Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has celebrated two years of being celibate, Igbere TV reports.

The 34-year-old shared a picture of herself on Instagram on Thursday.

She said her life has taken a new turn since she began her celibacy journey.

The Federal Government on Monday said it was against the resumption of schools on January 18.

At the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, said the Federal Government did not agree with the states on the resumption date.

Adamu, who noted that the PTF would monitor the COVID-19 situation on a daily basis, said the school resumption could be reviewed again.

“We sat down, looked at the figures and we took the decision that schools should not open.

“Unfortunately, we have to state this because it is supposed to be a collective decision, but you must understand that the schools we’re talking about, the Federal Government has only about 100 out of thousands of schools.

“The schools are under the jurisdiction of states and just as the PTF was unanimous in saying that schools should not open, states were unanimous that schools should open.

“So, we have to compromise and as PTF we shall monitor what is happening on a daily basis. There could be some review again”, Adamu said.

It would be recalled that last Thursday, Igbere TV reports that the spokesman of the Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, had said in a statement that “after extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders, including state governors, commissioners of education, proprietors and heads of institutions, staff unions and students, the consensus of opinion is that the resumption date of 18th January should remain.”

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and PTF Chairman, Boss Mustapha, also said the school resumption would be reviewed due to rising daily numbers of infections and the challenges of case management, especially the shortage of oxygen.

Mustapha warned Nigerians to cooperate with the PTF to avoid a second lockdown in the country.

He said: “The pandemic is raging and all tiers of government and citizens must keep their hands-on-deck.

“We’re in a difficult situation in which a balance must continue to be struck between lives and livelihood.

“We’re considering all options while hoping that broad cooperation will be received.

“We must do everything possible to avoid a second lockdown in Nigeria.”

He said the PTF was proceeding with the next phase of the approved presidential sanction against all in-bound international travelers that failed to undergo the day-7 post arrival test.

He said the PTF would ensure that the vaccines to be approved would be safe and effective.

“We must however work together as foot soldiers in the vaccine advocacy so that we can eliminate the pandemic.

“The PTF wishes to emphasize that the success of our national response shall not depend on vaccines alone.

“Rather, compliance with the non-pharmaceutical protocols must remain top on our individual priorities.”

He said the PTF had authorized the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to immediately implement the 450 tests per local government area plan nationwide.

TikToker Claims Married Nigerian Women Are The Highest Cheaters In The World At 62% (Video)

A Tiktok video has gone viral after a user listed eight countries and named Nigerian married women as the highest cheaters in the world, Igbere TV reports.

In the video the man mentions eight different countries with the highest fate of women cheating on their husband.

According to the man, the number of women cheating in the United States is 14%, 16% for France, 19% for Singapore, 33% for Russia, 39% for Malaysia, 42 for UK, 59 % for Thailand and Nigeria at 62% is the highest.

The analysis comes after condom brand, Durex, did a recent survey on it's highest users in the world.

The survey taken on 29,000 people in 36 countries has ranked Nigerian women as the most unfaithful in the world.

The survey revealed that the top two countries with cheating women are Nigeria,with 62 percent?

Singer Paul Okoye has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and is on the road to recovery, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV recall that in June, Peter Okoye, twin brother of Paul, revealed that himself, his wife, Lola, their daughter, Aliona and two of their domestic staff had tested positive for coronavirus and were sick for three weeks.

Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba has reacted to an allegation made against him of being gay.

The funnyman in a Facebook post said he was not bothered because the person mentioned Uche Williams and not his name Williams Uche Mbah, Igbere TV reports.

On Tuesday a man on Facebook known as Kosi Ugo made an allegation that Williams is gay.

“What I can never bring myself to understand is why a man who is strictly into men will go and pick one innocent woman and marry, for what bikonu?” he wrote.

“It’s better your wife deals with a side chick than to deal with a side cock; where she wan start from?”

Williams responding to the allegation said he would take legal actions if anyone had an allegation against him without evidence.

“Someone brought something to my attention recently. I read it with amusement and decided to speak immediately. Usually, I would ignore this but for some reason, I think it’s important to address it.

Desmond Elliot has apologized for addressing the youths as 'Children' while making his submission during plenary at the Lagos state House of Assembly last week, Igbere TV reports.

In a viral video that captured the Surulere lawmaker's submission on the Lagos carnage, he addressed the youths as children and opined that social media was used to fuel the carnage.

In a statement he released on his Twitter handle today, the actor apologized for his choice of words during the deliberation. According to him, he did not mean to be insensitive.

Leader of a so-called Young Yoruba for Freedom, Adeyinka Grandson, who currently resides abroad, in a viral video obtained by IGBERE TV urged all Igbo to leave Lagos in 48 hours or face dire consequences.

Wole Soyinka in a release on Saturday in response to the viral video of Grandson’s threat described the threat by the UK-based Nigerian Adeyinka Grandson on Igbo indigenes to leave Yorubaland within 48 hours as the “work of sick, cowardly minds”.

In his statement, Soyinka said: “Undoubtedly in order to promote the video clip of an ethnic revanchist calling on Igbo to leave Yoruba land, this same lunatic fringe has exhumed, and embarked on circulating an ancient fabrication – several years mouldering in the grave – once attributed to me and vigorously denounced.

“That statement impudently expounds, as my utterance, what the Hausa want, what the Yoruba want, and what the Igbo want.

“Such an attribution – let me once again reiterate – is the work of sick, cowardly minds that are ashamed, or lack the courage, as the saying goes, ‘to answer their fathers’ names.’ At least the current ethnic rabble-rouser has the courage of his convictions, not so the sick brigade of identity thieves.

“Normally, one should totally ignore the social dregs. However, in the present atmosphere where FAKE NEWS is so easily swallowed and acted upon without reflection, I feel once again obliged to denounce this recurrent obscenity.

“As for our brother and sister Igbo, I hope they have learnt to ignore the toxic bilge under which some Nigerian imbeciles seek to drown the nation.

“It is time also, I believe, to also enter the following admonition: one cannot continue to monitor and respond to the concoctions of these addicts of falsehood, and their assiduous promoters who have yet to learn to wipe the filth off their tablets.

“The patrons of social platforms should develop the art of discrimination. Some attributions are simply so gross that, to grant them even a moment’s latitude of probability diminishes the civic intelligence of the recipient.”

Leaders of some Yoruba and Igbo socio-cultural groups, including Afenifere, Yoruba Ronu Forum, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo, yesterday, also unanimously decried the attempt to use the viral video and the carnage that trailed the #EndSARS protests as a basis to truncate the good relationship between the two ethnic nationalities.

In August 2019, Grandson was arrested in London for allegedly “stirring racial discrimination” against the Igbo and Fulani ethnic groups and also “encouraging terrorism”.

The Big Brother Naija reality star spoke on the show about having only her mother while she was growing up. She said she searched for her father for years and later found him but he didn't seem enthusiastic about her so she moved on because she was hurt by it.

#EndSARS: Old Woman, See Your Mates — Wizkid Drags Lauretta Onochie As Elderly Women Storm Street To Protest

Pop singer Wizkid on Friday continued his attack on the Presidency particularly the special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media Lauretta Onochie over the #EndSARS protest, Igbere TV reports.

Lauretta began the feud on her Twitter page after calling Wizkid a “dumbkid”, who exhibited crass ignorance and childishness in the way he addressed the president on October 4.

Igbere TV reports that the ‘Smile’ singer reposted her tweet saying,

“Lol a 77-year-old man is not young ma.. You are a woman and a mother and kids are getting killed by police/sars and this is all you have to say? shame on you!!! shame on you!! I am a father and age has nothing to do with demanding for a better governance in my country!!”

The 24-year-old fell ill in the early hours of October 2. Her sister Cynthia Bachor said via Twitter that she was rushed to the hospital.

Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Mashall popularly known as K1 de Ultimate has distanced himself from a statement made by his aide Kunle Rasheed on BBC Yoruba, Igbere TV reports.

The aide reportedly granted an interview to the BBC Yoruba Service on the face-off between the Fuji maestro and a broadcaster Wole Sorunke also known as MC Murphy on Sunday, where he made disparaging statements against the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN).

However, in a statement on Monday signed by the same aide Rasheed and made available to IGBERE TV, K1 said the utterances of the aide during the interview does not in any way represent his views, mindset or that of his organisation.

“K1 wishes to distance himself from the verbal abuse of FIBAN. K1 also wishes to reiterate his respect and partnership with FIBAN and indeed all media practitioners, many of whom are his close friends,” the statement read.

FIBAN president Desmond Nwachukwu had said they were waiting until Wednesday to take action against K1. The group’s members have also been told not to use K1’s songs on their shows.

The Fuji musician is alleged to have assaulted MC Murphy at the 60th birthday party of Oba Abdulfatai Akamo the Olu of Itori in Ewekoro, Ogun State on October 1.
