LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 4th August, 2022//Pst Prevail Inegbenose. Topic: Redeeming Vow: How Important is it? A vow is a solemn promise or pledge made to God to do something or behave in a certain way. A vow could be financial or service or conduct. Unfortunately, so many believers have failed in this task. They are quick to make pledges in the house of God, but only to leave them unredeemed. The big question now is, how important is it for us to pay our vows? We at LearnChrist took a look at the thought of King Solomon in Ecclesiastics 5:1-6, where he said when we come to the house of God; let us be more ready to hear, rather than making pledges without considering the commitments involved. He says when you make a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; stating emphatically that it is better not to make a vow than to make and pay not. King Solomon admonished that we should not allow our mouths to cause us to sin, nor say before the angel, it was an error. He asked; do you want God to be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of thine hands? From the foregoing, we concluded that it is very important for us to redeem our vows. Now, someone maybe saying, "Pastor, I have made so many vows in time past, no doubt out of ignorance, coercion, fear, favour and alright show-off; and I don't have what it takes to redeem them." Well, in the time of ignorance God overlook, Acts 17:30. Thank God this message has come to you; repent and stop making mindless vows. Another person maybe asking, "pastor, should we stop making vow unto God?". No, don't stop; but do it with the understanding of what it entails, not as the fools. Pls note: 1. Vow is sacred, holy and spiritual, and therefore, its binding on the vower. 2. Vow is not only in money/materials, but also in conducts and service 3. Financial/material vow must not be made in faith (in expectation of resources), but out of what you have at hand or within reach. God bless your mind! |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 14th July, 2022||Pst Prevail Inegbenose. Topic: How To Curb Boredom In Prayer? Wow! It was another great moment in God's presence at LearnChrist bible study meeting as we x-ray boredom in prayer and how it can be controlled. Boredom in prayer is simply the lost of interest, by way of feeling sleepy or tired or wearing during prayer, and not wanting to continue in the act. No doubt, almost everyone reading this piece may have experienced boredom in prayer. I, as a person and a believer have experienced it. But the big question now is, how then can boredom in prayer be curb? At LearnChrist, we began by identifying these two facts: 1. It is normal for a new convert to experience boredom in prayer. So also, is a not-growing believer. As he/she grows, the boredom becomes a thing of the past. 2. Boredom is a strategic demonic weapon of the kingdom of darkness. It is used to deter believers from praying, knowing the devastation that it causes to it's kingdom. So a sudden and unusual feeling of sleepy, tiredness and fatigue during prayer is demonic, except otherwise (health challenge). Take note! However, on how to curb it properly, we noted amongst others that; * As a new convert, start by spending fewer time in prayer, then increase it as you grow spiritually - note that it takes self-discipline to grow spiritually. This point therefore brought us to the issue of duration in prayer. How important is duration in prayer? Does God answers our prayer on the basis of duration? At this point we ran out of time; as we hope to bring you details of how to control boredom in prayer and also discuss the importance of duration in prayer next week Thursday 21st July. Join us, and God bless you richly! |

LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 7th 2022||Pst Prevail Inegbenose Topic: The Fast That Counts. Texts: Isaiah 58:1-6; Zech 7:4-9; Truly, anything that's worth doing, is worth doing well. It is not only important to do a thing that is good, it is also to do it aright. As we at House of God Int'l - Rest Tabernacle are currently waiting on the Lord in our Covenant Fasting/Prayer program for the Seventh Month, LearnChrist deemed it necessary to take a look at fasting that counts. God's word says, "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?" Isaiah 58:6. We noted that beyond abstinence from food, activities, places or pleasures for a period of time, as well as praying during this time; we are also to eschew evil and wicked acts. When we fast and pray, and yet hold people in our heart, lay burdens or yokes on people for whatsoever reason, the bible says such fast is unacceptable before God. So, for our fasting and prayer to count, it has to be devoid of every attributes of the devil. God bless you! Pls, be part of our fasting program for the seventh month. Tomorrow, Friday 8th is day 8 (eight). |
Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 3rd July, 2022||Pst Prevail Inegbenose. Topic: Taken Over My Territories Texts: Josh 1:3; Gen 13:17; Deut 2:24; 30:9. What does it means to take over territory? Now, let's take a look at what territory is; and from there we will get to understand what it means to take it over. The bible says in Deut 30:9; "And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land..." There are four territories from the above scripture: 1. The city/land where you dwell is your territory. Note that every land has its own fruit; and it the will of God for you to possess your portion as a resident of the land. "And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous...in the fruit of thy land." So, when we take over this territory, we are simply making demand to eat in plenty and be satisfied the fruits of the land. 2. The work or the business you do is your territory. "And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand." Listen, the expected outcome of any work/business is for it to prosper. So, when we take over this territory, we are simply making demand for the works of hand to prosper. 3. Your body is your territory. "And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous...in the fruit of thy body." This has to do with bring forth; from your body comes children, ideas, strengthen etc. If the body is attacked, it can't bring forth. So, when we take over this territory, we are simply making demand for good health and fruitfulness. 4. Your possessions is your territory. This means what you already owns or have - your possessions. "And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous...in the fruit of thy cattle." What you have maybe small, but they have to be preserved; no matter how small what you have are, they are worth adding to. So, when we take over this territory, we are simply making demand for preservation over our belongings. I pray for you, this day by the power of the Holy Ghost, you are taken over your territories in Jesus mighty name. |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 30th June, 2022|| Pst Prevail Inegbenose. Topic: Put On The New Man Texts: Eph 4:22-24; Col 3:8-10 It was indeed another exciting moment at LearnChrist bible study meeting as we took a look at 'The new man, who he is and what it means to put him on'. We noted that being born again is a transformation from the fleshly realm into the spirit realm, John 3:5-6. And at new birth one's heart becomes regenerated which the bible referred to as being a new creature, 2Cor 5:17. And that, that new creature is the New Man which is Christ's kind, James 1:18. However, we observed that apostle Paul while writing to the early days believers said; "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." Eph 4:22&24. Question is, why was apostle Paul asking them to put on the new man when they were already believers? At LearnChrist, we therefore concludes that being justify by faith in Christ Jesus is not a license to live in sin. And that believers are expected to demonstrate the kind of Jesus that they are through faith in Him in their daily living, Rom 13:12-14. We further noted that, to put on the New Man implies among others; 1. Being a total reflection of Christ, Rom 13:14. 2. Being a true and uncompromising ambassador of Jesus here on earth,1Cor 3:9-10. 3. Always demonstrating the attributes of Christ, Eph 4:20 Col 2:6-7. 4. Living worthy of the gospel of Christ, Phil 1:27. 5. Being obedient to the lordship of Jesus, Luke 6:46. God bless you richly, and enable you to put on His Son in Jesus name. |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 23rd, 2022||Pst Prevail Inegbenose. Topic: The Relevance of The Old Testament. "Oh no pastor, that's in the old testament", he said. "Yes I know, but it's God's word." I responded. "Listen, we are now under a new covenant." He added. The question is does the new covenant makes God's word in the old testament irrelevant? It is noteworthy to state that Jesus Christ Himself made several references to the old testament during His earthly ministry. The apostles also did. Besides, the old testament is the revelation of the new testament. We, at LearnChrist noted that, though there are certain practices in the old testament that Christ puts an end to; it shouldn't be considered to be irrelevant because the testament is God's words and helps us to properly understand the new testament and the new covenant. We noted further that; 1. If holy men were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the old testament, how shall we whom the scriptures is given considered it irrelevant? 2. If the old testament was irrelevant, the men whom God gave the wisdom to compile His words would have omitted it. 3. The end to some practices in the old testament by Christ's redemptive work doesn't necessarily make the entirely testament irrelevant; just as the removal of some topics in a book... How shall we understand the new testament and Christ's redemptive work (the new covenant) without the old testament. It is a shadow of things to come, Heb 10:1. So, for one to have a deeper knowledge of the new covenant and holds it in high esteem, the old testament must be considered relevant. We therefore counselled that God's words is God, and no part of the scriptures should be considered irrelevant no matter how rightly we try to divide the word. Bless you richly! |

Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 26th June, 2022||Pst Prevail Inegbenose Topic: The Demands of A Sound Doctrine. Text: 2Tim 4:1-4; 1Tim 1:8-10. A sound (right) doctrine is basically teachings or religious belief that is founded on the gospel of Christ: *His birth, death and resurrection. * The expression of faith in Him for justification, John 3:16, Gal 2:16. * Our inheritances in Him, Gal 3:14 However, I want us to know that this doctrine is not without demands - what is required or expected of us as true believers/followers of Christ. The bible says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears." 2 Tim 4:3. To endure means to put up with something that may not be convenient. So, if the bible is saying a time shall come when they will not endure sound doctrine, then it means there are demands that the gospel of Christ places or expected of us. Listen, It is true that we are saved by faith in Christ Jesus; but I want us to know that our faith in Him places on us some level of responsibilities, Phil 1:27; Eph 5:3&8; 1pet 1:14-16. Someone maybe saying, "Christ has made me free; so I can live my life the way I wants." That's not entirely true. Yes, you can live your live free from the power of darkness, Col 1:13. Hear this, we live our lives the way Jesus wants us to; except that you have not truly submitted yourself to His lordship. MY COUNSEL!!!! 1. Live With The Consciousness of the Demands of your faith; 1Tim 4:16; Gen 39:7-9 2. Never Allow This World to set the Standard for your living. Jesus Christ is the standard for our living, 1John 2:6. 3. Set your Priority on Christ. Until you embrace these three counsel, you cannot endure sound doctrine. I pray for you, nothing shall be too difficult for you to let go for the sake of Christ! |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 16th June, 2022||Pst Prevail & Becky Inegbenose. Topic: Are There People God Will Not Have Mercy On? Text: Rom 9:15&18. "Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth." Now, to answer the above question, we began by looking at why the assertion was made by Apostle Paul in his epistle to the church in Rome. History has it that the gentiles believers came under serious attack by the Jewish believers, saying the former are not God's people because they do not observe their traditions, particularly the law of circumcision. In putting up defence, Paul said, "Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the gentiles? Yes, of the gentiles also...which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith." Rom 3:29-30; 4:9-12; 10:12. Truth be told, the Jewish believers perceived themselves as being special and superior to their gentiles counterparts because they are the descendants of Abraham. To cushion that haughtiness and pride, Paul unraveled the following revelations: 1. That being the descendants of Abraham doesn't necessarily makes them God's children, noting that the children of promise are counted for seed and not of the flesh, Rom 9:4-8. 2. That the election of God is not based on the system of nature like birth, wisdom, might or appearance, but solely by choice, citing His choice of Jacob, Rom 9:10-12. We at LearnChrist concluded that the assertion, "God will have mercy on whom he will, whom he will, he hardened.", Simply means God has the sovereign authority to determine who He chooses. He makes His choice by Himself without the influence of nature or men. The God who choose the Jews can also choose the gentiles or any other people He desires. He says, "I will call them my people, which were not my people..." Rom 9:25-26. Listen, the intent of that assertion was to dissuade the Jewish believers from undue discrimination against the gentiles believers and to make them understand that God reserve the sole authority to choose whoever He wants without fear or favor. Suffice to say, the above assertion does not means there are people God will not have mercy on when they approach Him for it. We surely shall obtain mercy when we come boldly to the throne of grace, Heb 4:16. Jesus said, "he that cometh to me; I will in no wise cast out." John 6:37. So, if a man forsake his wicked ways and turn to God, the bible says "he will have mercy upon him." Isaiah 55:7. We therefore counsel that people are not to continue to live in sin because they have committed so much and think God will not have mercy on them. No matter how dark our past is, the door of mercy is always open unto us through Christ. God bless your heart richly! |
Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 19th June, 2022||Pst Prevail & Becky Inegbenose Topic: God Is Not A Magician. Text: Isai 10:27; Luke 4:14; Eph 6:10. Indeed, there is supernatural power of God to break yoke, heal the sick, deliver the captives, open doors etc. The might of God; the same that raised Christ from the grave, parted the red sea, drove back the river of Jordan, and made the mountains to skip. But, in all of this, our God is not a magician, and should not be taken for one. The way to Know one is taken God for a magician is when he/she is wanting to cut corners by offering money to purchase hallow things so as to receive miracles. Simon, the sorcerer thought God was a magician, and he offered money to buy the gift of the Holy Spirit, Acts 8:18-21. Listen, accessing the supernatural power of God is workable, doable and possible without having to adopt the magic approach. All you need is to understand the workings of God, and also exercise a little bit of patience, Heb 10:36. HOW Does God WORK? 1. God is a God of Process, and Order: Putting the right beg in the right hole; doing the first thing first. Jesus said, seek ye first the kingdom of God, Matt 6:33. There is an order and process with God; He's not a magician. 2. God is a God of Principles - kingdom principles: For you to tap into kingdom wealth, you need to obey kingdom principles, Gen 8:22. Hear this, it is not enough to obey principles, but obeying continually is what is required of us - a lifestyle. 3. God is a God of Covenant Practices: That's following the foot steps of our patriarchs in their walk with God - doing what they did with Him. For instance, Abraham built an altar (a place of fellowship) where he called upon the name of the Lord, Gen 12:1-4,7; 13:1-4. How is your fellowship with God? Are you having one - corporate and private altar? Noah was a just man, Gen 6:8-9; 7:1. Jesus does always the things that please God, John 8:29. 4. God is a God of Obedience: One of the things that God requires from us is absolute obedience to His words. Obedience is what activates miracles, and not magic. Apostle John said, "Whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments...", 1John 3:22. Read: John 14:15; Luke 6:46; Deut 28:1-2. These but not limited, are the workings of God that brings miracles. If there be an area of your life where you need divine intervention, then begin to relate with God on this basis through Christ Jesus. God is not a magician! I decree, you are stepping into your promised Land this season in Jesus mighty name |

"Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon the earth, That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?" To triumph means to prevail; and the word 'short' means for a moment, awhile or not forever. In other words, that trouble you are faced with now shall certainly come to an end. Hear this; Your victory is sure! Your success is sure! Your conquest is sure! In fact, it is as sure as the word of God, Ps 19:7; 93:5. Someone, maybe saying, "pastor, my trouble has been on for over 20 years now, and you are saying the triumphing of the wicked is short? LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 9th June, 2022|| Pst Prevail & Becky Inegbenose. Topic: Are Believers Already In Heaven On Earth? In answering the above question, we first and foremost considered the following facts: 1. Jesus said, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:3. The place referred to in that passage was a place other than this world. Then He says "I will come again". Has Jesus returned? Take note! 2. In his description of the new earth and heaven, apostle John writes; "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain..." Rev 21:4. People still die, and rot in pain and sorrow in this world. Take note! 3. Again John wrote; "And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass." Rev 21:18. Is the world we live in made with gold? Take note! 4. John noted further; "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof." Rev 21:23. We are still depending on the sun to give light in this world. Take note! 5. John said; "And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." Rev 21:27. Don't we still have the abominable (sinners) in this world? Take note! 6. John stated; "...This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power..." Rev 20:5-6. Has the resurrection of the dead taken place? Take note! We, at LearnChrist bible study meeting therefore concluded that believers are not already in heaven on earth; because this world doesn't fit the biblical description of how heaven looks like and the events that will precedes it hasn't happened. However, "Heaven on Earth" as popular among the believers is an inspired utterance - a light, insight or revelation caught from the scripture, which denotes that believers are kingdom ambassadors; therefore, their supplies, and provisions comes from heaven, hence "heaven on earth." This doesn't mean that believers are already living in the new heaven and earth as spoken of in the scriptures, (Rev 21). We however counselled that believers are not to allow the revelations of heaven on earth derail their focus on Christ's second return. I pray for you, you will not miss eternity with Jesus! |

Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 5th June, 2022||Pastor Prevail Inegbenose. Topic: You Are Still Anointed. Text: 2Sam 3:39. "And I am this day weak, though anointed king..." David's hope of becoming the king of Israel appears dashed. Why? Abner, the captain of the army of Israel who was about to make it happen has been killed, 2Sam 3:17-28. David was grieved; he lifted up his voice in pains and said, though I am experiencing hard times, I am still anointed. Do you know that you are an anointed king, just as David was? Every believer is an anointed king, "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." Rev 5:10. The word 'made' means to be anointed or empowered. NOTE THESE TWO FACTS: 1. The Troubles You Are Passing Through Now Doesn't Change Who You Are. You maybe sick with terminal disease; you maybe jobless, poor, childless; You are still anointed. You are who God says you are despite the challenges you are facing. I read about Albert Einstein, who in spite of being dormant and written off in school, later became an exponent of a theory - the theory of relativity. 2. Always Acknowledge and walk In The Consciousness of That Anointing. It is that same anointing that will change your situation some day. David did the same and the anointing enthroned him the king of Israel, 2sam 5:3. I read of Thomas Edison who failed almost 10,000 times before inventing the light bulb. Imagine a man failing for such a number of times, yet he didn't give up. It can only be that he acknowledged and walk in the consciousness of what was in him. Therefore, arise my brethrens; your troubles are not your end, they are only stepping stones; though they are there, but you are still anointed for exploit. LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 2nd June, 2022||Pst Prevail & Becky Inegbenose. Topic: "HEAVEN" Focus: Is God In Heaven? To deal with this focus, we deemed it thoughtful to first and foremost established whether or not there is a place called heaven; and our first port of call was this; "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Gen 1:1. Read: Ps 33:6. The question now is does God dwell in heaven - is He in heaven? To answer this, we also took a dive into the scriptures; "Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens." Psalm 123:1. "The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men." Psalm 11:4. "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name." Matt 6:9. Read: Ps 2:4; Ps 18:13; Ps 33:13; Rev 12:7; Rev 21:1-3. So, from the foregoing, we concluded that God is in heaven according to His words. Now, why do some people say God is not in heaven? We noted that their argument may have been based on Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." They claim that God is still where He was before He created the heaven and the earth. The question is, Is it not possible for God to have created the heaven and the earth, and call the part He dwells heaven? A man may created a city or business, and decide to call the part he dwells or began the headquarter. Listen, God's word tells us God is in heaven; let His word be true, and men's word be lie. We, at LearnChrist however counsel that, if indeed God does not dwell in heaven; it shouldn't be a problem at all. Wherever He is, we will meet Him there. If He dwells in the cave, we will be there with Him. Let's not chase after the irrelevance, and miss out on the relevance. The most important thing now is to believe in Jesus and live for Him with all sincerity of heart. I pray for you, may your focus on God and eternity with Jesus not be derailed in Jesus mighty name. Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 29th May 2022||Pastor Prevail Inegbenose Topic: Sin Is A Destiny Killer. No matter how men and women of this generation gives colouration to sin, it is of the devil, and he cometh not but to kill, to steal and to destroy, John 10:10. Therefore, the writer of Hebrews counselled, "...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us..." Heb 12:1. One of the things that sin does is to hinder a man from manifesting his glory. The word "beset" means to hinder, resist, distract or stopped from manifesting ones glory. To lay aside means to get rid of, cast off, put off, throw off or stopped from having it's way. Apostle Paul warned, "Awake to righteousness, and sin not..." Read: Rom 6:12-15. Adam lost the garden of Eden to the sin of disobedience, Gen 2:16-17. The same fate befell Achan and his household, Joshua 7:19-25. Painfully, the destinies of Achan's children whom I believed some of them would have be prophets in Israel, like Isaiah, Micah, Zechariah, because they are from the tribe of Judah, were all destroyed. Hear this, sin drains glory. The glory of Israel departed because of sins, 1Sam 2:22-25, 4:1-21. An act of sin is an avenue for the devil to drain a man's glory. Brethren, the time has come for us to get over sin, and presents ourselves as an instrument of righteousness unto God. I pray for you this day, your life shall be a reference point unto God for righteousness in Jesus mighty name. Rest! |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 26th May, 2022||Psts Prevail & Becky Inegbenose. Topic: Salvation And My Conduct Thereafter. Our Focus: Is it needful for us to change our old ways of life after we have received Christ? For instance, if I was fornicating, stealing, defrauding, lying etc, before I met Jesus, can I still continue living like that? At LearnChrist bible study meeting today, we established that change in conducts doesn't justify us; but faith in Christ Jesus is what does, Gal 2:16. However, faith in Jesus places on us some responsibilities that requires us to change our old ungodly ways of life and demonstrate His attributes in our daily living. We took a look at Apostle Paul's life: (*) His life before salvation (Acts 8:1-3, 9:1-2,13), tells us how he murdered, persecuted and imprisoned the believers in the early church. (*) His encounter with Jesus, (Acts 9:3-21). He was converted and called to bear God's name before the gentiles, and others, and he immediately began to preach the gospel. (*) His life after salvation, (Gal 1:13-16; 1Tim 1:13.). Paul became a changed person, from being a persecutor to an armour of light in Christ Jesus worthy of emulation. Paul said, "For ye have heard of my conversation in time past..." Gal 1:13. The word conversation means conduct. Again, he says," Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious..." 1Tim 1:13. So, we concluded that even Apostle Paul, having received Christ changed his old ways of life which was not pleasing unto God. Therefore, every believer is expected to do the same. If there be anything in your life that doesn't align with Jesus, now is the time to change and have a meaningful walking relationship with God. Read: 1Peter 1:13-15; Eph 4:17-32 I pray for you this day, you will not miss eternity with Jesus on the last day in Jesus mighty name. |
Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 22nd May, 2022||Pst Prevail Inegbenose Topic: Redeemed From Foundational Curse. Text: Rev 5:9; Gal 3:13; Heb 9:12-14. In simple tense, to be redeemed means to be saved or delivered. I did mention this during my Easter message titled, "Redeemed by The Blood of Jesus." Today, I am looking at redemption with focus to foundational curse/ altar. Foundational curse is any form of affliction operating in the life a person that has it bearing from the origin or bloodline of that person. The power sponsoring such affliction is referred to as foundational altar. Note that foundational curse and altar are usually the resultant effects of the deeds of our forefathers, Matt 27:25. Hear this, every attack that has it's bearing from our origin or bloodline is foundational curse/altar. But, the good news is, Christ has redeemed us from them all 1. Rev 5:9 tells us Christ has redeemed us to God by His blood. You will noticed it went further to say, "Out of every tongue, kindred...", which means out of every earthly origin, blood line, birth or nativity. That is to say, Jesus has delivered us from every foundational curses/altar. 2. Gal 3:13 tells us Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. The course of the law is the law of sin and death", Rom 8:2; 6:23. How did He do that? He was made a curse to deliver us from the curse of the law. Isn't that interesting that Jesus was made a curse; and tasted death to deliver us from the curse of the law? Read: Heb 9:12-14; WHAT Are We To Do Now? 1. Always Declare Your Redemption, Ps 107:2. As you do so, you are simply moving the might of God into action, and simply bring your foundation into the knowledge of what you have become in Christ, so as to let go of you. Jesus said to Satan, "It is written". 2. Walk with the consciousness of who you are - the redeemed of the lord. 3. Don't weigh your redemption by material possession. LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 19th May, 2022||Pst Prevail & Becky Inegbenose. Topic: Godly Characters & Eternity In God's Kingdom. Our focus was: Is Heaven Possible without Godly Character? We began by looking at what gives eternal life and access to God's kingdom. We established from the scripture clearly that faith in Christ Jesus is what does - John 3:16; 5:24; 6:47; Gal 2:16; 3:26; Eph 2:8. However, the question now is; if we say we have faith in Jesus, yet we are not demonstrating His attributes in our daily living; what becomes of our faith? To answer this all-important question, let's consider these biblical facts: 1. Matt 7:21-23. Jesus said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father..." And when they probe why and recounted the wonder they did by His name; Jesus answered, "I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity." 2. Galatians 5:19-21. Here, apostle Paul was admonishing a group of believers in Galatia - Blood-bath, spirit-filled and tongue-speaking believers; he said if the works of the flesh is made manifest in you "I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." 3. Ephesians 5:3-5. Once again, apostle Paul was speaking to the believers (not unbelievers) in Ephesus, he said, "But fornication and all uncleanness...let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints...for this you know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person...hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." Read: 1Tim 1:19; Titus 1:16; 1John 2:4; Rev 14:12. From the above scriptures, we concluded that a person may loose his place in God's kingdom on the ground of lack of godly characters, hence as believers God expects us to demonstrate them in our daily living. PLS Ponder On The Following Below: (*) A person's faith in Jesus maybe made void by the works of iniquity, Matt 7:23; Gal 5:19-20. (*) Once saved is not forever saved. Walk out your salvation; avoid any form of ungodliness and walk in the fear of God! Phil 2:12; 2Cor 7:1, Rom 13:11-14. (*)The purpose of grace is not only for us to be saved, but to also manifest the character of God here on earth, Matt 5:16. Eph 5:8. (*) Don't wait until the last minute before receiving Jesus, ( in case you are considering the thief on the cross, Luke 23:40-43). You may not have that chance. Accept Jesus now and demonstrate His characters in your daily living. God bless you richly, Rest! |
Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 15th May, 2022||Pst Prevail Inegbenose Topic: The Weaknesses Of Money; part 2. Text: Eccl 10: 19. "A feast is made for laughter, wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things." I did mention last week that money is weak. Below are some of the weaknesses of money; 1. Money Cannot Deliver in the Day of Wrath: "Riches profit not in the day of wrath..." Prov 11:4. "Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath..." Zeph 1:18. Hear this, when the wrath of God comes upon a man, there's no amount of money that can save him. Money doesn't avert God's punishment. The men in the days of Noah were drinking and eating, and marrying and giving in marriage - with all the money at their disposal, yet their lives were not spared from the flood. 2. Money Cannot Deliver in the Day of Death: "They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother...That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption." Psalm 49:6-7,9. In other words, money cannot redeem a man in the day of day. When the time comes for the spirit to return to God, and the body to the dust, Eccl 12:7; money can't stop it. 3. Money Doesn't Give Eternal Life: I have searched the scriptures, and I found no place where it was said money secures a place in eternity with Jesus. In Acts chapter eight, Simone offered money for the gift of God, and he was severely rebuked. The only thing that guarantees eternal life is faith in Christ Jesus, John 3:16. 4. Money Doesn't Give Good Name: "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches..." Prov 22:1 Hear this, popularity doesn't equal good name. A man maybe rich and popular, and yet evil spoken of. What do people say about you wherever you name is mentioned? When a man is known for evil, there's no amount of money that can change that narrative. Brethren, I leave you today with these tips: (*) The destination of Satan and his cohorts in eternity is already defined - hell. (*) Your destination in eternity is not yet defined; you still have a choice to make, either to spend your eternity with Jesus in God's kingdom or with Satan in hell. (*) That choice of yours is what the devil wants to take away from you by making you to think money is the ultimate. "Money is weak" I pray for you, money will not rule over you, rather you will rule over it in Jesus mighty name. Rest! |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 12th May, 2022|Pst Prevail Inegbenose Topic: Godly Character - Using Joseph As a Case Study. We did establish last week that godly character is a behavior/conduct that demonstrate the true nature and personality of God/Christ. And that every believer must manifest it in his/her daily living. Today, we took a look at Genesis 39:7-9, and saw how Portiohar's wife set her eyes on Joseph to commit immorality with him. But he said, "...how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" Hmmmm, we wondered how many men of this generation would react to this offer the same way Joseph did? Notwithstanding, we further noted the lessons to be learnt from the incident: 1. Every believer must walk in the fear of God, Deut 8:6; 2Cor 7:1. The fear of God is that little feeling from the inside that propels you to live godly. 2. Even in difficult times, a child of God must demonstrate godly character. There is never an excuse for any ungodly act. Joseph had so many reasons to have accepted the offer, but he didn't. 3. Every child of God must say no to sin no matter how enticing it is, Prov 1:10. 4. Every ungodly character, whether the society accepts it or not, is a sin before God. Join us next week as discuss "godly character and eternity". God bless you richly in Jesus mighty name. Rest! |
Encounter For Rest Service, Sunday 8th May, 2022|Pst Prevail Inegbenose Topic: The Weaknesses Of Money (part one) Text: Eccl 10:19. "A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things." Noticed it says, money answereth all things." We live in a generation where moral values have been sacrificed at the alter of money. People have become so much money-minded that they openly indulge in corrupt practices to satisfy their greed for money. Money is also the root cause of thefts, murders, frauds and other social vices happening in our society today. Now, what does the scripture means when it says money answers all things? It means money serves all purposes. For whatever reason, king Solomon was bringing man into the understanding of what feast/wine can do and what money can do. He was drawing a comparison between these two factors. Then, he says, though a feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry, they cannot provide all the needs of man, but money does. Man would need shelter, car, clothes, shoes etc; feast/wine cannot cater for these things, but money can - hence money serves all purposes. However, that money answers all things, that money serves all purposes, doesn't mean it is almighty, it is infallible, it is worth taken up arms, killing, maiming or committing immorality for - to the extent of having it with dogs... No! A bible commentary I stumbled into while researching for this subject, said something I found very instructive. He said, "But money answers nothing to the soul; it will not procure the pardon of sin, the favour of God. The peace of the soul...is not maintained, with corruptible things as silver and gold." Hear this, money indeed is weak! Do we need money? Yes, we do. But in our pursuit for money, we must do it as it is right with God, and bear in mind that money is weak. To be continued next week, as I bring you the very weaknesses of money. God bless you richly! |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 5th May, 2022|Pst Prevail Inegbenose Topic: Godly Character, part one. One of the aspects of our walk with God that needs urgent attention in our generation is godly character. Godly Character is a conduct/behavior that demonstrate the true nature and personality of God/Christ. At LearnChrist bible study meeting this evening, we cited Jesus as our perfect example of godly character, as His life was a complete expression of it, John 8:29&46. "Which of you convinceth me of sin? Apostle Paul, on his part admonished; "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1Tim 4:12. Read: Phil 1:27; 1Pet 1:15; Eph 4:17-32. From the foregoing, we established that godly character is required of every believer. But the big question is, why does it seems to be neglected in our generation? In answering the above question, we considered the followings as some of the likely reasons: 1. Lack of Self-control: We live in a generation where the concept of self control is taken lightly in the Christendom. We no longer wants to take the pain to discipline ourselves to do that which is right. Hear this, godly character is developed through obedience and self control. Apostle Paul, as endowed with grace as he was, he put himself under control, 1Cor 9:27. In like manner, you and I must take the same measure to ensure we manifest the character of Christ in our daily living. 2. Wrong Notions: - The notion that it takes a supernatural encounter with Jesus to put up Christ-like character. - The notion that some sought of grace is required to demonstrate godly character. Listen, Apostle Peter, while writing to the Jewish believers said, "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." 2Pet 1:10. Noticed he said, "give diligence." What does it mean to give diligence? It means to make every effort - personal and planned effort to make your election sure. My brethrens, all we need to live godly is to know how much Christ loves us, and not some sought of power coming on us. 3. Inordinate Desire for Pleasure is Another Reason for the neglect of godly character: The truth is every believer knows he/she is expected to demonstrate Christ-like character. But undue and excessive lust for the works of the flesh is our bane... 4. Lack of Understanding of Who We Are In Christ was Also Considered: The bible says we are heir of God through Christ, Gal 4:7. It says again that we are complete in him, Col 2:10. Now, if indeed we know this, will it not be a thing of joy to demonstrate the character of the one we are complete in? Listen, when men struggle to represent Christ, it only means they have not known Him and who they are in Him. 5. Lack of Knowledge of The Sacrifices Christ borne for Us: I strongly believe it takes the knowledge of the pains, tortures and humiliation that Jesus borne for us, for a man to humble himself before Him. Jesus was mocked, smitten and spit upon for our sake. Do we know this? Do we realize this? Have we allowed it to sink into us and determine our walk with God? I pray for you, from this day, God shall stir up your mind to demonstrate His characters in Jesus mighty name. God bless you richly! |
LearnChrist Bible Study Meeting, Thursday 14th April, 2022. Prevail Inegbenose. Topic: "The Purpose of Christ Death and The Missing Link in Our Generation". It was such a touching atmosphere yesterday on LearnChrist bible study meeting as we discuss the pains and emotional tortures that Christ borne for the salvation of our souls. To set perspectives, we therefore noted that: 1. Jesus came in the flesh; He laid down His life and died the death of the cross; buried and rose on the third day. By His death and resurrection, the power of sin and death was conquered and man became free. Read: Heb 2:14; 1Cor 15:54-57, Rom 3:23-25. 2. The salvation of man was paid for. God didn't just declare man free as being the Almighty. No! He paid with His only begotten Son, 1Cor 6:20, John 3:16. 3. The death of Christ is Substitutionary; in that He took our place on the cross; therefore, we are to believe in Him in return, John 3:16. 4. Faith is required to activate the redemptive works of Christ, Rom 5:2; Eph 2:8. Today, Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven, making intercession for you and I; but many of us are still far from what is expected of us. What then is the missing link in our generation? After a careful thought and deliberations, we noted the followings: 1. The first missing link is that believers seems to be focused more on enjoying the benefits of redemption rather than walking in the consciousness of the sacrifices that Christ borne. Jesus was mocked, spite upon, smitten, scourge, tortured and humiliated for the sake of our salvation. So, if we have these sacrifices at the epic center of our minds as we walk with God, our orientation and approach to this world would be a lot different. Therefore, we opined that sermons on the pains and emotional tortures of Christ be taught in our churches/homes. 2. The second missing link is the inadequate grooming of believers on the basic principles of the gospel. Permit me to say this; we have noticed how the children of other religious faithful are being groomed from childhood. The reason is to inculcate in them the tenets of their religion so that when they grow up they will not depart from it, and also to effortlessly walk in the obedience of it. How much of this do we have in the Christendom? Believers must be taught the basic of the gospel - the principles of the doctrine of Christ. Let us not neglect the milk and begin to feed on the strong meat; knowing that most of the believers today were not born into Christian homes, 1peter 2:2. Therefore, we call on the church leaders and parents to continually groom their followers/wards in line with the basic principles of the gospel of Christ. 3. The third missing link is the work of the power of darkness to draw people into hell. The bible says the god of this world has blinded their minds to the glory of the gospel, 2Cor 4:4. Satan is at work to ensure that men do not walk in accordance to the tenets of the gospel of Christ. And we must not fold out hands and watch him take people to hell. What are we to do? Intercede and stand in the gap in our secret places and pray for everyone who believes and everyone who is yet to believe for an encounter with Jesus. God bless you...to be continued! |
