It's too late, it (biafra) has eaten deep. Since close to half a century now! Personally i think complete disintegration of the entire system [nigeria] is the only way each region can move forward, a lot of things are involved here that are hindering the general progress: religious and tribal sentiments coupled with corruption, there will never be a tension free nigeria. in my own little suggestion let each region form their own independent nation then let the name nigeria be like a organisation binding the whole regions together i.e international relation just like EU. That way the north can have their sharia, the igbo will be appeased for the genocide on them, the yorubas will get more serious with themselves and the niger deltans will clean up their soil. That way everyone is happy and the unity of nigeria will be truly non negotiable. seriously i dont see Nigeria as one nation i see it as four independent nations in a bond of friendship granting mutual help to each other. imagine what it would be like.

runing from de enemy is quite diff from runing from an attack. I honestly dont think kanu saying he is not afraid to die applies to this scenerio: he knows he could be snipped out yet he held rallies in open unsecured places not in bullet proof cars, he refused to stay indoors just as his bail conditions demanded, he won the government on three different occassions in court up till today they are yet to prove him guilty of any crime. All these to me counts as bravery. Everything you said about an ideology is true and i see them in de man. as for now we cant tell for sure if he has gone underground never to come up but even if he never shows up that is if he's still alive, no problem.
