DrChukki: Seriously, the way Marriages are going these days, am beginning to consider having a baby mama and let my peace be with me.
Everyday is one marriage issue or the other.
Nawaoh for this our generation.
Audio Marriage generation. I believe there are 3 major factors involved. -Marriage due to peer and family pressure. Eventually you feel suffocated and shit happens. -Economic challenges, making spouses seek financial assistance from elsewhere. -Social media age. When married ladies get some care and attention in their DMs, you've created a portal for all sorts. Generally our morals have hit an all time low as a generation. We go to churches and mosques claiming to be spiritual but a lot of us are morally bankrupt. And the fact that the news has exposed is like never before to others doing crazy stuff doesn't help matters as it makes it seem normal. |

THE LAST AMMUNITION IN THE HYPOCRITE'S ARSENAL IS TO ACCUSE OTHERS OF WHAT THEY ARE, THEMSELVES! Communication is an art and a science. You need to learn that. There's a skill to it. It's pointless when you have important points but you lose the interest of your interlocutor (audience). Try to keep your answers pithy and terse. The internet is too vast to expect people to spend time on one comment. |

frosbel2: Thank You...... While it would seem you're right. I believe the core focus of Jesus is the Kingdom of Heaven. And that really can't be observed physicaly but spiritually. Physically and sensually it always seems like Jesus lost. For example when he died, even the disciples thought it was a defeat. They never knew it was a spiritual victory even though Jesus prophesied it beforehand. It wasn't until the journey to Emmaus before they understood it. Homeshly, Jesus saves but I believe the church has overplayed it making believers lazy and most pastors are simply taking advantage of believers that don't study the bible. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Jesus Cannot Save or Heal You by pressplay411(m): 8:00pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
frosbel2: I would like to state a few reasons why I think Jesus cannot save you. These reasons are based on hard facts , experience and what I see happening in Nigeria on a daily basis.
Jesus cannot defeat Boko Haram Despite pastors cursing Boko Haram on a daily basis, and despite all the prayers to Jesus, Boko Haram is still a pain in our back side.
Jesus cannot bring you peace Despite the promise of peace, many Christians suffer from stress, high blood pressure and anxiety. Sorry, Jesus cannot bring you peace. If you want peace, live within your means, live a contented life, avoid a quarrelsome existence and, operate by the well known mantra - live and let live.
Jesus cannot heal the sick Our hospitals are overwhelmed with the sick despite the large population of born again believers. Even though healing is prominently promised in the bible, the sick are not getting healed by Jesus, they are getting healed by medicine and doctors.
Jesus cannot make you rich 95% of people who pay tithes are broke, despite the bible promising a bountiful harverst. Jesus is not a money multiplier, he cannot make you rich. You gotta work hard bro and sis.
Jesus cannot bring overwhelming righteousness to Nigeria The bible says that when the light shines , the darkness is driven out. In Nigeria it appears that the darkness is driving out the light despite the millions and millions of born again believers. It's either 99% of the believers in Nigeria are fake or Jesus is fake. Irrespective, Jesus followers and their master are not increasing righteousness in Nigeria.
Jesus cannot make you overcome sin Oh please dont make me laugh. Christians in Nigeria are unable to overcome sin , thats for sure. They lie, cheat, steal, fornicate, bribe, receive bribes, bear false witness, sleep with the wives/husbands of other people, hate anyone who is not part of their church talk less of Christianity as a whole and humanity in general.......
Jesus cannot make the blind see or deaf hear No need for examples here, even Christians know this is true; and yet Jesus told his followers that they will make the blind see and deaf hear. Another lie ??
Jesus cannot raise the dead As a former Christian in some of the staunchest cultic sects, I have never seen a dead body raised from the dead. Its either Jesus lied, or Christians are doing it wrong.
Jesus cannot drive out demons So many mad people and mentally challenged individuals in Nigeria and Christians are unable to cast out their demons and restore them to sanity.
Jesus is not coming back His disciples expected him to come back in their life time to no avail. Its now over 2000 years and Jesus is still not here. Oh please, stop deceiving yourselves, he aint coming back. Salient points but... |

DAVE5: I learnt one very important thing from your message which is
Even apostle Paul's teaching were berries before they accepted them
Very salient point
These days; one man stands on a pulpit, says anything he likes and the congregation accept like he's all knowing cos he's a pastor
I think there's a Bible verse that says something like we should test spirit that manifest so we are sure its actually of God, can't remember exactly how it was written though but it's interpretation is something like I wrote Yes. The Bereans Acts 17:10-11 And as you pointed out, we are warned to test spirits to avoid following false doctrines. John 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. |

He's been working against God ever since, especially by undermining God's greatest creation, Man. |

iammo: if you had studied your own bible you wouldn't had needed an o.p or a pastor to just inform you of information you carry around in your own bible May be if you stayed within context, your points will be well received. True, the problem of most believers is lack of personal time with God, His Word and a relationship with the Holy spirit rather than just swallowing hook line and sinker every thing their pastors preach to them, even when it has been tainted with the pastor's personal motives. The Bereans are a typical example in the scriptures. Even the Apostle Paul's teachings were verified before they accepted them. I was just wondering what you were driving at. |

Black men don't read and that's the problem.. without any doubt I can say 80% of Nigerian Christian haven't completely read the whole 1200 pages of the bible and reflected on what they read, they simply read few verses and get explanation whichever pastor gives them.. Nigerian Christianity is about what thy pastor said and not what thy bible said
. And how does that relate to this thread? OP showed us scriptural reference to speaking in tongues and it's significance to the believer and the church. |

IntroVAT: So, in church during the prayer session, and after the prayer topic has been introduced, I find I can't pray for more than 30 seconds, 1 minute tops.
After that, I have nothing else to say. Yet I see others praying until whoever is leading the session intervenes and introduces another prayer topic.
What exactly are they saying for that long or are they just repeating themselves. I can't speak in tongues too, so that doesn't help my cause.
I also cannot pray loudly, I always whisper under my breath even when the pastor says to shout at the top of our voices, because that's just how I am.
Do these things I mentioned n hinder prayers from being answered?
Help It helps to learn some scruptural prayers; The Lord's Prayer and Psalms will help you ignite your prayer life. And when you pray, know that God answers our prayers, especially when we pray in His will. 1 John 5:14-15 Also, pray for others too including your family, friends, work, the church and Nigeria. |

The dreadful part where ALL BUTTERFLIES HAVE EITHER DIED OR FLOWN AWAY and HORNnINESS is now a memory AND THE PRESENCE of your spouse feels like a burden cos singleness become so so attractive again like a LIFE GOAL, yet you have to just KEEP FAKING IT AND DOING EVERYTHING when you know it is no longer how it felt like in the beginning.
its Haaaarrrd The problem is usually our definition and interpretation of the bolded, LOVE. Love is best described by 3 words- Responsibility, Tolerance and Sacrifice. When the butterflies fly away and the sex slowly fades to black; And the eyes open to see the "real" person you married and the issues that come along with. That is when you know if you truly love your spouse. Love is not what you expect to get only but especially how much of you that you can give your spouse. |

The ground that Iran will islamize the world is lame, Saudi Arabia is more dangerous than Iran, yet they are America's greatest ally, if in 2020 you still judge international politics from the viewpoint of religion, then I have nothing to say. You may not view international politics from religious perspective thinking it's all about economics but these countries still do. Efewestern: * Funding militias who are threats to US allies in the region, e.g Hezbollah in Lebanon is a huge threat to Israel, Houthis in Yemen is a threat to Saudi Arabia, while these groups are being tagged terrorists by US, they aren't your normal terrorists like Boko or ISIS, they exist for the sole purpose of defending their land, they don't go about killing innocent women and children, they only attack military formation.
* Iran's continuous support of Assad in Syria.
* Iran's missile and nuclear programme, the nuclear programme is still being debated, while everyone thinks Iran isn't going nuclear, US thinks otherwise. Iran has said their won't give up on their nuclear programs, no sane nation gives up their defense, if not for their missile technology, US would have bombarded Iran to the ground.
* Regime change. One man's terrorist they say is another man's freedom fighter. If you see Iran as fighting to keep their land and not trying to islamize the world, then you won't see them as terrorists. In fact, you'll see US as the terrorists. |
