SportsAFCON 2025: Gusau, Eto'o Challenge CAF On Ref Withdrawal, Appointment by prinsam30(op): 7:22pm On Jan 09
Tensions are rising at the Confederation of African Football's AFCON 2025 centre in Rabat, as Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Ibrahim Musa Gusau and his Cameroonian counterpart Samuel Eto'o have decisively teamed up to contest CAF's controversial decision to withdraw referees assigned to their respective quarterfinal matches.

BSNSports.com.ng sourced from Romain Molina, an investigative reporter specialising in football, based in Andalucía, that both federation leaders are vocally set to accuse CAF of bias regarding the unjustified withdrawal and selection of match officials for the AFCON 2025 quarterfinals.

Omar Artan, who was originally selected to officiate the match between Algeria and Nigeria, was abruptly dismissed by CAF after being penalised for wearing cleats from an unapproved brand.

However, it appears that this was merely a pretext, as the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) had lodged a protest claiming that the Somali referee would unfairly favour Nigeria, citing two previous matches he officiated where Algeria suffered defeats against Mauritania.

In the case of Cameroon, following a complaint from the Moroccan Football Federation, the initially designated referee for the match against the Indomitable Lions, Egyptian Amin Omar, has been replaced.

The Cameroonian Football Federation has yet to be informed of this significant change.

SportsSportafcon 2025: CAF Removes Referee For Super Eagles Vs Algeria by prinsam30(op): 7:11pm On Jan 09
Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan has been removed from officiating the quarter-final encounter between Nigeria and Algeria, DAILY POST reports.

Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan has been removed from officiating the quarter-final encounter between Nigeria and Algeria, DAILY POST reports.

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, reportedly took the decision after it was discovered that Artan wore boots from a brand not approved by the tournament’s official sponsors during an earlier game.

The arbiter’s action breached CAF’s rules, hence the decision to remove from the highly anticipated encounter.

Artan was named Referee of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco.

CAF is now expected to name a replacement for the last-eight contest.

The encounter is slated for the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.

It's a win win for both criminal billionaires.

You mine resources in Nigeria for your product and sell higher to Nigerians than what you sell to nearby countries and you dey speak English dey give us fake reasons why it is so and government no send.

Resources in Nigeria, company in Nigeria but we buy higher....between you and Farouk I no know who tiff pass.
One resigned at another's mercy, the another dropped petition for achieving his aim thereby govt dropping all charges for one's claimed crimes.
Nigeria is like Netflix.
I'm just seeing this post after making my comment, exactly what I said, both of them are thieves buh one is more dubious than the other, Dangote is a monopolistic colony, he's the main problem this country is facing, the earlier the masses know this the beta for everyone
PoliticsRe: Aliko Dangote Withdraws Petition Before ICPC Against Ahmed by prinsam30: 8:09am On Jan 08

There's something special about this Nigerian team , no Mata the team they are playing with, strong or weak teams, they always make them look stupid , our pattern of play , slow pace and boom attacks from left and right, no matter how good u ar , u will definitely lose concentration with our slow pace attacking football. I wish the super eagles successful outcome

stuffs2002:
Lol...

You are an enemy of Osimhen if you keep defending his disgraceful acts because no manager wants an uncontrollable player

Nothing happened yet the video evidence is going viral and football analysts are criticising Osimhen globally.

Did you close the eyes of the spectators in the stadium from seeing the shameful attack by Osimhen? Or did you block the TV transmission from those people that watched it on TV.

Do you not see how shameful it is for two members of the opposing team to be the ones to hold you from beating up your own team mate
Abeg make Una rest jare allow the players to concentrate we don't really need this
