Will do that after the lockdown.

When I do, how best do use to avoid the sticky issues?
I don't think there's any special method apart from the one you already know.

Always preheat your sandwich toaster before use and don't use spread that contains water.

You can also get cooking spray.... Note: some Bread dont go well with sandwich toaster.

This is the surface. The scars are from the numerous times I've had to battle with removing the sticky bread crust with a knife.
Get a new machine..

please nest time don't use knife. The way it is now is very dangerous for me to advice you on how to use it without sticky.

Some are non stick while some are not
I have used both
The best thing to do is use the paper cos his is non stick
Some stuff are made for a particular purpose..

Are you allergic with the direct heat from the surface? If no, why don't you wanna enjoy the taste of toasting your bread without the use of paper.

BlueRayDick:
Good morning foodies. Please I have a question about making toast bread with a sanwichmaker/toaster.( See below for a picture of toaster model)

I observed each time I try to make a toast bread, a loaf gets stuck to upper part of the toaster and another loaf gets stuck to the upper compartment. This is after I have applied oil to the upper and lower surface all in a bid to avoid that sticking. This has discouraged me from making toast bread for a while now.

This morning I saw a YouTube video where a guy applied butter instead of oil to the surface before toasting the bread. So I decided to try it out and I still ended up with the same result of bread getting stuck to the surface and I had to be using knife to remove it from the surface.

Anybody with a solution to this should please mention me.
Can you take a photo of the surface and upload?
