No need for a lockdown, no need for isolation centres. If cases continue to rise, let every home manage their patients with NCDC guidance. And every church should also manage theirs too in case members contract the virus. That way, everyone continue about their normal businesses until we all overcome. This will keep things moving and even help the skeptics appreciate the government and our health people.
So far, our general mindset towards covid has been really troubling, the government has been responsible and responsive enough, all to public suspicion and dissatisfaction. So let them let things move. It will all pass afterall

I do not think so. Or how do you mean? It's only a matter of protocol on enlisting and discharging patients and we all know Kogi is no partaker of covid protocols. Not taking any responsibility on covid.

I know we did some crazy stuffz then, can't call it sxual abuse cos it was mutual stuff among mates and mostly very secret as if everyone was into some kinda cult, also porn was common amongst the senior students and nobody indulged d juniors, since junior ones weren't allowed to use phone in school.

Truth remains nobody forced anyone into anything, consent was d key thing.
Wow. Would you mind your son or daughter attending a boarding school or your experience has built some kind of hesitation?

Exposure to pornography is more common than the outright sexual intercourse in boarding schools.
in our days no access to phone or internet, so boarding system did not facilitate exposure to pornography. But I think it should be a big issue today, even for day students, smart phones everywhere and for all ages

BBCpidgin is asking this question on facebook and I observed a lot of people are shying away from the question of sexual abuse and focusing more on physical abuse and maltreatments. I understand their reservations considering identity is open on facebook.

So thought I should bring it here. Did you ever experience sexual abuse or know someone who was abused as a boarding school student? It's one myth a lot of people carry, so can we have this talk here? Please share your experience.

I did attend a boarding school. I was not abused per se. But had a senior who masturbated in front of some three or four of us just to show us what sperm looks like.

By the way, I've been to education, crime, and family sections before I decided to place this here. I do hope my judgement was OK. Lol

Health / Re: Bad Breath Wants to kill me! Help! by princeSammyz: 10:49am On Nov 22, 2020
BadBreathBoy:
This guy called bad breath have haunted me all the way from primary school down to secondary and even to my university level.

I am still a young 19 years old guy at the peak of youthfulness but this guy is just ruining everything for me.
My self-esteem, public speaking skills, social life, confidence, in fact, everything has been smashed with a sledgehammer right in my face.
I have turned into an introvert because of this bad sickness but will cover it up with "Money on my mind" shït.

I have tried everything possible guys.
Below are kinds of stuff that I have tried and it is not working.

1. Visiting a dentist.
6 months ago, I took all the money I had to go over to the dentist in search of a solution. Had to wait for hours before getting attended to.
When the doctor came in, she first started with some words of encouragement.

Telling me I might not have bad breath and all, people might be thinking they have it but don't blah blah blah.
(So me that have bad breath I don't know what I am saying right?)
After much talk, she recommended flossing and cleaning.
That exercise where water passing through a tiny hole at high speeds is used to remove plaque from in between your teeth.
I had to shell out a whopping 4k for that plus the extra card of 500.
All the money I saved was gone just like that.
It didn't work!!! Bad breath still held me down.

2. Brushing twice a day. I did this for 1 week straight up without any improvement relative to the hard work put in. So I became less consistent with this. Toothpaste I have tried includes, Oral B, MyMy, Maclean, Close up, name it. Didn't work.

3. Garlic and ginger. Some persons here on Nairaland recommend that ginger and garlic can be used to drive off bad breath. The prescription was to swallow it whole before going to bed at night then brush in the morning to remove the after-effects.
I tried this for one week. Didn't work.

4. Mouthwash: I have wasted more than 4k in buying mouthwash but these things are just 2 hours wonder from the moment of application.
I get fresh breath for the time being but after like 3 to 4 hours, the bad breath keeps on coming back. Still didn't work.

5. Hydrogen peroxide: Someone also recommended I use this to chase bad breath.
It also works for sometime after which bad breath comes back. I even tried to dilute less than normal for maximum effects but the only thing I got was an irritating burn on my tongue. I am so not using this guy again!

6. Walnut: Some said walnut could be my Savior so I had to buy them in large quantity to chew but it didn't have long-term effects.
So I ditched it. I don't have money to waste as I am still a student.

7. Chewing a combination of bitter leaf, scent leaf, and guava leaves: Out of intuition, I decided to try this combination. My common sense inferred that since it was bitter, it should probably have some effects on the bacteria in my mouth. But alas! Bad breath wasn't even impressed one bit. I even had to stuff them in my pocket and chew on them while going to class. This was a big flop.
Didn't work at all.

8. Agnes Nwamma Herbal powder: I don't know what to say about this one, because it was even better that I just didn't brush for that day. Very useless in fighting off bad breath.

The funny thing that leaves my jaw-dropping is that my dad doesn't even brush, he uses a chewing stick but still has a very fresh breath than I that used mouthwash, baking powder, toothpaste and still chew the chewing stick to top that.

9. Chewing gum like Clorets, Methos: I have to be frank about these gums, they kind of aggravates the bad breath. They are simply applying salt to injury so I just stopped using them altogether.

Pls Nairalanders, help me out here. There have been lots of people who found a solution to their problem on here, so I doubt mine will be different.
Pls, I need something else to try that will not dig a hole in my pocket as I am still trying to stand on my feet.
I need a permanent solution not 3 hours wonder.

Lala pls push to the front page so I can get a large set of solutions to fight this off.

I don't want to resume school like this.
I am tired, I am weak, disheveled, exhausted, dejected, depressed, anguished, melancholic, in fact, I have tayad like this.

My confidence and esteem have been crushed by bad breath. Shyness, inability to have streamlined chat with people, playing deaf and dumb, using hand signals whilst communicating, smiling like a peacock when my opinion is required, staying away from girls, snubbing people, rejecting positions that have me talk to a crowd has taken over!!

Pls, abeg, mbok, biko, I need a solution.
A permanent one at that.
I experience similar situation and in my case I sometimes observe tonsil stones at the back of my throat. Some doctors said upper respiratory infection. Will like us to talk more about this. Please reply my pm

Yes or no does not matter here because the law of Nigeria has not declared it illegal. So let people have their choice and let their conscience guide them on the religious implications. What they are doing should not be tolerated. Is sharia above the Nigerian law? Which court ordered the demolition of the livelihood of these law abiding Nigerian citizens? This is really annoying

Politics / Re: Hisbah Demolishes Beer Parlours In Kaduna, Destroys Crates Of Drinks (Photos) by princeSammyz: 8:08am On Nov 10, 2020
This is unacceptable and condemnable! Alcohol is not a illegal in the law of the country. You now make some Islamic law binding on non muslems just because there are resident in your state. This is really bad and I expect victims to cry out and their governors too to demand for justice. You make useless sharia laws on such matters of choice as drinking and go on to allow the most barbaric of things as child marriage. Shame on you, shame on sharia. I think this is one the kind of things that we need to protest about, because it mocks the oneness of this country. You can not use some stupid law to infringe on someone's business - a business that is not spelt out illegal in the national legal framework, by implying absolute state sovereignty. These are the same people against restructuring because that has to do with resources. Very foolish religious nonsense! I have been really annoyed since I read the one in Kano, now Kaduna. This must not be allowed to pass, or persist. Not to sound any way tribal because I'm also a northerner, but its obvious most of the victims of this cruelty are southerners. Shame on Gandollar and co.

Good question. One perspective I'll like you to consider as you answer this question is the following. Why was Africa helpless against colonization with all the acclaimed potency of African Traditional Religion ATR? And why was it that the instrument of domination employed by the whites were different from the spiritual powers of the new God they were selling to Africans? If Odeshe is so powerful, no more important era for that to have been proven than the periods of slavery and colonization.

Family / Re: How Do I Handle This Kind Of Woman? by princeSammyz: 6:14pm On Sep 02, 2020
dangerousdaddy:
Good evening people. Please don't mind my English. My post is actually out of pains and frustration and i may not type with the correct words.

I'm a 31 years old guy. I'm actually very bad with spending because when i have money, whoever asks from me gets. I am under alot of pressure lately especially from those around me. I am the 1st child of my parents and have so many responsibilities.

I got my girlfriend pregnant and she moved in with me. My parents were never there for me so i vowed i was going to be there for my kids. Hence i do all i can to make sure my daughter and her mum are OK.

The girl in question is a torn in my flesh. Totally different from when we were dating without a child. Nowadays, as soon as i get my salary, she wants to buy this, she wants to buy that even though she knows i receive less than a 100k and i have multiple loans i am paying back because we moved out of our old apartment due to space constraints especially after she delivered.

Whenever i don't have money, there is never a happy moment in my home. But if i come home and bring money, we become very good friends. She wants to live a good life which is not wrong but I feel when she knows how i am managing, she ought to understand and bear with me.

The last straw that broke the camel's back was, i was yet to be paid, i had 700 with me. I gave her to make some food because we had the basic food stuff in the house.... Rice, beans, ogbono, spaghetti, garri, Egusi.... Palm oil. So basically all she had to buy was fish or something to put inside the food.

I came home after a hard day at work and met an empty kitchen. When I asked for my food, she asked me what i expected her to cook with 700 naira. I got so mad and left the house but since it was late (it was close to midnight), i decided to come back. In my anger, i started asking her why she's treating me badly. And the next thing is, she called her mum to say I'm fighting with her and that i pushed her to the ground. Her mum replied and said that if anything happens to her daughter, she would hold me responsible. That she didn't give me a wife......

Now I feel i should just end everything and let's go our separate ways before it becomes a case of domestic violence. I never want to see my child grow up to see me fighting with her mum always and being unhappy. I believe a child that grows up in an unhappy home is always at a disadvantage. Please help me guys. I am in pains.

I hope this makes front page
Now you know the pattern she's putting up. Test her to the limit and see her worst. Then decide if you can live with it. By the way, make sure she doesn't get loaded with your second baby just yet.

Religion / Re: BISHOP OYEDEPO: Is CAMA Policy Antichurch? by princeSammyz: 6:45am On Aug 25, 2020
I think from what I read about the law, it allows government to appoint an Interim management at times it deem necessary so as to probe the activities of the church, and of course every other org in same category. I wonder why we should be so worried if things are all going right with the running of these org before the new CAMA. Maybe I am missing something. Someone should enlighten us please on exactly how the new CAMA could make things grossly different in such a way that it will inhibit the spiritual duties of the church. I do not like to rush in condemning a thing before i fully understand its motive, more so that similar laws are obtainable elsewhere. Maybe someone should put light on the motive or as the church would like to say, the interest, of the government with this law and why a spiritual body should be exempted. The comments so far have not addressed that.
