A notorious gunrunner identified as Rabi’u Akilu, was, on Thursday, arrested by soldiers at the Garoji Army Check point in Bargu general area of New Bussa LGA of Niger state.

Items recovered from him include: 21 fabricated locally made single barrels, 15 fabricated locally made barrels Ghana made, 10 fabricated locally made pistols and 343 Cartridges.

A man received the shock of his life, yesterday, in Iba, Lagos, as he met his house, practically, empty after threatening his wife to pack out of their matrimonial home.
It was gathered that the man, a driver, had accused the wife of infidelity. The wife, however, fired back by saying she only married him just to have children, as her first marriage didn’t produce any.

Meanwhile, while leaving the house, she packed all the things she bought for him, thus, making the man angry and it almost degenerated into a fight.

The police on Friday arraigned eight men in a Magistrates’ Court I sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, for allegedly stealing N77 million belonging to their employer.

The police charged Yusuf Azeez,27; Olaosu Dauda,36; Olufunmi Falade,36; Olatunbosun Ogunseye 38; Samson Onabanjo,35; Abiodun Alonge, 35; Moyindun Green,23 and Busura Habib, 24 with two counts of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp Bukola Abolade told the court that the accused committed the offence between January and August at the Green legacy resort at Oke Mosan in Abeokuta.

Abolade said the defendants and others (at large), who were workers at the resort, conspired and stole N77 million.

The prosecutor, said the offence, contravened the provisions of sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun state 2006.

When the charges were read to them, they pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Titilayo Bello, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of two million Naira each with two sureties in like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must own a developed landed property and must also provide evidence of tax payment to Ogun State government.

She adjourned the case until January 8, for hearing.

The visit of popular dance group, Kupe Boys, to Nigeria has been making rounds lately, from sitting on the floor at airport to getting g-strings thrown at them.

A man 22-year-old Texas man, who was facing up to 99 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, has been saved by a selfie.

According to KVUE, Christopher Precopia was stunned when the police showed up at his place of work in September 2017 to arrest him for burglary with the intent to commit other crimes.

He was taken to Williamstown County Jail and released only after his family posted a $150,000 bond.

Precopia later found out his ex-girlfriend from high school had gone to the cops with a fabricated tale that he broke into her home in Temple and sliced an X into her chest with a box cutter.

She would later admit to Temple police that she reported Precopia because she had a rocky relationship with him several years earlier.

On the night of the alleged attack, Precopia was actually 65 miles away at a hotel in Austin with his mom, Erin Precopia.

Luckily, he decided to take a selfie of himself with his family that evening, which he posted on social media.

“By the grace of God, the accuser said it happened on the day when I can say totally, 100%, where he was at,” Erin Precopia said.

Police finally dropped the charges against him nine months after his arrest, when his lawyer, Rick Flores, took the alibi evidence to Bell County prosecutors.

Comedian Chigul has revealed in a new video on her page, that she is celebrating a milestone for being able to sleep on her bed after two months due to an undisclosed sickness.

According to her, she has been sleeping on the chair for months but for the first time in two months, the comedian said she can finally sleep on her bed, and for this reason, she is celebrating a milestone.

A 16-year-old girl has committed suicide after her father caught her making love to her boyfriend in her father’s bedroom.

The incident is reported to have happened in Kasenge, Kyengera town council in Uganda. Kiraka Mugisha, the father of the deceased, is reported to have returned home one afternoon and found his daughter Kemigisha having sex with her boyfriend on his bed.

Shocked by what he had witnessed, the father reported the case to the Police, accusing his daughter’s boyfriend Kelvin Yunus Kaddu of defilement.
The Police subsequently decided to detain Kaddu who is 18 and released Kemigisha who was described as a minor since she was under age. However, the following day, the girl surprisingly took her own life by hanging herself in her father’s bedroom.

According to a report by the Monitor.co.ug., Mr. Mugisha was left distraught by what he witnessed and shouted to draw the attention of neighbours.
“What Satan has invaded my home? What have I done to God to deserve this? What kind of curse is this? I am finished,” he is quoted as lamenting.

Meanwhile, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, has confirmed the crime, saying investigations into the whole incident had commenced.
He further stated that preliminary medical examinations conducted had earlier proved that Kemigisha was actually defiled.

“Her father said he spent the night at his shop perhaps, he was annoyed by the daughter’s alleged action. He visited his home in the morning and was shocked to find his daughter hanging dead on a rope in his bedroom,” Mr Owoyesigyire explained.

An accident on Saturday at Nkwelle Ezunaka junction in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State claimed the lives of a man, his wife, daughter and mother-in-law.

It was gathered that the accident involved a tipper lorry and a car.

The victims, who were rushed to a nearby hospital were confirmed dead on arrival.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed said the corpses of the victims have been deposited in a morgue.

Mohammed said, “There was an accident involving a tipper and a Toyota Camry car along Nkwelle Ezunaka junction in Onitsha.

“The accident occurred when the two vehicles had a head-on collision. As a result of the accident, the driver of the Toyota Camry, one Mr Godwin Akaeme and three other passengers in the car comprising his wife, daughter and mother-in-law, whose names are still unknown, sustained various degrees of injuries.

The PPRO said the tipper driver, one Ebuka Ekene, who sustained minor injuries was treated and subsequently arrested.

A 25-year old man, one Kayode Oladipupo, has been arrested for engaging a 15-year old teenager in sex romp inside a market in Lagos.

The incident happened at the popular Oke-Odo Market in the outskirt of Lagos.

It was gathered that the suspect lured the victim, fondled her breasts, got her confused and engaged her in a romp by penetrating her from the back side.
However, while the romp was going on, some of the traders who saw what happened raised alarm. It attracted the attention of the market leaders who apprehended and handed him over to the police in the area.

The matter was later transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command after the victim revealed her age and was still a minor.
The suspect was found culpable and was charged before the Ogba Magistrates court for defilement.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Clifford Ogu, informed the court that the victim was still a minor and will like to seek the advice of DPP on the matter.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. T. Akanni, granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
However, he was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition while awaiting the outcome of DPP report.
It was gathered that the matter will be transferred to the High Court if the DPP report finds culpable and he may have to spend many years in prison if he was tried and found guilty by the court.
