Nollywood Actress,Esther Nwachukwu is Dead Nshared a few hours ago on her Instagram story, but it was later removed. In the post, it was requested that readers pray for both her soul and her mother, who is ill right now. The actress allegedly swallowed poison, which caused her to pass away. The actress's death was confirmed via a chat with her cousin, ifeoma Nwachukwu, who had access to the deceased user's Instagram account, which was uploaded by an Instagram blog. Ifeoma was asked in the chat if the death of Nwachukwu was merely her trying to gain attention. She replies that she cannot make light of death and that the actress's passing was brought on by the poison she swallowed. Nwachukwu's Instagram page showed that the last time she checked her social media was on August 20. Nwachukwu was well known for her contentious way of life. Twitter, a social media company, has at long last made its eagerly anticipated Edit Tweet tool available. On Thursday, August 1, 2022, the business announced that it is testing the long-awaited edit button and some users may start seeing modified tweets in their stream. Twitter claims that the function is presently undergoing "internal testing." The "Edit Tweet" pilot will start with internal staff members before being opened up to users who have "Twitter Blue" subscriptions, according to the business. The business wrote on its site, "Edit Tweet is a tool that lets consumers make adjustments to their Tweet after it's been published. "Think of it as a brief window of time to add missing tags, fix typos, and other things." Users could make "a few" edits to a tweet under the revision under study within 30 minutes of the tweet's initial posting, the company said. This would "help protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said." The fundamentals of utilising Twitter have been the same since it was introduced in 2006: You composed a tweet, you tweeted it, and then you dealt with the consequences. They weren't take back Because of this, the edit button is maybe the biggest change to the social media platform since Twitter raised the character limit for messages from 140 to 280 in 2017. Twitter became a hub for online fights and hot takes because of its adherence to first draughts. But after sending a Twitter, users frequently regret the words they chose or discover a spelling error. As Twitter expanded from a specialised service to a world-wide platform, more users started requesting an editing feature for their postings. They grumbled. They pleaded. They were furious. Some people made errors in their tweets and asked for an edit button to fix them. Even Elon Musk, the multibillionaire who is debating whether to uphold a $44 billion agreement to acquire Twitter, appears to be in support of an edit button. Musk tweeted in 2012, "I meant lämpe. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) National Executive Council (NEC) will make its decision on whether or not to extend the union's nearly six-month strike on Sunday night or Monday morning. Remember that the current ASUU strike began on February 14 and was extended three weeks ago for an additional four weeks. It will now end on Monday, August 29, 2022. Release of funding for university revitalization, revision of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, payment of earned allowances for university lecturers, and implementation of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution are all demands made by the union (UTAS). Following a meeting with the union last week, Adamu Adamu, the minister of education, declared that all of the union's demands had been met with the exception of the fact that its members would not be receiving arrears from the strike period. Additionally, the union has emphasised that the strike won't end until the outstanding debt is paid. The 123 branches of the organisation have already finished holding their congresses. According to reports, the congresses voted to extend the strike should the federal government persevere on withholding payment for arrears. The NEC meeting, which is scheduled for today or tomorrow morning, is expected to be pivotal. It could decide whether the government suspends the union, as is rumoured in some circles. It was learned that parents and students are keenly interested in the resolution of the lecturers' strike. On social media where many have aired their opinions, they appealed to the university teachers to give peace a chance, resume dialogue with the Federal Government, and return to classrooms. However, a final decision on whether to call off the strike or extend it will be reached at the NEC Meeting According to Vanguard, a member of NEC, who is also a Zonal Chairman of the union, stated that the members are ready for whatever steps the government takes on the issue. “We are no strangers to government threatening to ban our union. It happened a number of times during the military period and we outlived those regimes. We are fighting a just cause. If the education sector in the country becomes better, we will all benefit. The people in government are not bothered with what happens to the sector because their children are not schooling here. “I would not say this is what our decision will be because we have to collate opinions from our various branches that conducted congresses some days ago and whatever the majority says will be done. If the majority opinion goes for a continuation of the strike and the government takes any step, we will react appropriately, “ he said. Should the union go for a strike extension after the meeting, it may leave it as the only union in the university system that is still on strike. Others, namely the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Allied Institutions, NASU, and the National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT, have suspended their actions for a few months to allow the Federal Government look into their demands. Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has begged ASUU to consider whatever offers government presents in the interest of students. NANs National President, Sunday Asefon, said it would not support the union if it continues the industrial action. “Let them have pity on students that have been at home for months. If the strike is not called off, we won’t support the union in this fight again. Let them make concessions and live to fight another day,” he said. Insecurity: Over 1000 Nigerian police protest non-payment of 16 months salaries in Kwara No fewer than 1,056 youths recruited as Constabularies into the Nigeria Police Force to complement the police in maintaining Security in Kwara state have staged a protest in Ilorin over the non-payment of 16 months’ salary owed them by the state government. According to Vanguard report, the Special Constables staged protest on Saturday, August 20, 2022, in strategic areas of, the state capital including Challenge, Post Office and Ahmadu Bello way to the state government House echoing “Kwara state government, pay us our salaries for 16 months. Some of the protesters rode on motorcycles carrying three passengers each while others who dressed in black Police Uniform covered their bodies with leaves as they marched along the streets. The Constables complained that they have not been paid any salary by the state government since the completion of their training in April 2021. The state police command however reacted that neither the state command nor the government made a financial commitment to be paying the Constabularies monthly salaries like the regular police officers before during and after their trainings. But the state Commissioner for Communication, Mr Olabode Towoju said that the Police Constables were to be taken care of by the local governments in the state. He said, “the Constabularies are not directly been paid by the state government. They are being taken care of by the local governments which have been paying them their stipends.” Towoju explained that the government recruited some young men last year to beef up security as a result of the present security challenges and to reduce the unemployment rate in the state. Spokesman of Kwara State police command, Ajayi Okasanmi in a press statement on the development said,” Kwara State Police Command wishes to dissociate herself from a video already spiraling on Facebook, regarding a protest by some purported policemen over non-payment of one year salary.” The statement stated that,”For purposes of clarification, the characters seen in the video are police special constabularies recruited to complement the operation of community policing. ” It is important to state that the concept of community policing and recruitment of special constabularies is voluntary in nature, meaning they are not on monthly renumeration like the conventional policemen. This much the constabularies were briefed before taken up the job, besides, the job is not full time job. It added that,”Due to the complaints of the constabularies regarding non payment of stipends by the state government, the constabularies were invited for a meeting by the state government on ways by which their complains could be looked into, hence their invite to the government house today. “It was surprising that the same set of constabularies after the meeting with agents of the state government could go online with a video claiming that the government was owing them salaries for a year. The commissioner of police Kwara State, CP Tuesday Assayomo psc (+) wishes to state categorically, that the police is not owing any policeman or woman any salary, neither is the police owing the special constabularies salary. Therefore, members of the public are advised to disregard the viral video as it was designed to embarrass the police and also to draw an undue sympathy from the public. “The men and women of the special constabulary are at liberty to honorably disengage from the service if they so wish.”The statement concluded. Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk 2: Usyk beats AJ by split decision in Saudi rematch Anthony Joshua has lost his heavyweight world title rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia. The Brit was much improved from their first encounter as he once again took the unbeaten Ukrainian the distance. But Usyk’s ring craft just proved too much for Joshua as he clinched victory for the second time on points – taking a split decision. Anthony Joshua is out for revenge as he seeks to become a three-time heavyweight world champion in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia when he takes on Oleksandr Usyk in their highly-anticipated rematch - billed as 'Rage on the Red Sea'. AJ, who is determined to win back his IBF, WBA and WBO straps, will have to switch things up drastically from last September if he is to reign supreme after he was totally outclassed by the slick southpaw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. There have been plenty of changes in the Brit's corner with legendary trainer Robert Garcia drafted in to replace Rob McCracken following last year's unconvincing setback. There is hope the 47-year-old's experience can help Joshua secure the victory he so badly desires. Usyk was largely expected to weigh in significantly heavier than the first fight (221.25lb) before seemingly duping Joshua when he tipped the scales to 221.6lb on Friday - the challenger has bulked up 4.5lb to 244.5lb. None of that matters to Joshua though as he looks to inflict the first defeat of the former undisputed cruiserweight champion's career. "I'll be honest, all of this stuff doesn't matter, it's just about the fight. Real talk," Joshua said SOURCE https:///anthony-joshua-vs-oleksandr-usyk-2-usyk-beats-aj-by-split-decision-in-saudi-rematch/

According to reports, the incident which happened on Thursday, August 18, 2022, also left many worshipers that attended the event injured. It was said that a 45-year-old woman and her 5-year-old daughter were among the eight people that died. The bodies of the yet-to-be-identified woman, her daughter and others were deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary. A source said the pastor of the church was arrested but later granted bail on self-recognition after his statement had been obtained by the police at Ikotun. The police said the church, is located at number 13/15 Ewenla Street, Pab Bus Stop, Ikotun and that the incident happened during its monthly crusade. Residents said the church usually attracted a massive crowd of worshippers in the service hosted by Pastor Odekunle also known as Olorun Ojiji. It was learnt that trouble started after the crowd, waiting for the second service, struggled to enter the venue immediately after the first service without allowing the first set of worshippers to exit the place. This, they said, led to the stampede. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident. “The victims include a woman of about 45-year-old and a 5-year-old girl, both name and address yet unknown. They gave up the ghosts. The scene has been visited by the police while the corpses have been deposited at Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, for preservation. Investigation is in progress and further development will be communicated,” he added. The incident is coming about three months after 31 people were killed in a stampede at the venue of an outreach programme put together by a church in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. It was gathered that the church invited members of the public to come and receive gift items and free food for its fourth anniversary. This made the venue of the programme to be outstretched by people and subsequently led to the stampede which saw 31 people killed. SOURCE https:///8-dead-many-injured-in-lagos-church-stampede/

UNIVERSITY to remain closed as ASUU NEC rules out suspension of strike The Academic Staff Union of Universities' (ASUU) strike will go on as planned because the union's National Executive Council, or NEC, did not discuss the possibility of postponing the strike at its meeting, which ended early on Monday in Abuja. Vanguard's investigations revealed that the union's national leadership limited its briefing to discussing their interactions with and submissions to the Prof. Nimi Briggs Committee, which was established by the federal government to renegotiate the 2009 Agreement with the union. According to a source, the NLC's intervention in the situation and the subsequent statewide solidarity marches staged by the Congress and its affiliates last week were also discussed by the leadership at the meeting. The NEC did not need to discuss postponing the strike because there is no indication that the administration is seriously committed. Can anyone confirm that this is the government's offer? The Briggs Committee was established by them, and after it issued recommendations, the administration ignored the document. "The government's sincerity is lacking. Let's imagine that the government makes an offer and we decide whether or not to take it because we are asking for too much, which isn't really the case. They intend to destroy the university system, just like they did with public elementary and secondary institutions, we have been saying. How many Nigerians today are proud to enrol their kids in the same public elementary and secondary institutions that we all attended back then? The union's national leadership will shortly announce our choices, the source stated. Remember that the union has been on strike since February 14 of this year, following which other unions representing non-teaching personnel started their own strikes. Solidarity demonstrations were conducted last Tuesday and Wednesday in Abuja and other states to urge the government to give in to the union's demands and to reopen the universities right once. Former senator Ademola Adeleke is one person who has helped to reduce the tension that people feel is present in the political realm. The nickname "dancing senator" was given to Senator Ademola Adeleke because of his penchant for dancing in public, especially after victories or just for fun. Up until June 2019, he served as a senator for the Osun-west senatorial constituency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Ademola Adeleke Biography Davido, a well-known musician from Nigeria, has an uncle named Ademola Adeleke. His parents were Nnena Esther Adeleke, an ardent Igbo Christian, and Late Chief Raji Ayoola Adeleke, a Muslim. It seems as though politics is in the Adelekes' blood since his late father, Raji Ayoola Adeleke, was a politician, a senator in the second republic, and the founder of the now-defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN). In addition, when he was alive, Ademola Adeleke's father served as the Balogun of Ede land in Osun State. After the death of his brother Isiaka Adeleke, the senator representing the Osun-West seat, in April 2017, Ademola Adeleke became more well-known in politics. Ademola Adeleke made the decision to soon after Isiaka Adeleke's passing. Ademola Adeleke Education Prior to moving to Old Oyo State and enrolling in Nawarudeen Primary School, Ikire, Ademola Adeleke attended Methodist Primary School in Surulere, Lagos. He attended Ede's Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School for his secondary schooling before transferring to Ede Muslim Grammar School to finish his secondary education. In Nigeria, Ademola Adeleke didn't finish his studies. He went to the United States of America for his post-secondary study together with two of his older brothers. He studied Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science at Jacksonville State University in Alabama, in the United States. Ademola Adeleke is said to have returned to Atlanta Metropolitan State College after allegations of fabricated academic credentials, where he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2021. Ademola Adeleke Career Before entering politics, Ademola Adeleke had a successful career in business. He served as a service contractor for the Quicksilver Courier Company in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1985 and 1989. From 1990 until 1994, he served as vice president of Origin International LLC, an Atlanta, Georgia, US-based manufacturer of flavours and fragrances. After some time, Ademola Adeleke joined Pacific Holdings Limited, his brother's business, where he served as the organization's Executive Director from 2001 to 2016. Ademola Adeleke Political Career In 2001, Ademola Adeleke started her political career. Prior to the passing of his brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, in April 2017, he had little political recognition. Before defecting to the People's Democratic party in April 2017 to fight for the Senate seat that his brother left up, he was a member of the All Progressive Party (APC). Ademola Adeleke, as luck would have it, won the election and held the office of senator for the Osun-West constituency until June 2019. Ademola was announced as the PDP's candidate for governor of Osun State on July 23, 2018. Davido also congratulated his uncle for being chosen as a governorship candidate after winning the primary on his Instagram page. The Independent Electoral Commission declared the outcome of the governorship election, which was held on September 22, 2018, inconclusive. Candidates included Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola of the APC and Iyiola Omisore of the SDP (INEC). In a second round of voting that took place on September 27, 2018, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola of the APC was declared the victor. Ademola Adeleke vigorously opposed the outcome, calling it a "coup" and fraudulent. Sadly, the Supreme Court reviewed the election in a ruling in July 2019; Read more https:///ademola-adeleke-net-worth-cars-houses-and-latest-biography/
