Gentlemen of the press, we gladly welcome you again to this press briefing today.
1. Having observed again, the sincere effort of the state government towards ensuring that lasting peace returned to our dear community and observed with dismay, the sabotage orchestrated and perpetuated by the Ezzas and in our resolve to restore permanent peace in the community, it has again become necessary that we let the public know the reality on ground.

2. We most sincerely appreciate the state government, led by His Excellency, Engr. David Umahi, who, through the Deputy Governor, Barr. Eric Kelechi Igwe, the police, military and other security agencies has ensured that the peace we enjoy today in Effium is made possible. The provision of motorcycles and other logistics to the security agents with which they parade the hinterlands of the community has really added to the success story so far recorded.

3. It is no longer news that the Ezzas have continually attacked Effiumites both within and outside the state as the security agencies have often countered them as they tried penetrating towards Benue state and/or Nworie Ishieke Izzi/Onuebeta axis.

4. Last time, at Okporo Forest, Ezza mercenaries and warriors-turned bandits attacked the Nigeria Police as usual and were matched with superior firepower of the security agents, who gunned down one of them while some escaped with bullet wounds.

5. Recently, a group of Ezza boys moving to Nwekendiagu from Nworie Ishieke Izzi axis, were stopped at the Effium Police Station. A search operation led to the discovery of four (4) Ak-47 rifles and other weapons from them.

6. Few days ago, some group of Ezza boys numbering about ten (10) were again arrested with weapons by the military at Igbudoke/Okpobashi axis in a preparatory gathering to attack Effiumites through Enwenyi village, the same village where they had killed and cut off the head of an Arochukwu man of Abia state origin whose death has brought to nine (9) number of Arochukwu people so far killed by the Ezzas and their hired mercenaries.

7. Just yesterday, the Ezzas abducted one Rtd. ASP Nweke an indigene of Ikwo residing in Effium. The said Rtd. ASP Nweke was a popular police officer who served and retired at Effium Division and now operates a ‘bar joint’ opposite Effium Divisional Police Headquarters. He was kidnapped around Nwanewo/Igbudoke axis on his way from Nworie Ishieke where he has gone to buy goods for his bar business. We condemn this latest onslaught against innocent natives of other tribes whose only crime is being peaceful with their host community. Consequently, we give the Ezza bandits and their sponsors 24 hours to release their hostage victim or else we will reach the inevitable conclusion that the Ezzas have declared war on the entire old Abakaliki bloc.

8. Generally, we condemn in the strongest terms the barbaric and senseless killing of innocent natives of Ngboejeogu, Izzi, Arochukwu and now Ikwo by Ezza warriors on the mere allegation that they support Effium indigenes. We employ this press release to challenge the Ezzas to tell the world with concrete proofs how these innocent Ebonyians of old Abakaliki bloc have supported or are supporting the Effium indigenes; whether through cash, supply of ammunition or even manpower to justify their elimination from the face of the earth in the most despicable and gruesome manner of chopping off their heads after subjecting them the most excruciating and agonizing death.

9. We want the world to note that the Ezzas have killed virtually every tribe in Abakaliki bloc including Izzi, Ngboejeogu and now Ikwo. We use this medium to ask the Ezzas if they have declared war on the entire old Abakaliki bloc. We have again observed with dismay the inability or unwillingness of Ezza leaders to control their boys who have now turned bandits. Ezzas everywhere should show responsibility, capacity and good faith by calling their boys to order before they jeopardise the interest of the entire state. This is so important because the activities of Ezzas are gradually threatening peace and making it difficult for the state government to pursue it's laudable peace project. Ezza Ezukuna should give peace a chance in view of the National security situation in the country and support the genuine effort of the governor to make Ebonyi state peaceful.

10. We also employ this press release to call on the security agents to address the compromised release of 6 out of the 10 Ezza bandits arrested by the military at Igbudoke/Okpobashi last week Friday and we further call on all the relevant authorities to ensure that they are re-arrested immediately and handed over to the police for proper action.

11. Again, we wish to remind the Ezza Ezekuna that the Effium indigenes have been very kind to the Ezzas living in Effium until their son, Hon. Chinedu Awo, who was imposed on the people of Ohaukwu North Constituency came and destabilized the social equilibrium and finally brought war to the once peaceful Effium community.

12. We enjoin the Ezza leaders to stop shopping for who to blame in the face of clear and obvious evidence as to the cause of this unfortunate crisis, they should stop lying to themselves, they should be bold and honest enough to hold their son, Mr. Awo responsible for all their woes and misfortunes else he will still commit more atrocities and leave them to continue to look for who to blame.

At the moment, look no further, Ezza Nation, for your problem, the problem of the battered image of the 'Nation' is within. Mr. Chinedu Awo is your major enemy-within. In searching for a solution to the problem, start from within. We call on Ezza Nation to summon Chinedu Awo to their most sacred place to answer for the calamity he and chief Titus Nworie brought upon Ezza people living in Effium.

13. As we conclude, let us use this medium to make it clear that Effium Indigenes have no dual identity or hybrid personality and are not of differing extractions. The concept; 'Effium indigenes of Ezza Ezekuna Extraction', coined recently by one Hon. Monday Eze is not only childish, ill conceived, but dead on mention, as nothing like that exist. It's either you are Effium indigene or you are Ezza indigene living in Effium. WE ARE PROUDLY EFFIUM INDIGENES, NATIVES OF THE GEOGRAPHICAL REGION CALLED EFFIUM. Ezzas in our land should be proud to accept the incontrovertible fact that they are Ezza Ezekuna indigenes, resident in Effium.

14. Finally, we, as usual, pledge our unalloyed support towards the peace moves of the state government as we urge the Ezzas to stop provoking different tribes of Ebonyi state and Igbo in general with their senseless killing of innocent citizens.

THE VISION AND MISSION OF EZZA IN EFFIUM
It is no longer news about the ongoing crisis in Effium , that started on 22, January 2021.in diagnosing the cause of this crisis, the Paramount step is to notify the general public about the previous clashes between the Indigenous people of Effium and Ezzaa in Effium.it All started in 1998, 2002, 2016 and 2021 respectively
In 2002 There was a mass brutality against the Effiumites ,by Ezzas in Effium, on this attacked not less than 200 persons were reported alleged killed by Ezza, where a whole village called ugede were surrounded by Ezza in Effium at midnight,on raining hour of the night, the report has it that only few persons escaped this attacked.on this attacked the following persons were victimized.1,Sis.Ndidi, ifeoma,,Mr James,mr.machael,onyebuchi, Monday,Adanna,. and many more whom their names can't remembered mentioned here, include the painful irritative massacre of a pregnant woman whose womb was tore with a knife,who also crying for help but no one to help her and was also killed.however few weeks later one chukwuma Erekeh came openly stilled threatened the indigenous people of Effium not to even think of retaliation as it will cause more harm than good for them,who also threatened to wipe a whole village in Effium within 24hrs, which is mission impossible.
To still verify the authenticity of this article in 2016, there was another attacked by Ezza against Effiumites as they planned to take over the Effium Forrest, due to their political influence , wealth and population.on this attacked Seven persons were killed, one mr.Ibeh, Friday, and three girls that Left okporo to Ekpeatom were also killed on the way by Ezza bandits in Effium.and other two that their names can't remembered mention here, which on the side of The Effiumites there was no report of any kind of retaliation not because they are coward but due to their peaceful nature and one Adage among them that everything that bite in the night should be call mosquito, after the said genocide against the Effiumites another one Onuoha Akam still came out threatened the indigenous people of Effium for further killings who also promised his people not to worry about any reaction by Effiumites, that he will supply then with any kind of Ammunition that they may need in committing more genocide against Effiumites,he added that with the level of their preparation both financially, politically and other wise they will wipe the entire Effium within the space of three weeks.yet the state government is showing sense of impunity as none of the perpetrator of this genocide against the Effiumites were brought to book, this indeed is a great injustice by the government against Effium people.
Sequence to the ongoing war in Effium.As a reminder and rejoinder to the fraudulent petition laden with fake claim and All kind of lie written by one Barr.sampson I.Igbokeand Hon.Chinedu Awo who is feeding the general public with fallacious narratives about the ongoing crisis in Effium at Ohaukwu local government Area of Ebonyi state.this crisis is believe to have occurred as a result of envy, greedy, hatred by Ezza in Effium against the indigenous people of Effium in their ancestral land.
However this act of hatred was first displayed when Barr.Omekannaya Odah the Ohaukwu local government chairman. was constructing street roads in Effium main market, even after his appeal to the shop owners by the road side,Barr.Odah was still petition by Ezza in Effium for constructing the said roads,As the Ezza did not want to see any good thing to come out of the land through the indigenous people of Effium, even not to see any Effiumites in any political office of the state. which when they fa.......

FOILED CONSPIRACY PLAN ON ATTACKS AGAINST EFFIUM INDIGENES: KEEPING THE WORLD ON THE KNOW

Prior to now, there were series of intelligent reports of FAKE SOLDIERS sponsored and deployed by one Pascal Gold Nwigwe- an Ezza man and one time governorship aspirant residing in Effium. These FAKE SOLDIERS were believed to be stationed by the alleged sponsor at Inikiri village, Effium where they were instructed to guard the Ezza people and secretly (if possible) launch attacks against Effium Indigenes in their villages surrounding Inikiri and its environs.

Now that soldiers have been deployed to Okpeere village Effium, the events of coming days will confirm whether the story about the deployment of these FAKE SOLDIERS is true or not.

THE MENACES OF GOVERNMENT HANDLING THE LINGERING CRISIS IN EFFIUM COMMUNITY
It is no longer news that the lingering crisis in Effium, Ohaukwu Local Government Area in State, Nigeria.

The incumbent Governor of Ebonyi State (Dave Umahi)
Had on several occasion called the duo for peace talk during which the conference will be ongoing, the Ezza fighters will strike, attack Effium Indigenes, burning down houses and properties worth millions of naira. The incessant killing and arresting of the harmless people in place of harmful ones is absolutely quash. The injustice and constant intimidation of the indigenous people of the community UFFIUM has gotten out of hand.

Several times had the Governor expressed disappointment and threaten to arrest, vow to order military officers to face whoever being the first to attack, there after the Ezza fighters will still strike Effium, killing and destroy properties own by Effiumites. At a point the indigenous people of Effium felt bad over the intimidation, bias mind of the Governor for not keeping to his words, this has led to suspicious and sad conclusion that he favour the Ezza fighters on the detriment of UFFIUM by rendering injustice to them over this deadly carnage exhibiting by the vampires called Ezza fighters.

It has been confirmed that even before this crisis began, the Governor surrounded himself with Ezza people as his spoke persons, personal Assistant, and aid to the incumbent Governor of the state.
The said people who had for many occasion have selfishly and callously used this opportunity to moult pressure on him in order to hearken to their voice.

The callous and unimaginable injustice has in several occasion been rendered against the host who are minority to the extend that their own mouth piece or representatives (stake holders) and the links through which their poor voice can be heard by the Government have been arrested, the people like James Agena, Barrister Omekanya Odah, The Effium Youth President and the other leaders whom their names cannot be remembered to be mentioned here.

Just on Saturday, The Ezza fighters stormed the main town in Effium community through which they threw explosives device (bomb) but the calamity was averted by the God in heaven, the ugly incident would have happened otherwise the whole community would have been wiped out and sent into extinction. The soldiers were not far away from the scene but instead of going after the perpetrators, they could not but pretended as if not happened.

Just yesterday, April 3rd, 2021 the Governor stormed Effium (in Okpoduma village) he came to Effium community again and met the youths digging grave to bury one of their vibrant guards, a father and a brother whom was among the victims of the mayhem carried out by Ezza fighters against UFFIUM by name, Mr Merenge, as the burial was going on in Okpoduma village, Effium, the Governor stormed and arrested the great number of Effiumites. The harmless boys that were doing nothing other than organizing the burial of their father and a brother but leaving the Ezza fighters untouched, the major people who has been carried out the attack have been enjoying protection.

Last night after the arrest the of the Effiumites by the executive Governor of the state, the Ezza fighters still storm Okpuma villages in Effium again to attack the Effiumites, however the arrested number of Effiumites in prison and those kidnapped in place of arrest are much. The question is that who will secure the town in case when these Ezza fighters will strike again? The host and the major indigens of the land, UFFIUM have been displaced via this ugly incidents, houses and properties worth millions of Naira burnt down.

We are hereby calling on federal and international government to step up into the matter and resolve the it. For kept silent for long and we are tired and can not be silent anymore, we cannot continue to harbour or co-exist and host the strangers who has decided to eliminate us all out our only community that God gave to us.
We are hereby urging them to return back to their home, their eccestral hom, they have large expanse of land wide enough to contain them, why coming to our territory and killing us?
