Ceasar1: I hate snakes! I hate snakes! I hate Snaaaaaakes! Arrrrrrghhhhh! You better read the passage properly and be informed, in readiness for any surprises. |
frankdupree: was dere ever a score, if dere was, didn't take notice, all I know is, at d end, dey showed one chart lyk dat, showin ur weakness and strenth, and in d area of problem solving, I saw 70percent..bro, ve done so many online test dt, I dnt even take note of tinz lyk dt, if its urs its urs..lolzzzLol... I like that. |
frankdupree: sup guys, am new here, read ur posts frm start 2 finish, n am stil confused, bout d selection process tho, I only did d shapes and personality test tingy and dats all..no essay notin else..jst got a mail 2day telin me 2 come for an interview..quick one, hw many piple r dese guys wilin 2 take under dem, cuz selecting 50 den dropin down to 8..lolzz, dats few na!interesting development. Good for you if u stay in Lagos. Wetin u score for d shapes (problem solving). |
morising1: . No much thing as they said is an interview they will ask you few questions about ur self and based on th information providedThank you for the update |
JAGZZ: Only 6 people were picked at the last bootcamp to proceed to the 2 months training. Just 6..That's good. There must be criteria which age must be a factor. The younger, the more commitment to development and more loyalty. |
ojoawo: 50 were called for interviewIt's interesting how we believe things. Anybody called for the interview should have an open mind and attend. You don't have much to lose but a lot to gain if it pulls through. I am over qualified for the training and job position... They are looking for "Young" and "unemployed" persons with passion for software development. My advice: If you scored >90 in the problem solving section on your own, you're capable of learning web and mobile technologies on your own from the rich resources available online. Keep developing yourself, you might ultimately partner with firm where you wanted to be mere employee. Dream and continue nourishing it. |
princejude: Nice project, u can IM me.You've got mail |
princejude: TV remote ?? Can you get all english alphabets (A - Z) from tv remote. I think the best option is sms based dot matrix using gsm modemprincejude, here is a raw video I did as a manual for guys who build on their own. The matrix screen (not aesthetic) was for demonstration. Extra functions have been integrated thereafter. So, that's the TV remote implementation. The design is original. While there could be some similar designs prior to 2011, I was not privileged to see them in action. I'm pathetic at social network usage and you indirectly motivated me to post. Now, I may have to open a thread purely for commercially viable and educational embedded projects that will stimulate upcoming embedded programmers and enthusiasts. Yes, we can. I strongly believe we are better than most Chinese and Indians. We just lack institution and incentives. Princejude, I know you are also experienced. I would need your collaboration. What do you think? Watch "Dot matrix LEDs using TV remote for data input 1" on YouTube - Dot matrix LEDs using TV remote for data input 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV8E1M5g_gc Watch "Dot matrix LEDs using TV remote for data input 2" on YouTube - Dot matrix LEDs using TV remote for data input 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHDY1tsegeA |
princejude: TV remote ?? Can you get all english alphabets (A - Z) from tv remote. I think the best option is sms based dot matrix using gsm modemSure! Absolutely Yes. you get all alphabet, A - Z, 0 to 9, punctuation marks... I'll upload the video for your view (I need to reduce the size with pc for easy upload), it's intuitive. and of course, cost effective. I implemented it in 2011 first time for a client who specifically requested for it. There are other input modalities : PC keyboard only, USB RF transceiver, and GSM module. But the TV remote control is very cheap and simple. Note: You can combine input types eg PC keyboard and SMS etc. None is best. It all depends on choice, efficiency, cost and operational requirement. |
Thanks Germany for making my day. You deserve it. Champions of the world! |
YES!!!!! At last |
Whichever side takes the day, I don't care anymore... Supported Germany, but I'm stretched. |
ferdimako: B.Sc without research experience won't still get one a research-based M.Sc let alone PhD.Generally, a good BSc without research publication ( afterall u did research project prior to graduation), still opens doors for advanced degree overseas. HND is never recognized abroad, except for a BSc program admission. It's painful to see smart polytechnic guys denied promotion because of paper type. Deyinka007: You're right man, it's due to challenges at my job where a MSc cert with PGD is viewed as lesser than that of a MSc cert with BSc back ground . That's why I asked if I could be admitted with my HND because my OND is lower credit. Thanks for the responses everyone. That's exactly what I tried to point out. A first degree in any course (Bachelor's degree) gives you certain edge, where additional certification like PGD or just a 2week course is seen as an enrichment to your profile. Good you observed it. This could be an opportunity for you to make first class or a strong 2:1, then do MSc in a choice course/ university. |
gambudu: but y? u have pgd in comp sc or info tech, from which u can proceed for ur Masters.in 3 years u are done with both.He might be interested in replacing the HND with BSc, then pursue his career fully elsewhere. A friend, who's HND holder in accounting and chattered 7 years ago, faced a lot of challenges irrespective of ICAN due to hnd discrimination. Honestly, HND + PGD + MSc is a faster route, but can't guarantee him a PhD overseas except he has strong research experience. You can clinch PhD directly with BSc, NOT HND . |

aksat: I build, offer training for project student on:remote control system, digital clock, thermometer, moving message display, alarms, security system and general embedded systems with PIC microcontrollerNice. That reminds me, I have a flexible moving message (LED Dotmatrix ) display that takes alpanumeric input from an infra-red remote control (simple and readily available tv remote) to update information for display, meaning, you can Change the displayed message on the fly without reprogramming the chip. It uses simple PIC microcontroller. I think I have a video of its operation on my desktop. It was amazing how stress-free and flexible it was for students, hobbyists and some guys who build dotmatrix display for clients to assemble a customized display. It's unprofessional to hard-code the message in the chip by knowing before hand what clients want to display and reprogramming the chip just to change the displayed message. |
princejude: Assembly language is good but C language is bestTrue talk. In the past, I insisted that newbies learned asm first so that they can appreciate the internal memory / structure of microcontrollers, which ultimately make them know how to write fast and concise, resource management programs. Thereafter, learning and using C is mandatory if you want to become professional embedded engineer. Projects involving USB, ethernet etc require high level language, reduced product-time to market and for 'maintainability'. If you must learn only one language, then it must be C. |
pumpindkay: microcontrollers and .NET gadgeteer any difference?Practically, there is huge difference. Microcontrollers are generally without specification referred to as 8-bit, 16bit or even 32 bit computer on chip. You traditionally, program them using assembler or compiler. C compilers are the commonest amongst PIC, Atmel etc. However, advancement has ushered high-end microprocessors like ARM A8 and intel processors into hobbyist domain, where an OS is installed and you can literally control the chip with any high level language like C#. Raspberry pi is a complete computer running linux, yet available to beginners and professionals. You can program it with python, javascript, etc Conclusively, when we say microcontroller, We mean low end computer on chip with limited resources but suffient for dedicated task, hence codes are compiled into hex file -machine code, the cpu can execute. This is different from what compilers meant for normal pc can do. |

honourableseyi: How many unit course and course did you do last semester? Everything is fine here brother thanks to God and you?I registered 24 units, but missed 2 exams. I'm cool. Thanks. |
honourableseyi: You are welcome. It is good to help people because to the merciful, God will show himself merciful. How is your side? Incase you know or see someone that is in need of it too. May God see us throughHow's everything bro? I'm suppose to resume 2nd semester 100L, and I've got only 12 credit left on my 100level portal. Since I want to do 24 credit, can I safely change level to 200level so that I can take some courses from 2nd year? ps - I have not paid school fees yet. |
ferdimako: They are for my guys oh...since 2010..Yeah! I know they're not for you. You've have graduated and running your master's degree. I sent you the appropriate CIT132 material, from which all TMAs and Exam questions are lifted. I'm willing to help them with the PHY when i get the TMA questions. Advice: For new students, know your strength and weakness. If you're weak in numerate courses, then work more on them, practise and practise, get a study buddy ... commitment! Avoid carryover. |
ferdimako: Anybody to trade my guys' failed courses' TMAs?-PHY191, 192, 113, 124, 132 & CIT 132! I have done my best but those physics are killing them. I don't even know what their GPAs are now. Crazy! What do u mean by "Trade"? cash or kind? Well, I noticed many students were complaining and avoiding Physics exams, so I started free, hands-on tutorials in all Physics courses for my departmental guys. The calculations are straightforward once you get the hang of the principles. And the knowledge for all physics courses overlap. But most guys want answers without knowledge. Last semester, I scored an A of >90% in CIT132. No bragging. These courses are more like revision to me. Ferdi, because I know you're a "disciplined" guy, email me, let's see what I can offer u. hiresources [at] yahoo dot com |
Ymodulus: Am going to try Anthas by Jan 3rd for 3.4kg of customized HandBands. The manufacturer office is in Yiwu China. And Anthas have an office in Yiwu.Ymodulus, you are gradually becoming a formidable & experienced importer. Your skills in research, sourcing , negotiation and market diversity is unique. I must commend your effort. Please, can I have your number? I am interested in importing customized fully package electronic gadgets, looking for a company that can handle pcb making, populating pcb and packaging according to my specification ie Electronic Manufacturing service (EMS). I'm looking forward to my first importation from China . |
PT.Awal:No need hating! It's never late to become a medical doctor so that you enjoy the privileges. A nurse after years of practice went back to medical school and she's now a consultant Nephrologist of almost 10years. In any medical team, a medical doctor is always the head by virtue of his/her comprehensive training. This is a bitter pill to swallow especially for those who couldn't make med school or failed out, then became unhappy lab scientist or other health worker. Every health worker is important even the cleaners but that doesn't translate to equal right or ability. In engineering school, a lab technician irrespective of his experience cannot become the Dean inlieu of en:gineer with appropriate qualifications. |
Ymodulus: Less I forget. They also have office in Aba and Onitsha. so all Eastern guys. Good luckYou are the man... following you. I think it's about time to rekindle some of my developmental projects requiring sourcing tools from China with minimal risk. Thank you for sharing your findings . |
Siena: Sorry guys, I'm away from home, I'll respond to your queries later on this eveningSiena, I'm still waiting patiently for your expert advice. |
pricelessmr: Siena, |
Siena, Please, I use a VW Sharan 1996 model, VR6, auto. Unfortunately, I drove through a very deep water log area and my Gear box failed because water entered it. I bought another gear box from Lagos and it failed in less than 24hrs and was leaking oil. I was advised by some persons to convert it to manual gear to avoid further trouble. What's your advice on the conversion from auto to manual. I don't want to fall into the unending loop of these incompetent road-side mechanics. |
beebee5000: Danke. aber "Du bist ein gut Mann" ist falsch....................... "Du bist ein guter Mann" ist richtig....Thanks for pointing that, I am confident that I ll get to ur level of fluency if I continue to follow ur guide. I'm in SS Nigeria and get to Lagos sparingly. I may be in Lagos next week. I tried to pm u but u can reach me with dis email addy hiresources@yahoo dot com. for d materials. |
Chars1289: @bee d diff btw Ihr You (informal, plural) nd Sie You (formal, plural)...d tin dey confuse me well well.....can u enlighten me more on it...Let's clear the confusion: Make sure you understand the meaning of PLURAL You. If I say "You asked the above question" You in the sentence refers to only you (Chars) and it is know as Singular you. "You are good students of learn German", you here refers to more than one person, hence, Plural. When addressing a friend, colleague, young ones, family member in an unofficial platform, then use INFORMAL you ( Du, Ihr). For official setting or mark of respect use FORMAL you (Sie, Sie). When in doubt use Sie. Just like Ose and Ese in yoruba lang. the diff is respect. Note that the S in Sie is always capitalized irrespective of its position in a sentence. |
Envy! Tey actually don't want any department in the health sector to progress. Why must they be the only set of people to become the CMDs in every general hospitals
