slurs of Obidients against Tinubu and Yorubas.

When your cup is full, even a drop can cause a tip over.

Igbos forget that Yorubas are just honorable, respectful and patient. We are too blessed as a race/tribe/nation/people.

We are accommodating and wise. A gift and a curse the Igbos have now certainly exploited to their own peril.

When the rest of Nigeria rejected the freshly defeated and demoralised Igbos, it was still us Yorubas that extended open arms to re-integrate them into the system. Hoping Good and Love will repair things.
But if God could not change the Devil, we have tried our bit.

They have chosen to repay our good with evil.
They have chosen to repay our hospitality with hostility and even encroach our lands.
They have desecrated everything we stand for, and for what?

Simply because Awolowo advised Gen Yakubu Gowon and Ojukwu lost the Biafran war?
A war that brewed out of their signature disloyalty and duplicity?

Check every where online and in any igbo dominated gathering, they are just too tribalistic against every other tribe esp Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani.

It's normal to esteem your tribe but to hate others is devilish.

Once again, only if they humble themselves will they escape the impending judgment coming on them.
And it's God himself that is orchestrating their judgment.

For God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

The earlier Igbos realise their Pride is their problem, the earlier their suffering can end.

Cos truly every human is created loving, good, humble and accommodating until iniquity is found in him then like Satan their pride comes before fall.

Do you know how petrified Peter Obi and his followers are presently?

Are you even in Nigeria to begin with?
Are you in Lagos?
Are you at least following the news?
Are you following their shallowness of the case LP has against APC and how it has been shattered?

Do you already see the dissension in LP camp?
Do you see the lack of peace of mind of the demographic that make up his followers?

If anyone is scared and rightly so, it is Peter Obi, his sponsors and his followers.

Even though I'm not a supporter of APC due to its failure, I recognise and understand the sovereignty of authority, and they are presently in authority.

I will only advise such- Know when you've been defeated. And give respect to whom its due.

APC and Jagaban are senior and better politicians than Peter Obi and LP. And government anywhere in the world is a game of politics.
To even assume otherwise only accentuates naivity and juvenility.

PS: I intentionally avoid addressing Peter Obi's followers as Obidients because rather than exhibit fruits of Obedience, they only exhibit fruits of disobedience and rebellion. So they should be more apt addressed as Disobidients or Rebels.

Illiterate I disagree but bigot I agree.
It is evident just as you have righty submitted that there's mutual exclusivity between intelligence and wisdom.

At this juncture I think igbos need to ask themselves in sincerity and humility, individually and corporately some self/tribe evaluating questions.

1. How did we get here?
2. Why are we here?
3. Are we making progress or retrogressing?
4. Why are we antagonising or being antagonised by other tribes?
5. Are we right or wrong?
6. Are our Forefathers right or wrong?
7. Where can we seek help from?
8. What can we do to get things right?

A genuine answer to this will deliver them from their seemingly imminent self-destruction.

I pity the woke and liberal forming yorubas joining these unculutured, mannerless, immoral set of headless mob without home training to bring down Yoruba heroes. Headless mob that have no repect for anyone, not their king, or their leaders.. Not even their parents; that they wake up every morning with kick.

I pity the Yoruba parent who are allowing people from 'other places' to alter, deceive, mislead their children into bringing down the Yoruba leaders.

I pity the yoruba youth; because of internet validation, likes, shares, clout, followership are conniving with 'others' to malign, insults, cancel our elders one after the others. I see some of them on twitter even supporting the motion that says Soyinka cant lace Chinua Achebe's shoes. Very funny.

I pity for the future of the southwest. We are not grooming people like MKO, Awolowo, Tinubu, Soyinka, Fela and the other symbol of Leadership anymore. Instead we are growing weaklings, soft headed, feeble hearted kids like falz, like macaroni and a whole bunch of others with the mentality of 'I am yoruba but i dont think in yoruba' .. who are conniving with 'outsiders' to desecrate our heritage and culture; Which sprang up the philosophy and cultural concept 'Omoluabi' and 'Karo ojire' ..

It is respect, it is honour, it is our pride. It is why we are yorubas, it is why we are always ahead of all of them. It is what make us different. Unique. Distinctive.

I wish these little kids can understand. I wish it wont be too late before they do.

booksbo0k:
Sorry for the long write up my people, I need advice.

My first son has been behaving somehow in our family, as if he's not part of this family...
You and this boy can be in the same house but you might not set your eyes on him once for a whole day. He will be inside his room through out...
Nairalanders please I need your advice.

I sincerely empathise with your son.
Your husband has not evolved/adjusted into the dynamics of fatherhood in this generation.

1. He is attempting to impose his idea and ideals of career success on his children.
This worked some generations ago, but not so effective in this generation.

2. He seems stubborn and unyielding.
There's a thin line between being a strong/firm father and a stubborn father.
Only God can help him disambiguation the two.

3. Who is your husband accountable to?
He needs deep talk with his father-figure or pastor.

4. Your husband is doing this all this out of Love- albeit tainted with hubris/pride.
Fatherhood/Parenthood is not simply financial provision but all encompassing.

5. I strongly hope you're a praying mother.
You have to cry to God over your family.
Christ has to become the Head of your home.
Renew and rekindle your secret place and your fellowship with other mothers.

6. I perceive it's the thought of you and probably his goals that's keeping your son from committing suicide. Cos the enemy has done everything to isolate him. All that's left is to dim his hope of any future.
You need to personally engage him in a mother to son talk. Pray before you do.
Reassure him of how much you love him and you can never give up on him.
Leave the dad our of the conversation as much as you can.

7. He's your first fruit. First born are usually the first point of attack among the children. So He also has to devote himself to God. Not necessarily as a pastor but he should have a close relationship with God and be a church worker even if it's as a cleaner or usher, etc.

The Lord has done it already. Christ already finished the works, you just have to seek your help in Him.
Please, do not seek help from any abominations before God.
He does not share his glory with idols.

Be of good cheer, your home will be restored.

They all need God's mercy 🙏🙏🙏

I pray we all learn to truly fear God after this.
Because this is only the physical manifestation of the spiritual instant judgment that people are facing daily when they curse God.

Just as a Christian is alive spiritually but still looks physically the same.
There are so many spiritual dead corpses, only physically alive.

I pray that as many as find favor in God's sight truly find salvation and live in the fear of God.

I had to go through spiritual hell on earth to know that I'm dead without Christ.
Peace was gone, joy was a distant memory, hope was lost and I was just failing backwards.
And instead of repentjng my pride didn't want to let me admit that I needed salvation.
So I truly understand when anyone rejects the gospel, there's demons tormenting them and those demons have gain control of their will and spirit.

All everyone really needs is God's mercy and someone to pray for them.

Politics / Open Letter To The Church In Nigeria by pressplay411(m): 2:10am On Mar 21, 2023
What an interesting time to be alive!

I observed with keen interest, yet a reasonable linear distance as from a panoramic view, the unfurling of the just concluded election.

First, I celebrate everyone who participated and played their roles in the electoral process- the electorates, the commission (INEC) and the emergent elects at the cadres of the leadership of Nigeria for 2023-2027 administration.

I celebrate us all because we played our roles, and exercised our civic rights and responsibilities.

Some of us campaigned online but did not vote.
Some of us did not campaign at all but voted.
Some of us campaigned online and ffline and also voted.
Some of us were constrained from voting.
Some of us were were uninterested due to incapacity or accumulated disappointments in the electoral process.

Every thing played out just as it was meant to be.
The results have finally been released and the winners declared.
I admonish and encourage us to ask ourselves these important and reflective questions;

1. What did this whole election teach you?
2. Did this electoral process reflect the dividends of democracy?
3. Was it about your choice candidate winning? Or that the people's choice wins?
4. Did the result reflect the people's will/choice?
If yes, why?
And if no, why?
5. Did God allow the president and governs win? If yes, why? If no, why?
6. Did BVAS help or made it worse?
7. What changes need to be made?
8. Is this the best election ever, or the worst election ever in Nigeria?
9. Do you still have hope in the Nigeria?
10. Now that the election has come and gone, did you make more enemies or more friends?
11. Will you make peace with those your family, friends, leaders, subordinates, etc even though you disagreed with their choices?
12. What next? Will you Japa or Stay?

One thing that stays with me during this election is that God proved his supremacy.
And that his ways are way too marvelous and beyond us.
Studying this election, you will observe that;

It has announced the unexpected.
It has humbled the proud.
It has elevated the lowly
It has brought to some hope and some despair.

And yes, it is not coincidence that one Scripture kept resounding throughout this election process and it was loud and clear.

"Obedience is better than sacrifice."

1Sam.15.22 - So Samuel said: "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

1Sam.15.23 - For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king."

Let us ask ourselves this, Are we obedient to God?
Or we have focused on the sacrifices? The religious activities, the self-righteousness?
Are we obedient to authorities? Our parents, bosses, leadership, president?
Are we calling on Christ without bearing the fruit and gifts of Christ?
Are we following Christ or following our Pastor's, Prophets and Oursellves?
Are we worshipping the created instead of the Creator?
Are we Worshipping God or Mammon/Love of Money?

It is not coincidence that we experienced cash crunch during this election. It truly exposed us all and revealed the states of our hearts- From the Pastor's to the Workers, to the Ministers and the Politicians (King and rulers) and the citizenry.

I pray as we reflect on these questions, the next couple of days and events will bring us answers that will help us seek passionately to become truly, Obedient.

Finally,
Isa.1.19 - If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;

Isa.1.20 - But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword"; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

2. Jesus Christ Himself warned you not to mix Old Wine with New wine. The Old wine happens to be the Constitution of the Nation of Israel in the Land of Canaan while the New Wine is instead the Constitution in God's Special Nation of Priests aka the Kingdom of God. Jesus Christ came to call His followers to the Kingdom of God. Not to the Nation of Israel. So it is against Him that you attempt to abide by both Laws. undecided

You need to decide whether you will listen to Jesus Christ or continue to pick around in tye dark pretending you do so in His name. undecided

1. The same Paul who said faith comes by hearing also informed you in Romans 2 vs 12 - 16 that Faith does make one right with God. So, be very careful with the interpretation you give that soundbite extracted from the letters of Paul as the writer's message is only made clear when his words are considered in the context they were presented in. undecided

2. Jesus Christ only makes one righteous by the standard that is the Old Law of Moses - Salvation from Death which is resolved with the gifting of Eternal life aka grace. Jesus Christ, however, does not resolve the sin debt which you carry over from the Old Law nor does He grant you righteousness by the standard that is God's New Covenant and Constitution in the Kingdom of God. That you have to work towards obtaining for yourself through continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ — faith - John 8 vs 31 - 44 & Matthew 24 vs 12 - 13 & Matthew 10 vs 22 & Mark 13 vs 13. It is only those who are become Sons of God — set free from slavery to sin that then go on to enjoy the benefits of God's Love for man in Jesus Christ - John 15 vs 9 - 11. undecided

Good day sir,
I believe you have a good knowledge of the synoptic gospels and sincere Faith in them.

The Goal of Faith truly is to make us Obedient to God's commands. Which is why Jesus Christ humbled Himself in Obedience. Philippians 2:8

But you cannot restrict yourself to the synoptic gospels alone.
That is similar to the Jews who limited themselves to the Old testament and rejected the new testament and till day still waiting for the Christ.

You have to go beyond the synoptic gospel.
Jesus Christ (Wisdom of God) is the whole Gospel.

1.Old Testament
2. New Testament (Synoptic gospels, Acts, Epistles of the Apostles and Revelation).

And the Spirit of Christ (Holy Spirit) is the only One who can give Understanding (Revelation).

That, is the Mystery of knowing God, the Father.

Prov.4.7 - Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Let me interprete this.
Wisdom is the Principal thing, therefore Get Wisdom.
-means Believe and have Faith in Jesus Christ through prayer and studying the Word of God.

And in all your getting, get understanding.
-means be passionate about receiving the Holyspirit and being led by Him.

Please, God sees your heart.
He knows why you're seeking Him.

He knows our intentions.
Only when the intention is right will he trust you and commit himself to you. John 2:24-25
Some of our intentions seem right to us, but He knows when it is truly right.

Pray to Him to search your heart.
Pray to Him to make your heart right with Him.
Ask for Forgiveness and Mercy.
Pray to Him that you want to know Him- The Way, the Truth and the Life.
Be Patient. He has already answered you from the moment you ask whenever we pray according to His will.

It's His Will that we all come into Eternal Life.

John.17.3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Rom.11.36 - For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Yes happily single ... and I might stay this way forever since it gives me peace.
Yeah if i see a lady that meets my requirements or almost since nobody is perfect then I can consider getting married ... that's when I'm ready sha 😎

Apostle Paul stylishly advice men and women to be single if they can withstand the urges tho 😉 being single gives you focus

It's actually the best. As you will be fully sold out to God.
But it's according to the grace you're given, not by flesh.
Grace multiplied to you.

Absolutely no one who has in fact submitted to Jesus Christ would attempt to use His name to sell lies, to begin with. undecided

If you truly believe in Jesus Christ, the Word of God, you won't call His teachings and counsel lies.

God have mercy on you.
I would have shared a verse with you to unveil you, but your heart is not right. And the verse will only further be destructive to you.

I will pray for you.

Stop hiding your worldly delusions behind the name of God abeg! undecided

The same Jesus Christ informed you by way of His Gospel that your marriages have absolutely nothing to do with the Kingdom of God - Luke 20 vs 34 - 36 - affirming God's decree and curse placed on marriage since right after the fall of man in Genesis 3 vs 16. What Jesus Christ instead said is of the Kingdom of God is the permission given to those who chose to live as Eunuchs for the sake of His Kingdom - Matthew 19 vs 11 - 12. So rather than those who chose marriage, it is instead those who choose to remain singles as Eunuchs that that have blessing of God's Kingdom.. undecided

This is strictly for believers who have submitted to Jesus Christ, the Word of God, not just Jesus Christ the synoptic gospels.
Thanks.

Been single since October 2021 .. apart from the occasional loneliness I'm GOOD
Happily Single, I hope.
Truth is, the Bible says, it is not good for man to be alone.
Hence be Happily Single but have the consciousness and desire to be Happily Married too.
