According to Kuda Microfinance Bank, it would start adding N50 to any deposits made into clients' Kuda accounts that total N10,000 or more.

The bank informed its clients by mail that this was in accordance with the Federal Government's stamp duty laws.

The bank claims that the change would apply to cash deposits made at any of its partner banks as well as deposits made via debit cards, electronic transfers, and in-person cash deposits.

In accordance with the federal government's obligation act, the bank wrote in the mail. Every depositor who makes a deposit into your Kuda account for N10,000 or more will be charged a N50 fee as required by law. Beginning on Friday, July 15, 2022, this fee will be imposed on all electronic transfers, debit card deposits, and cash deposits made into your account at any of our partner institutions.

The bank emphasised that it would not profit from the N50 taxes because all money would go directly into the government's coffers.

After evaluating young women in South Africa, the church issues them a Certificate of Virginity.

Female churchgoers in South Africa who are at least 18 years old are subjected to virginity tests.

According to reports, the Nazareth Baptist Church in Durban, South Africa, started this custom to inspire young women there to maintain their virginity.

A white mark is allegedly made on the foreheads of those who pass the test and a "Certificate of Virginity" is allegedly given to them. It is said to be an annual event that occurs in the middle of the year.

ASUU strike: Having concluded negotiations with the FG, ASUU is prepared to end its strike.

If the Federal Government signs the negotiated agreement to invest in university infrastructure and also agrees to pay salaries through the suggested University Transparency and Accountability Solution, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it is prepared to end the nationwide strike immediately (UTAS).

In an interview with Channels TV on Monday night, Union President Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke revealed this.

.”The Union has concluded its negotiations, he continued, and is now essentially awaiting the government's reaction.

What the ASUU President has to say

According to Prof. Osodeke, the Union works to provide the best education possible for Nigerian students. He said, "What we want for Nigerian children, go around and see, and compare them with Ghana or South Africa and compare them, that is our struggle."

In regards to the strike's potential end date, he stated, "As far as ASUU is concerned, the strike can end tomorrow. We have completed the negotiations. Let the government call us this evening, and we should come tomorrow and sign the deal. We will be there."

We will end the strike once the government notifies us that UTAS has been evaluated and approved.

We have completed (with negotiations). We're just waiting and putting the government to the test. When will they accept UTAS and when will they sign the contract? These are the two inquiries we must make to the Nigerian government, he continued

TSO Endorses El-Rufai As Tinubu’s Running Mate

The Tinubu Support Organization has backed Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai for vice president ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) deadline of July 17 for political parties to submit their lists of candidates for the 2023 general elections.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's running mate has been suggested by the Tinubu Support Organization (TSO), Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Tinubu is the presidential candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The choice of running mate is a crucial success factor for Tinubu's victory, according to Director-General of Tinubu Support Organization, Hon. Aminu Suleiman, who spoke to journalists in Kaduna on Monday shortly after leaving a meeting with important party stakeholders in the North-West.

"In our opinion, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is the VP who can best support Asiwaju." He should be chosen as the running partner, according to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State and ourselves.

"El-Rufai has a lot of experience. He has worked hard in every post he has held, including those at the federal and state levels, the speaker claimed.

He asserts that the Organization is working continuously to give Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the presidency of Nigeria, and that the Organization believes Asiwaju's choice of running mate would make or break those prospects.

He claims that the organisation believes that the North-West, Nigeria's most populous voting zone, should provide the APC's vice presidential nominee.

Flood destroys 30 stores in the Anambra market.

Some vendors at the Relief Market in the Anambra county of Ogbaru Local Government Area are tallying their losses after a flood brought on by heavy rains washed away stores, electric poles, and wires from the market.

Mr. David Obidike, the chairman of the market's caretaker committee, revealed this while showing members of his executive team and news reporters through the parts on Saturday.

"A few days ago, the market's chief security officer called and informed me that a terrible flood from the Awada Area had carried the market after entering beneath its Sakamori (drainage) system and uprooting it, wreaking devastation there.

.The flood exhumed and destroyed telephone cables that were buried underground as well as large water borne pipes and roughly ten stores that were washed away with their contents.

"As of right now, the market is in a blackout, and traders are using energy generators because we haven't had a power supply for a month and a half since the rainy season began."

Because our market is located in the renowned Upper Iweka axis, hoodlums can easily enter the market through the damaged areas brought on by the erosion threat, he claimed.

He claimed that having a group of committed security personnel was the traders' only defense against theft.

The scale of the damage was beyond their ability to pay for, so he begged the governor of Anambra, Chukwuma Soludo, and other pertinent authorities for help.
