Now their region is being plagued by banditry, terrorism, poverty and gradual famine due to the increasing Sahara Desert encroachment. They have ruled Nigeria the most out of all tribes and have nothing to show for it in their region in terms of education or massive technological development.

It's a simple case of poor rulers. Nigerians excel everywhere they are globally. Best doctors, scientists, sportsmen, engineers, artisans, statesmen and leaders. Nigerian-Americans are the most educated and professionally one of the most successful ethnic groups in America. They excel because they have a stable and enabling environment which values merit & hard-work and not nepotism or quota system.
