Praise Jah!my husband's green card arrived early this morning.

Please take note.if you are being interviewed and you are asked a question that you have no answer to,don't give any reply.calmly inform the co that you are not good in that subject.you can tactfully mention another subject eg biology and then some topic that you can do justice to.the co will in most cases divert to that area of questioning.then you are on safe waters.just make sure you don't get upset,panicky,angry or even raise your voice at the co.prayerfully,calmly,boldly and respectfully direct the co to a safer subject and he will dance to your tune.no co is there purposely to deny you.everything depends upon God being with you and how you fare with the co. i hope someone finds this useful.

I don't know if the information im about to give is old,but all the same:
. 1.you only go to register for your ssn ,2weeks after you arrive.then,you will be told to expect it within 2weeks but you are most likely to receive it 4days after.if you go for the registration immediately you arrive,you will be asked to come back 2weeks time to do so.
2.you will receive your green card 45days after payment.that is why you are advised to pay before leaving.if you pay after arriving,you have to wait for that number of days before receiving it.
Information is from Maryland.i guess its the same all over.i might be wrong.

Obatide: I came across this, and felt it could be beneficial to some mates here, expecially for people who WON this DV Lottery and have stable Job(s) here in Nigeria (Or at least, 'okay' in Nigeria) and are contemplating on choice to make.

This was the exact decision my husband had to make before traveling 2weeks back.He also works as a lecturer and was sceptical about leaving his job but was later advised by the chairman of the school board (uncle)to travel immediately and secure admission to do his phd.After which he should use the admission letter to process a 3 years study leave with pay.This leave can be extended for another 2years ,then he either retire or come back depending on the situation of things.The thing is,for the sake of your kids,live in America is worth the sacrifice.Some time last year,my kid sister tripped and fell off the stairs in her u.k apartment.She was severely injured and had hit her chest against a pillar and fainted as a result.Her roomie who was coming behind quickly called the medic,who responded immediately and resuscitated her on the way to the hospital.Thankfully she broke no ribs but was treated for internal bleeding and all necessary text and x-ray performed to make sure she wasn't in danger.Ever since,I have never stopped wondering what would have happened if it was in Nigeria.Before the good neighbors will beat traffic... ,probably there might be no doctor on duty,or no fuel to power the gen for needed sugery.My point is,IF IT IS ONLY FOR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM,live abroad is worth whatever sacrifice you have to take.

Since you said you have your confirmation number,you are good to go.Send your form with the new mail add,but take note that you will be notified of your 2nl through both mails.Both of you will be notified,but there is nothing to fear since you have your confirmation number.His mail add is of no use.BUT,if you don't have your confirmation number,you desperately need to get it from him because its the key.You don't need his mail add again as no mail will be sent to you again after your 2nl.Another suggestion is for you to send your forms with a letter explaining that the other mail is no longer in use.perhaps,this will keep him in the dark when you receive your 2nl.

Or whether he remove his detail b4 sending.Although d boy's info n passport was included when sending their details after 1nl.They ve been sent 2nl 4 interview on 27th jan 2014 wt d boy's n dad name as d beneficiary and they r nt sure whether kcc sent dis based on d info provided @ d initial entry or after d 1nl.They wnt 2 b sure wheter 4 put d whole thin behind then or 2 go ahead so as nt 2 waste d fam little resources on zero assurance.Thanks.

I think i remember reading the experience of a man in 2013 thread who forgot his wife's visa fees was interviewed but had to bring the money the next day before the visa was approved.If my memory is correct,then my suggestion is that the principal applicant should pay for herself while they all appear for the interview.This will enable them save money incase the child wasn't included initially.As we all know,such a case is disqualified without option of ,'abeg sir'.Its just my humble suggestion.

mr rule: Please help o house help. I just noticed that I signed both forms on while filing it .I didn't knw that it was one that am supose to sign I just saw somebody's own today wen I went to my police clearance he told me that am supose to signe one .now my second letter is out already is there anything I can do ? Pls I need an advice

Mr rule how far?are you through with your medicals?As for the signature stuff ,go for the interview with another filled form this time,leaving that place unsigned.signing that part in front of the co is important.It shows you are the one who filled the form in the first place.Its the second thing you do after the oath taking.so its necessary you have another copy with you incase you are asked to fill another form.

After some few clicks she smiled and told me congratulations and welcome to USA. By the way, the CO was an african american (beautiful lady!)...so I guess my mind was not in the questions being asked ... she then gave me 2 papers (1 for visa pick up, the other USCIS payment).

I forgot to inform you guys that my interview date was shifted. It was initially billed for October 31st, however, I received a call informing me of the new date of 13th Nov... I was a bit annoyed because I felt a mail should have been used to back up the call (for me that was standard going by my training). so i mailed them that same day...the response i got was stunning...I was told I could not reschedule a date after the date advised (13th) and if i missed the interview that would be all. waiting be dis, see me see wahala, na me beg u say make u shift am?...was so furious so I almost sent a stinker mail to them...but after persuasion from my friend and colleague, I dropped the idea...

The cab that took me there had no bright head light... was scared wen we got to 3rd mainland and the whole place was dark...this was arnd 4.45...@bukiemma I tink I have tried...need to get back to work!

My family submitted ours through DHL too and everything went right on time.we have since been interviewed on 3rd of oct.so its possible that you didn't understand the person or he is mistaken.relax,you have nothing to worry about.success is yours when the time comes.

It always nice to have a strong defence if you are not sure of some documents should the CO ask you about them. I have gone to US embassy sometime in 2007, which i lied that i was in the Nigeria Navy, all in the name of yanky... I also said i was married then but all na lie, anyways they denied my self and 2 of my guys visa. So i was so scared that these will come up. Even my Waec date of birth says 1986 why my International Passport is carrying my real date of birth 1979, i was also sacred that this might come up. To cut the stories, God always have his ways. I thank God cos none of all these errors were asked.

She started typing and brought out 2 paper and advice us on how to pay our Green Card fee, and said welcome to America; i asked her if that’s all? And she said yes that’s all.

I just want to thank God cos i have been praying and asking God for easy interview and that was what God did for my family, my wife is a lawyer and the CO did not ask her any questions, i was suppressed.

I had a smooth and successful interview at the embassy yesterday. Got to the embassy at 5:45am and at about past 6 a staff of the embassy came to announce to us how the interview session will be condUcted. We were asked to form two lines one line for immigrants and the other for non immigrants. After dat we went through the security checks and finally got a number tag that I used for documentation and the interview. My tag nos was B407. At about past 8. I was called to submitted my documents and by 9:50am my nos beeped I was interviewed at window 14 by a beautiful white woman. I did fingerprint and I sworn to say the truth. My interview questions. CO: Gudmorning Me: Gudmorning Co:pls can I take your finger prints Me: Sure. Later took my oath and interview proper. CO: what year did u finish secondary school Me: 1993 CO: why are you using two WAEC? Me:I did make my English at first sitting so I did GCE to make up for it. Co:what is your highest level of education? Me: First Degree CO: what course? Me: History & Diplomatic Studies. Co: are you married Me: No CO: do you have children Me: No. She now said congratulations I will approve your visa. Welcome to America. She told me where to pick my passport and how to pay for the UCIS fee. I wish everyone going for their interview next week all the very best.

House can someone help with this matter?can the principal applicant leave before the rest of the family,even though in the form it was not indicated that we will join him later? husband is thinking of traveling by dec while we come by first week of February before the expiration date of April 3rd .this is to enable us dispose of some properties.in the form we were supposed to leave together.

mr rule: Pls I don't knw if anyone is experiencing what am experiencing I ve been trying to open d status page to see if my second letter has droped but just noticed that after puting my confirmation numbers and other details the page won't just open.and my current for this October. Though I called kcc sometimes last week they told they received my formes and they processing it.and this is more than 23 days they have been telling me the same the same thing.am really woried .please it any other way I can acess the page?

im surprised that you are still having this problem.have you received any notification from kcc through the e.mail address you filled in your form?if no is the answer,then let me suggest you wait to receive your notification then ( if it still refuses to open)check in a cyber café. Also,if you have forgotten your confirmation number,you will be given an alternative to use,such as the initial email you used in your entry.if you get the information right the page will open.

initial application -single,sent dsp form -single,interview day -married.equation not balanced.if she love you make she wait.appearing with her is a big risk.go for the interview alone.when you get to the states invite her over for a visit or better still enroll her as an international student if you can afford it.she can work to support her schooling.then u guys can then marry over there.after all you get green kpali(card).i don't know if it makes any sense to you.

Before we decided to take a taxi ,a family friend had earlier made arrangement for us to put up in a hotel at obalende.he said a short cut would take you there on foot in 30mins.cost 5k,but we decided to put up at my uncles place.if interested in the hotel let me know so i can get the address.

you don't need to book for any hotel,just make arrangement with any taxi driver to come pick you up by 5a.m and you will be there before 6a.m.my family and I had ours for 7 also.we left sango by 5 and got there before 6.wishing you success.

may i suggest that you present both certificate,d waec as a prove that you have a high school certificate which is the minimum requirement to qualify under education.your neco g.c.e.is to make up for your lack of English.your gce certificate have only 4credit and im not too comfortable with it.you can swear an affidavit to cover up for the difference in date of birth.i read this suggestion somewhere in the 2013thread and I hope it helps.

Congratulations for the success story. Just to make few equiries bc my family is due to visa interview few weeks time.

1) Do they allow children food like snacks or biscuit tem?
2) Was the police report sealed in an envelope bc it was not sealed when given to us.
3) Do we need photocpies of the police report?


& For those planning medical, we did our own at Children Practice (Ikoyi) & fixed charge are : Adult (12k) & Children (7K), other charges depend on the vaccination to be performed. Please ensure you give more 2 days to complete your medicals (our exprience was that they could not give us the result for children 48 hrs after the test & we have to pick it up the following day after wasted tangible time).

It is advisable to go there with volumes of medical history for children (vaccination, immunization, etc).. it realy saved us a lot while one of my children that has incomplete immunization recored cost us additional 31k.
